Chronicles of Forgotten Extra

Chapter 134: Alden? A Playboy?

"What the hell."

Nyx exclaimed, eyes wide as she stared at the scene unfolding before her.

She had expected something else—anything else.

Not this.

Not Alden practically on top of Amyra, their faces so close she could barely tell where one ended and the other began.

Her surprise quickly twisted into confusion… then suspicion… And finally—

Rage.

Just then, another voice interrupted her thoughts.

"See, Cecilia? I told you Alden's the real playboy."

Aziel's casual voice echoed through the room.

Playboy?

Right.

That was the word she'd been searching for.

Alden wasn't just a fool. He was a dangerous playboy.

Nyx had read about that kind of person in a novel she had been binge reading recently.

My Playboy, Dear.

It was a tale of heartbreak and betrayal.

It was about a girl—Page.

She was a cold and distant girl.

Everyone around her feared her.

But inside that cold facade, she was actually just a soft and innocent maiden.

She was just misunderstood.

Page had fallen for a boy with a dazzling smile and silver tongue.

A boy who made her feel alive.

But he was a playboy.

And the story… ended in tragedy.

He left her.

Just like that.

Page smiled one last time in that novel—and then never again.

Nyx had cried for two hours.

She literally spammed that author with dozens of one-star reviews.

She even tried to message the author to demand a rewrite.

Her hands curled into fists at the memory.

And now—

Now she saw Page again.

In Amyra.

That quiet flush on her cheeks.

The soft trembling of her fingers. The innocent panic in her eyes.

It was the same.

Exactly the same.

This must be the real Amyra. A soft and gentle girl behind that cold facade.

And Alden?

He had the same expression.

The same careless charm. The same oblivious, infuriating air about him.

The villain.

The heartbreaker.

The playboy.

Nyx's breath caught.

No.

I won't let it happen again.

Not this time.

Not while I am here.

This Page wasn't going to end up crying alone under a cherry blossom tree.

This time, someone was going to step in.

And if that meant declaring war on a playboy…

So be it.

Her eyes narrowed with newfound determination.

I'll be your worst nightmare. Alden Draven.

She thought in her mind as her fists clenched tight.

I won't let you play with Amyra's heart… like you did with Page.

In that moment, Nyx completely abandoned every prior grudge, every plan and every calculation she had ever made about Amyra.

Gone was the cold and arrogant image she'd built in her head.

Now?

Now she saw her for who she truly was.

A misunderstood girl.

Just like Page.

Fragile and vulnerable. Wearing a mask to survive in a cruel, political world.

Nyx's heart ached with sympathy.

Amyra isn't my enemy anymore.

If anything, she is just a victim.

A victim of that vile man, Alden.

The man who dared to have expressions like that.

The one who kissed Amyra's lips with his, then had the audacity to look shocked?

He was the enemy now.

Nyx had already forgotten her own defeat inside the virtual reality.

It was already washed away by the drama playing in her mind like a live-action adaptation of her favourite tragic novel.

She was so deep into it that somewhere in her head…

Another thought appeared in her head at that moment.

Alden had tried to do the same thing with her as well.

So that wasn't an accident.

That guy must've planned it with me as well.

Definitely.

She didn't think whatever happened inside the practical combat class was an accident anymore.

I won't let him ruin Amyra.

__

Lucien looked at the scene wide-eyed.

He heard a shocked voice of Nyx beside him, but his mind was preoccupied with something else.

Amyra's reaction.

He had expected her to kill Alden for even touching her.

But what he saw was completely opposite.

She was blushing like an innocent maiden who had her first kiss stolen.

The Amyra from his memories was not like this at all. She didn't even let her maids touch her.

How did that guy do that?

Did he do some black magic or something?

No, that can't be.

Then suddenly his mind cleared up.

Amyra is not acting normally.

This must be something planned by her.

Definitely.

Others might be fooled, but not me.

Lucien immediately came to a conclusion in his mind.

For the first time in his life, Lucien's thoughts were in the right direction.

But what's her motive?

Is she planning to manipulate Alden?

That could be a possibility.

Lucien felt bad for that Alden guy. He hated him.

But it was not a pure hate, just a rivalry he felt.

He wished to defeat him.

That's all.

But now he genuinely felt bad.

Tch. Poor guy,

Lucien thought, shaking his head with a sigh full of pity.

Getting manipulated by a pretty face like that… couldn't be me.

__

Unaware of a dramatic fangirl plotting his downfall and a simp calling him a simp, Alden had only one thought in his head—

Damn it. Someone just kill me already.

His ears were still burning.

He had just accidentally kissed a damn princess in front of elites of the academy.

Not just any princess—Amyra.

Why does this kind of accident keep on happening to me?

Am I cursed or what?

To be honest, cursed wouldn't be the right word… Am I blessed or what?

I mean, falling on two of the beautiful girls can't be a curse.

If anything, it's a blessing.

An unwanted, humiliating, sanity-destroying blessing…

But a blessing nonetheless.

Life really hated him.

Is this some divine punishment?

Did I perhaps offend some gods in my previous life?

He had a faint memory of stepping on a priest's robe as a child.

Was that it?

Was this a karmic backlash?

Or is some cosmic force forcing it… laughing at his sufferings?

A lost thought popped into his mind after lots of days again.

FK you, author!!!!

He couldn't recover his reputation anymore.

Why me? Out of all people?

There was no recovery from this anymore.

If it happened only one time? People might've believed it was an accident.

But twice?

Yeah, no one's buying that.

I am officially doomed.

Alden looked at the faces of others.

All of them had different expressions.

Aziel whistled carelessly, smirking as if he was proud of Alden or something.

Cecilia beside him was just surprised; the same was the case with Aurelia as well.

Aaron, who didn't associate much with anyone, was also here… his face had an unreadable expression.

Zephyr wasn't here.

Still, those were the normal expressions that Alden could predict and didn't really mind much.

What he couldn't bear were the expressions of the other three.

The three problem children.

Lucien, the simp king, was staring at Alden like he had just awakened his third eye.

There was clarity in his gaze.

Too much clarity.

Like he had understood some universal truth.

Seles' eyes were calm and confident, but her expression, which held a polite smile, gave Alden a bad feeling.

A really bad feeling.

She wasn't angry.

She wasn't shocked.

She was... calm.

Dangerously calm.

She was definitely planning something.

And the worst thing?

Alden couldn't do anything about it currently.

Well, he could technically do one thing.

Curse her.

B*tch

After cursing her a bit more time in his mind, he looked at the last person in this hall.

And the person whose reaction puzzled him the most.

Nyx.

She was looking at him dead in the eyes.

Her eyes held animosity and hostility.

Alden could even feel a slight bloodlust.

What the hell is this now?!!

Why is she so angry?!!

Alden tried to think of every logic in his mind for her anger.

Was it the time he fell on her?

He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself.

Then he looked at Nyx again.

Damn it.

She's definitely planning my assassination.

Alden quickly shook his head. He needed to find a way to escape this predicament.

He looked at Amyra.

Then Nyx.

Then finally at Aziel.

He finally decided to reply to Aziel's accusations.

"No," he muttered. "I refuse.

"I'm not a playboy. It was just an accident."

Everyone stared at him.

Literally no one looked convinced.

Aziel was grinning like he had just found the perfect story to tease Alden with for the next ten years.

"Sure, bro," Aziel said, his voice practically dripping with mischief. "I will trust you."

Trust my ass, Alden wanted to scream.

Aziel was clearly being sarcastic.

Just then—

Amyra suddenly spoke; her cheeks still were pink, but she was slowly trying to regain composure.

"I–it was d – definitely an accident…."

Her voice was slightly trembling.

At Amyra's words the bloodlust from Nyx increased even more.

That isn't helping at all.

Why do I feel like I am some kind of villain?

It was too late already. The damage had been done.

He needed an escape plan.

I give up.

"Believe whatever you want." He muttered as he stormed out of the training hall.

Amyra was still standing in the arena.

She kept her eyes down, fingers gently touching her lips.

She still acted like an innocent maiden who had her first kiss stolen by a playboy.

Her heart was still racing.

Not from embarrassment—

But from joy.

He touched her. He kissed her.

Even if it was an accident… it still counted.

They all saw it.

He was mine now.

I had marked him.

Nobody would dare to steal my dear now.

And if anyone tried to take him—

I'm going to make them regret it.
