Chronicle Of The Stars

Chapter 5: In The Midnight

Gradually, Velmir's eyes opened, and there was no blood; the forest had lit up from the green-twinking sparks. He was confused, yet he quickly put his hand on his forehead, and he showed no sign of injuries. Furthermore, the mark on his palm is glowing constantly as if something had reacted with it. "Lucas?" his voice was filled with confusion. He thought Lucas was sleeping, but then he remembered it, a female voice! Without a second wasted, he turned around and mimed the material art he had seen, while examining everything thoroughly, one of his hands reached for the dagger dangling at his belt's back as though he was always prepared for battle.

"Don't be so aware, I mean no harm to you." It was that voice again, mysterious yet despairing like he was. Velmir didn't realize that he had put the dagger down; he moved to the waterfall, trying to find a mirrored soul. Even though it was only a few steps, everything was so lively, butterflies, rabbits, all gathered around the nearby waterfall, or a woman, to be exact.

She sat beside the rushing flows, where water sparks lay over stone and grass, the scene was covered in the mysterious purple light of stars. Her existence was unreal - something beyond this world. Glittering green and blue sparks floated around her like little sprites dancing with their beloved ones, illuminating her silhouette in the midnight, and carrying her warm scent into the air.

Her snow-white hair fluttered in the winds, cascading down her lonely back in soft, curled waves. Birds perched on her hands without fear, all silent in reverence. They seem to be drawn to her like flowers to sunlight.

The moment she turned back to look at Velmir, the world was thought to have paused, deep green sapphire eyes framed by soft, long lashes, shimmered with an elegant allure. Her skin glowed with a soft luminescence that delighted the night as if she were blessed by the stars themself. He was stunned by her beauty, yet he saw something..." Horns!? Is she a dragon?" He asked himself while questioning her nature.

Having seen Velmir, she stood up and went to him. She was tall and her body was as charming as the most precious treasure that was given to this world. He, on the other hand, was shocked by her beauty and stood still before her voice broke the silence.

"You can't control them if your Ignis is this pure." - It was a sweet voice, veling a glamour tone that neither she nor anyone knew. She held his hand while looking at it. For Velmir, he was lost in thought, but it didn't take him long to sharpen his mind. He knew that this girl could be his key to manipulating water, so he let her be.

After a few minutes, she finally spoke with a smile and faded away in Velmir's confusion, leaving him alone in the forest. "We shall meet again, The Wanderer."

"No, not yet, please teach me how to control it!" He said pleadingly, but there was no miracle. "Ahh..." He gave a disappointed sigh, but quickly came back to learn.

"She said my ignus was too pure, how can I restrain it?"

"Memorize it, Velmir!"

"The flow of Ignis in your veins."

"Huh..veins? What if I let it flow into all my blood veins?"

He came up with an idea, yet there was nothing to prove this could work, but still, he wanted to give it a try. He sat down, closed his eyes, and concentrated on the flow inside his body. From his heart, the blue threads of Ignis slowly spread into his body; it was everywhere. He felt it; his body was never this strong, yet the Ignis was not as tough as it always was. However, the moment he thought this would work, his body collapsed, blood spilled out of his mouth, and his senses told him that his body was almost shattered into pieces.

Velmir panicked; he almost died, yet he discovered something. "Ignis can enhance physical ability!" He ignored his pain and said in joy. He had discovered something that could grant him the power he needed. He layed on the ground, staring at the sky with a pleased smile and slowly fall asleep.

"I can finally have a chance at coming back to Earth!"

"Mom, Dad, wait for me!"

"About her, is she alright?"

"Does she miss me?"

"I wonder, what is she doing now...Ah, I miss her."

"Soo Yeoha...."

In another place, Lucas was running with insane speed around the forest, killing assassins from afar, keeping Velmir safe. "They are sending more.... I have to protect him." Suddenly, a mysterious person rushed to his place and scratched him, but still he was able to dodge and move back perfectly.

"....that speed...how surprising, I didn't think they would send a chain 5 Madness here..."

"But it seems like your spirit is weak; you're no match for me."

The moment he finished commenting, his opponents fell to the ground and slowly stood up, gathered in front of him without a spark in their eyes. "Tell me who told you to kill him." Lucas looked at the standing person with cold-blooded eyes, but right when they were about to tell him the truth, their body exploded.

Flesh and blood splashed everywhere, covering the mist with the color red. Before the explosion happened, he moved to a nearby tree, watching the scene with a cup made out of their blood. "A curse or an oath? No, it doesn't matter if he died. The prophecy has begun; he has to grow more."

In a matter of seconds, Lucas was at Velmir's place. He quickly held his hand and checked his palm. "It hadn't begun yet?" He questioned with a worried face and sat against the nearby tree. He looked at Velmir with a caring manner before pulling out a card that named The Black Hole. "I'll protect your son..... Hesline Winterfall"
