Chapter 293: Desmond and Luna
James looked at the beautiful painting in front of him, and with every passing second, he was filled with immense happiness and peace, but also with an incredible sadness that overshadowed both of those feelings.
It would have been normal for him to feel devastated by looking at the painting of two people who were no longer in this tower, and perhaps no longer in reality.
He had already collapsed to his knees, unable to tear his eyes away from the painting.
The spirit of Vladimir, Desmond's closest friend, was literally weeping with sorrow. Vlad, Abby, Elijah, and Emily, despite their serious mental states, were sobbing uncontrollably.
Even someone as tough as Vlad could break down so easily in front of his father and mother. It was understandable.
What was happening in Olympus was completely different.
The gods and goddesses were talking loudly, creating chaos around them, while the Titans were calmly discussing what needed to be done and what should be done. Erebus was silently watching his beloved wife, who was beginning to feel stressed.
Everything had reached a whole new level. It wasn't a sad situation, just an incredibly stressful one.
Telling James about all this could make things even more dangerous. Especially when you consider that just one dream had completely driven him mad.
"Sigh..."
Nyx suddenly exhaled deeply towards the outside.
At that moment, every god, goddess, and titan in the vast hall of Olympus had fallen silent.
Nyx had opened the message window at that moment. Along with that, she had spoken these words:
"James, I want you to listen carefully to what I'm about to say, my dear."
When James saw the message from Nyx, he managed to compose himself and, glancing away from the painting for a moment, managed to read the message.
"Go ahead, my lady…" James said in a calm tone of voice.
[The person you see on the left side of that painting is Desmond himself, but the one on the right… believe me, even if I knew who she was, I had no idea she was involved with Desmond.]
When he started reading what was written in the message window in front of him, James' attention was locked on the window even more seriously, but suddenly he started sweating, and when that message sound came again and Nyx sent another message, James stood up and started shaking his head from side to side as if he couldn't believe his eyes.
Immediately after that, a sound of music reached his ears. This sound reached not only his ears but also the ears of every god and goddess who had permission to watch James from behind the 75th floor.
He suddenly turned around to face the direction of the sound.
His mouth remained open in astonishment.
Even though Nyx and the others couldn't understand what was happening, James had already started moving, and when he entered the room through the door, he began to look at the church window directly opposite him, which was fixed in the moonlight.
Nyx couldn't take it anymore and decided that it would be better to see everything directly through James' eyes, so she adjusted the viewing panels in the Grand Hall of Olympus accordingly.
What they saw was incomprehensibly beautiful.
The moonlight began to slowly illuminate the room through the moon symbol on the church window. When the moonlight slowly moved and settled on that full moon symbol, James could see the image clearly.
Two people dancing.
A woman and a man dancing in a pure white dress and a jet-black suit. Two people with smiling faces and, to put it bluntly, full of hope.
When the moonlight completely changed and settled, the light reflecting from the church window finally managed to hit the painting that had always been hidden but was now revealed on the wall.
The painting had somehow managed to reflect the moonlight, and the image was now visible to everyone.
Desmond and Luna… were dancing.
At that moment, the message Nyx had already sent reappeared at the corner of James's eye.
[Her name is Luna… one of the four creators created by Chaos… James, you are the descended of a creator.]
The moonlight revealed the dance of the two people, and the sound of music continued from a place no one knew. When the sound of the piano and violin blending together became clearer in their ears, no one could say a word.
Those who continued to watch everything through James's eyes could do nothing but shed tears, while James himself stood there motionless, trying to watch everything without even blinking.
With Luna Desmond guiding him, every time he turned, his eyes locked onto James, and James himself noticed this.
Several minutes had already passed. The music did not stop; on the contrary, its rhythm became even more intense.
It was truly beautiful.
As the moonlight entered the church through the moonlight symbol on the window, and the starlight began to enter through the window, Desmond slowly began to disappear.
After nearly ten minutes, when Luna was left alone, she bowed towards the moonlight as the dance ended and then turned to James, extending her hand to him.
As James took a step forward from where he was standing, the moonlight began to shine on him. He found himself in a completely different place. The surroundings and the clothes he was wearing had changed. He even seemed to have grown a few centimetres taller.
"Are we going to do this? I mean really?" a male voice suddenly said.
James realised that the voice had come from him, but it wasn't him who had spoken…
"We have to do it. We have a plan. We must pave the way for the one from our lineage who will come to this tower. He must write his own destiny," Luna replied. The purity of the smile on the Great Woman's face was indescribable.
"I am...Desmond? This must be another memory." he thought suddenly. He just needed to relive the memory.
