Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Mission Complete

"Looks like after the main course, I still get to enjoy a little dessert."

Kibutsuji Muzan's monstrous hand reached out and seized both Nezuko and Izumi, yanking them toward him. His eyes burned with frenzy as he stared at Nezuko, an ecstatic madness in his expression. Then his mouth opened wide no, wider than a human mouth ever should. It was a grotesque, gaping maw with rows upon rows of fanged teeth, one set inside another, like jaws nested within jaws.

But just as Muzan was about to toss Nezuko into that hideous mouth, she finally pressed the switch on the xenon lamp.

A brilliant beam of light shot directly onto Muzan's body.

"Ahhh! Wh-what is this?! Sunlight? This is sunlight? Impossible! It's the middle of the night!"

His body began to melt away rapidly. The parts that hadn't yet disintegrated began splitting into fleshy lumps, each one attempting to scatter and escape just like he had done years ago when fleeing from Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

At the same time, Izumi activated her own xenon lamp. But she didn't aim it at Muzan. Kevin Cross had instructed her beforehand: if Nezuko used her lamp on Muzan and Nakime was still alive, then Izumi's target was Nakime.

Her beam struck Nakime, who stood nearby in stunned disbelief, paralyzed by shock.

Crack!

Nakime didn't have Muzan's resilience. Her body disintegrated into ash almost instantly.

With Nakime's death, the entire Infinity Castle collapsed.

Nezuko, Izumi, and the fragmented remains of Muzan were hurled out of the shattered dimension and back into the real world.

Under normal circumstances, Muzan's countless flesh clones might still have been able to escape.

But the moment he reappeared, dozens of high-powered xenon lights flared to life.

The Demon Slayer Corps had long prepared for this moment, positioning xenon lamps throughout their headquarters. They were placed with such care that no part of the compound was left in shadow. Every corner was illuminated.

Muzan fell from the sky like a meteor into the heart of a sun. His every cell was seared, every escape route consumed in radiance.

At that very moment, the chat group finally responded again.

"Mission: Defeat Kibutsuji Muzan - Completed."

"Group Leader Kevin Cross provided xenon lamps. Reward: 14,000 points."

"Member Izumi Uchiha: 1,000 points."

"Member Saeko Busujima: 1,000 points."

"Member Kumoko: 1,000 points."

"Member Brunhilde: 1,000 points."

"Member Shinobu Kocho: 1,000 points."

"Member Izumi: 1,000 points."

Everyone received something, though the point distribution clearly favored one person.

Kevin Cross stared at his 14,000 points, the system's message explaining that his reward was so high because he had provided the xenon lamps. Those lamps had played a pivotal role arguably the decisive factor in destroying Muzan. The others had fought the Upper Moons directly, and many had done so without using xenon lamps at all, yet those battles had only indirectly contributed to Muzan's fall.

Thus, while each of the six women earned a symbolic reward of 1,000 points, Kevin received the lion's share.

The others noticed this too. At first glance, most of them frowned. But then they seemed to understand. The system had made it clear: the one who provided the key tool earned the biggest reward. Kevin's contribution wasn't just critical it had been indispensable.

And now they understood something deeper about how the chat group awarded points.

Even if Kevin hadn't lifted a finger in battle, his contribution had been the most strategically vital. From now on, they might follow his example focusing not just on combat, but also on planning, logistics, and providing the crucial tools that could turn the tide.

With the mission complete, the Demon Slayer Corps held a massive victory banquet. Every member was invited, and of course, Kevin and his companions were among the honored guests.

After the celebration, Brunhilde and the others returned to their own worlds. Kevin, Saeko, and Izumi, however, chose to stay behind for two more days.

As for what they did during those two days… well, some things are better left unspoken. Those who understand, understand.

Kevin sat quietly, staring at his 14,000-point windfall, unsure what to do with it. Strengthening himself with it didn't feel like the best option.

After all, Kevin's unique ability meant that whenever he had an intimate connection with a woman, not only would her power receive a tremendous boost, but he would also inherit her full strength in return.

So, the most efficient way to use these points would be to give them to one of the women. Let her become stronger then spend a night together. That way, both parties would benefit, and Kevin's strength would skyrocket.

But here lay the problem: who should receive the points?

The chat group had more than one woman in it. If he gave points to just one, the others might feel slighted. Even if he split the points equally, it would still cause problems if one person received more than the others.

Favoring someone too often would inevitably lead to jealousy. Even if no one said it aloud, resentment would fester. That could damage the harmony of the group.

On the other hand, dividing the points too thinly would mean nobody gained much strength. Even if Kevin then spent time with them, the strength he inherited would be minimal. In the end, a focused investment either in one partner or himself would be the most efficient route.

So the dilemma was real.

If Kevin used the points on himself, his strength would rise, but his companions would be left behind. That power gap could also cause friction.

How could one have it both ways? As the saying goes, "In this world, is there any perfect solution that satisfies both Buddha and beauty?"

No matter which path he chose, something would be lost.

After a long moment of thought, Kevin decided he would take the slower road for the sake of the group. Let his own progress lag, if necessary. After all, the era of the superpowered heroes hadn't arrived yet. For now, his current strength was more than enough.

NEXT CHAPTER : Distributing the Points

(Kevin Cross decides to keep a low profile in the chaotic Marvel universe, but just as he relaxes, Tony Stark goes missing signaling the start of the superhero era. Instead of powering himself up, Kevin generously distributes his hard-earned points to the group's girls, sparking hilarious chaos (and questionable comments) in the chat. But his generosity isn't just kindness it's strategic. With stronger allies, he gains even more through their bond. Now each girl has 3,000 points to evolve, and new cross-world powers are about to awaken… What insane upgrades (and mischief) will come next?)
