Chat Group : Another Fate From Honkai

Chapter 258 — The Moon

———————————————————————

[In the original timeline, the battle between the First Herrscher and the Second Herrscher ended with a weapon designed by Dr. Einstein to kill gods—the Silver Bullet.]

———————————————————————

In other words, the atomic bomb.

That was the beginning of Welt's grueling training—creating endless mechs and technological weapons with the Herrscher of Reason's power, clashing head-on against Sirin.

Yet, being human, unable to fully synchronize with the Herrscher core, his body was pushed to its limits.

But Welt's relentless resistance and his ability to sap away Sirin's power eventually drove the Second Herrscher to the brink of collapse.

In that desperate state, Sirin used the last of her strength to manipulate space, trying to relocate the nuclear device.

But energy on such an overwhelming scale disrupts spatial parameters.

When Sirin forced the nuclear explosion underground, her strength was utterly drained—and she was critically wounded by the blast wave that followed.

If not for the "Clown," who ambushed Welt just as he prepared to finish Sirin with the Star of Eden at zero rated power, the Second Eruption might have ended right there.

"Which is why," Nagami murmured, her lilac hair swaying gently, as Otto writhed beneath a barrage of Void Spears pinning him to the ground, "as repayment for saving Sirin back then… I'll give you a Silver Bullet of your own."

Her slender hand rose slowly.

The artificial dimension she had woven unraveled at her command, vanishing like mist.

"…!!!"

Welt, still floating beside her, frowned in confusion at the sudden mention of the Silver Bullet.

But when he turned his head sharply, his eyes widened.

From "Sirin," a surge of all-too-familiar power flowed forth.

Ethereal blue light particles shimmered into existence, coalescing into a massive, coldly gleaming bullet.

"This is…!!"

The shape was unmistakable—Welt recognized it instantly.

What shocked him was not the bullet itself, but the person standing before him—the one who had bartered with his future self for a Herrscher core.

That this boy could wield the Herrscher of Reason's power to such a degree… was beyond belief.

Welt had, of course, considered reconstructing the Silver Bullet himself.

But even with Einstein's help, perfectly controlling the nuclear energy reaction required to recreate it was a monumental challenge.

Meanwhile, Otto—bound by flexible strips of Void Spears like chains twitched at the corner of his lips as he stared at the massive bullet overhead.

The Second Herrscher must be insane.

There was no mistake: she was targeting him.

But even Otto couldn't fathom why.

By all logic, the Second Herrscher shouldn't even know who he was.

Yet the suffocating presence of pure Herrscher energy around her left no doubt—this was no disguise, no trick of another faction.

"What in the world is going on here…?"

He had long since abandoned the idea of negotiating with her.

Now, watching the nuclear weapon fall, Otto's brows furrowed deeply.

Losing a soulium body meant little to him—but this bizarre, unpredictable situation struck him with something far more intolerable than pain.

Frustration.

For the first time in a long time, Otto felt his control slipping.

And then—

It was as if the sun itself had crashed to earth.

Blinding light swallowed the frozen wasteland, vaporizing snow and ice within several kilometers.

A mushroom cloud rose into the sky, and when the light finally faded, only a massive crater remained.

The bomb hadn't been large.

"Sirin" had no intention of creating a lingering radiation disaster—just enough to erase Otto and leave behind evidence of a nuclear blast.

History, wherever possible, had to be preserved.

Waving her hand, "Sirin" cleansed the radiation from the air with concentrated Honkai energy.

Then she turned to Welt, who was still staring blankly at her.

"In the previous era, Honkai's power was far stronger than what you see today. But humanity had its own 'cheat player.' Her name was Mei."

She raised her hand, pointing toward the night sky.

"As a human, she touched the edge of truth itself, creating the most powerful Honkai energy conversion device—the Throne of the Moonlight. It was meant to fight against the very end of civilization."

Her amethyst eyes softened, but her tone remained solemn.

"But against the Honkai… even cheats don't last. That civilization still perished. Yet in their final moments, they sealed away a fragment of the End's power—on the moon."

Nagami extended a delicate finger toward the bright, rising full moon above them.

"My next step is to follow the original course of history. I'll travel to the moon, retrieve the four Herrscher gems sealed there, and once we've evacuated the cities near those locations—I'll rain meteors down upon them."

Welt's expression hardened, his voice grave.

"I understand. I'll notify the Executors immediately."

He paused, then added with hesitation:

"But… Anti-Entropy alone may not be enough."

Compared to Schicksal, Anti-Entropy was powerful, yes—but its scale was far smaller.

After all, it had only begun as a splinter faction of Schicksal itself.

Although Anti-Entropy had grown considerably over time, it still wasn't quite strong enough to rally the nations of the world into full cooperation.

"Don't worry. Schicksal's Saint, Cecilia, will aid you. Here—this is her contact information."

With a crisp snap of her fingers, "Sirin" directly implanted the details into Welt's mind.

At the same time, she manifested another copy of feather from Fenghuang Down and bound it to him.

"Once the evacuations are complete, use this to contact me."

From within the imaginary space, the judgment-class Honkai beast Benares roared forth.

Riding atop the colossal dragon, "Sirin" soared into the sky.

If history had continued as it should, the one who would grant Benares its human-like intelligence and strength was supposed to be Sirin.

But now? That role had shifted to Nagami.

Nagami had never seen the true Bella, but if he shaped it according to the image from his memories of Honkai Impact 3rd, it would be close enough.

Still, a Honkai beast was a Honkai beast.

Turning it fully human wasn't… appropriate. At least, it shouldn't be.

"And aside from Bella," "Sirin" mused, rubbing her chin, "I recall that Sirin used the Herrscher of Reason's power to 'revive' her three little companions too…

But where on earth am I supposed to find those actors? I can't seriously go on stage myself when I'm supposed to be the director of this whole show, right?"

For her, creating physical bodies with the Herrscher of Reason's ability was effortless.

And if she added the Herrscher of Knowledge's authority to control them remotely, it would be just like what Sirin did earlier—puppet-like avatars, her own kind of stand-ins.

"Tch. Looks like that's my only option."

Her ink-black eyes flashed gold for an instant, arcs of vibrant electricity dancing along their edges.

A massive spatial gateway appeared, crackling with power.

The mighty dragon unfurled its vast wings, carrying the not-quite-real, not-quite-false Herrscher of the Void through.

Herrschers could survive in the vacuum of space, but even so, Benares's flight speed couldn't compare to teleportation.

Alongside the four Herrscher gems was sealed a fragment of the Honkai's very will. Hardly a threat, at least not to her.

Between Code Geass, the power of the Void, and the Herrscher of Knowledge's dominion over soul and will—when stacked together, even the Honkai's "consciousness" was nothing she couldn't crush.

On the barren far side of the moon, space rippled and distorted like water.

From the gate emerged a green-haired girl and the colossal dragon, their forms outlined by the shimmer of twisted reality.

Benares beat its wings, maw spreading wide in a snarl bristling with jagged fangs the instant it laid eyes on C.C.

But a single tap of "Sirin"'s foot halted the dragon's roar.

"Bella, she is not an enemy."

Gently stroking Benares's scaled head, "Sirin" turned, flying shoulder to shoulder with C.C. as they descended.

The ruins of a bygone era sprawled beneath them, ancient architecture eroded by millennia yet still recognizable in silhouette, stark against the cratered lunar surface.

Several spatial shifts later, they arrived deep within the ruins.

A dim light flickered to life.

Golden crystals, embedded in the cracks of carved stone walls, glimmered as "Sirin" and C.C. approached, illuminating what remained of this once-glorious chamber.

At its heart, a radiant six-pointed star spun slowly, emitting a pure violet glow.

Both of them frowned in unison.

The Honkai consciousness surrounding the four gems… was far stronger than anticipated.

Stronger, even, than the birth of the Herrscher of Domination.

But what unsettled her most was the absence of hostility.

This… wasn't right.

"Sirin" extended both avatars' hands toward the gems, grasping all four at once.

In the same instant, she unleashed Code.
