Chapter 217: Arisa's Magic
"Seriously? A portal to another world? Are you saying it is not just a realm where monsters pour out and cause chaos and danger on people and livelihood?" I asked.
"I don't know the specific details since I didn't enter the portal as I have no means of going back safely. But according to the guards talking, it was not a portal like the ones you describe. More like a gate that leads to another world much similar to ours but also a bit different. I can't confirm it myself, but that should be the case if I base it from the words of the guards."
"If you did get to sneak on the guards, how did you managed to get yourself undetected by them? Most of them have a detection skill named Mana Scan active most of the time, so it is impossible to not be detected by them especially that they can detect the sneakiest people immediately."
"I don't know. They didn't detect me when I sneaked into the alleyway. They seemed to be too lax than I thought if that is the case for not being able to detect my presence at all."
Wait, I don't think they are too lax at all. If I think it is what it was, her skill of invisibility has a property to avoid detection I think? I am not too sure since she she didn't know too much except that she can do invisibility magic to herself. If the magic is a higher tier than the normal magic of invisibility, then she can perform different acts using that magic spell.
"Can you transfer the invisibility magic you use to other people or more than one person with yourself at the same time?" I asked.
"I don't know. I never tried doing so since you all keep on saying that you can't use magic against normal people and you can't expose magic to others too. That is why I didn't try to do so and just practiced this magic all by myself."
She has a point. I forgot that she is still not considered by the Magicians as a proper one. However, we needed to confirm to what extent is the limit of her invisibility skill as it can be really helpful to a team or just limited to herself.
"Then let's test it. We can also register you to the magician society as a proper magician and not viewed by the official ones as a rogue magician. It is also good to do this to make sure to know the limits of your power," I said to her.
"Ah, then before that, I have another magic spell that I needed to show you," she said before making weird gestures on her fingers in the air.
"Huh? What are you doing?"
"Just watch please," she smiled and continue doing so.
In a few seconds, a familiar-looking magic circle appeared on the floor, glowing in green color while it is spinning around.
"A waypoint teleportation circle?!"
"I don't know what you call on this but it is indeed a circle that can teleport you to a certain place and back for as long as I wanted to."
"That is way too convenient!"
"Huh? Aren't magicians able to do this kind of thing?" Arisa looked confused.
"No, it's different. We can indeed make this kind of magic circle but we need to do it manually unlike yours that you just needed a few gestures to create a fully functioning magic circle for teleportation!"
"That hard?!"
"Yeah, that is why that magic is kind of convenient. So how long of a distance can you set up a waypoint magic circle?"
"Hmm, I think there is no limit. As long as I have visited that place and put a waypoint on that area, I can easily go back and forth without any problem."
I got shocked hearing that. That is just a little bit too much for teleportation magic that is designed to be drawn manually.
...
We discussed a lot more about it and most of Arisa's magic spells involve the usage of space magic and void magic. She is more on the support side of magic and this made me think highly of her abilities.
"So why did you talk to me about it just now? And why are you looking for Kazuma?"
"You probably didn't know about this before but Kazuma and I fought before and he used too much force on it. That is also the time when some of the demons arrived and attacked us."
"You must be talking about the demon invasion that happened here in Tokyo not too long ago because that is the only thing that matches your description. Wait a minute, so that means you got the memories that were wiped out using the Mind Wipe?! Is that even possible?!"
"I don't know but whatever I have done before, I wanted to apologize to Kazuma all about it. If whatever he is doing right now is hard, I wanted to help him and repay all the troubles I have done."
"But what can you do? Its an unknown where he is right now and if he ever is inside that portal to another world, what is the chance of us meeting him in that world? It should be vast enough."
She didn't reply and sighed. I scratch my head with this and was troubled whether we should find Kazuma despite the mission that was given to him.
I bid farewell to Arisa but I told her that I will be fetching her tomorrow to get a proper registration in the magician society. That way, she will have to be treated as a magician by others and to also enhance her understanding of her abilities.
When I got back to Kazuma's place to visit Anya and Maple, I heard Anya's voice in the living room.
"I needed to follow brother wherever he was."
"But we don't know where he is, Anya. How do we even find him if he is out on a mission?"
"When he found me before, he received my father's blessings, allowing me to also detect him. If I wanted to, I can easily track him down wherever he was."
Hearing those words from Anya, the gears in my mind started turning and I finally found something I have to do.
