Chat Group : Another Fate From Honkai

Chapter 160: Chapter 157 — Fusion Ascension – The Principle of the Void

Honkai energy, in mathematical terms, is a form of imaginary internal energy derived from collapsed dimensions—it originates from the imaginary space itself.

This is power that can truly be called infinite.

A Herrscher Core is capable of connecting to that imaginary space.

Thus, theoretically, the Honkai energy of a Herrscher is also limitless.

However, whether it's a single core or even multiple, a Herrscher still has a limit to how much energy they can output.

This limit is defined as the Zeroth Rated Output—the maximum strength that can be released at once.

While it is possible to devour other Herrscher Cores to compensate for shortcomings, it is far from a perfect solution.

The so-called "Six-Core Pufferfish" incident made this abundantly clear.

If the limit could be simply stacked by adding cores, then there's no way Fu Hua could have knocked that six-core beast offline with a single strike of the Taixu Sword God.

This output ceiling ties back to the host body's adaptability to Honkai energy—and that is precisely where Nagami differs from all previous Herrschers.

In fact, this is what fundamentally separates Nagami from all Herrschers before him.

Take Welt Joyce, for instance—he was vastly stronger than Welt Yang.

According to Honkai archives, the pinnacle feat of the Void Archives Herrscher Core was creating a protective shield the size of a 40-kilometer-wide Key of God, Eden's Star.

And that feat? Welt Joyce accomplished it while heavily wounded, under intense multi-party support, and at the cost of his life.

That level of output was already far beyond what the Void Archives could handle—it pushed the system to the brink.

So, for anyone in the Honkai world, it is impossible to endlessly increase the Herrscher of Reason's power simply through study or training.

After all, the Herrscher of Reason was the First Herrscher, the first trial of civilization. It was never meant to be so difficult that it would wipe out humanity from the start.

In other words, the later a Herrscher appears in the lineup, the higher their theoretical output ceiling—until the arrival of The End.

Even Fire Moth's fusion warriors had to push themselves beyond their limits to defeat Herrscher of Domination.

And the Herrscher of Binding in the previous era was taken down through sheer attrition—assuming their opponent even went all out.

But Nagami stands on a different level, surpassing even Welt Joyce by several magnitudes.

While the Third Herrscher girl had her Honkai energy capacity weakened due to Nagami's interference at her awakening, her output limit remained unaffected.

Thanks to devouring all Honkai energy from Nagazora City and absorbing the consciousness within the Herrscher of Reason's core, Nagami's upper limit saw a significant boost.

Even so, a limit lock imposed by the Honkai Will still remained.

Now, Nagami tightened the Void Crystal Band, glowing with a moon-silver light, wrapping it firmly around the Herrscher Core.

A soft, sweet sensation touched his lips—the unique freshness of a young girl's lips, tender like sugar-spun cotton candy.

Yet Nagami had no time to dwell on it.

"As your king, I command you—Apocalypse, assist me in breaking through the internal seal of the core!"

His thoughts echoed within the collective consciousness of the Apocalypse virus network.

A faint hum responded from the void.

The once crystal-clear core now showed signs of invisible matter forming inside.

A booming resonance surged through the Apocalypse virus's hive mind, shaking the very foundations of space.

Empowered by the mark of the Void and the resonance between Nagami's soul and the virus's awareness, an impossible feat was achieved—their will pierced into a Herrscher Core that should be impenetrable.

If Nagami were a thief, then the world of Honkai Impact 3rd was the home of the Honkai Will.

The Herrscher Core of Reason was like a prized treasure locked in a vault.

And no one would dare steal it under the very gaze of its owner.

But now, this mad thief had stolen not just the treasure—but the entire vault—and dragged it to another world to crack it open with his allies.

The result was inevitable.

The once-blue core began to crystallize with streaks of purple.

In moments, it had transformed entirely into a blue-violet gem.

If Nagami had only relied on his own power, even in another world, he could not have broken this seal.

But with the Apocalypse virus on his side, the impossible became reality.

Countless Void Particles flowed from Nagami's soul, becoming scattered stardust that streamed into the Herrscher Core.

They overflowed and wrapped around the core until it resembled a brilliant galactic vortex.

This was the Void that Nagami had yet to fully form, now being fused with the core under his command as king.

Void Armaments are born from souls infected by the Apocalypse virus.

Those uninfected possess no Void within them.

Nagami's soul, however, was both vast and steadily evolving—albeit slowly.

It would take time for the Apocalypse to construct a proper Void for someone like him.

Still, given the strength of Nagami's soul, the resulting Void would be nothing short of formidable.

But... the problem was that Nagami's powers were already far too mixed and chaotic:

'Code Geass, Herrscher authority, Rewriting Eye, M||A energy...'

Rather than create yet another Void from scratch, it would be far more efficient to take this chance—this moment of breaking the core's limit lock—and amplify everything in one massive surge!

The blue-violet core began to change once more, now deep and infinite like the cosmos itself.

Nagami's unformed Void etched itself into the core like a constellation-strewn sky, filling it with radiant starlight.

Under the combined forces of the Apocalypse virus and the power of kingship, it rapidly grew and merged with the Herrscher Core.

Herrscher of Reason Core.

Void King's Power.

Fusion Ascension.

The Principle of the Void!

Now, this "Void Principle" core was no longer under the control of the Honkai Will—no longer restrained by its limitations.

Not even the Honkai God could connect to this core anymore.

It now truly belonged to Nagami—and only to him.

There would never be another host body for this core. It was bound solely to his soul.

A limit still existed, yes—but this time, the limit came from Nagami himself.

It was the total output that his soul alone could sustain.

At this stage, Nagami—who had already consumed part of the Honkai God's soul—had an incredibly high power ceiling.

So, while this breakthrough didn't yield any visually dramatic results, it resolved something far more important: the hidden instability behind his power.

Most significantly, the Herrscher of Reason's abilities had been further enhanced.

Now, not only could Nagami replicate matter that he understood—he could even replicate mystic phenomena he comprehended.

His relationship with the Third Herrscher had always been close.

He often summoned her just to "borrow" her abilities without asking too many questions.

Nagami had long since fully analyzed the Herrscher of Thunder's powers.

Technically speaking, the lightning he had been using up to now wasn't actually drawn from electromagnetic fields—it was simulated using Honkai energy.

Since all Herrscher powers were fundamentally Honkai-based, he could mimic them through common origin.

But now, everything had changed.

With a different core—and total synchronization—Nagami didn't just simulate the Third Herrscher.

He was the Third Herrscher in essence.

He now had complete control over the manipulation of electromagnetic fields.

If he could analyze the powers of other Herrschers, he could likewise reproduce their abilities.

For example: if he managed to analyze Kurumi Tokisaki's Zafkiel in Date A Live, he could use the Principle of the Void to recreate Zafkiel itself.

The Herrscher of Reason possessed Code-like logic and even time-based powers…

Who could possibly kill Nagami now?

This was the true final form of the most "unkillable" Herrscher in history.

Of course, being able to replicate something was one thing—being able to analyze it was another.

Due to his deep understanding of Honkai energy and long-term research, Nagami could fully control the powers of the Herrscher of Thunder.

But powers that involved time manipulation… that was another tier entirely.

How long it would take to fully parse something like that was anyone's guess.

It could be a very, very long road…

After a while eventually, their lips parted.

"For a first meeting, don't you think that was a little too intimate?" Nagami teased, one arm wrapping tightly around the slender waist of "Yuzuriha Inori."

Her body was soft and delicate, like spun sugar—one might think it would break under the slightest pressure.

The faint fragrance that lingered in the air was unmistakably hers—sweet and natural, the scent of a young girl.

"Not at all." The girl's smooth hand gently caressed Nagami's cheek. Her cherry lips curved into a smile.

"I'm the Queen, and you're the King. I'm Eve, and you're Adam. Aren't we supposed to be the closest of companions~?"

Pink sakura lips, breath tinged with heat, and a voice so soft and sultry it would've been impossible for the real Inori to utter—it was seductive, mature, and unmistakably not the innocent girl from before.

"Well… I suppose I'm honored."

This "Mana Ouma"—the Eve born from fusion with the Apocalypse Virus—felt an unnatural affection toward Shu Ouma because the virus had magnified her innermost feelings.

Now that the Apocalypse had made a pact with Nagami, that affection naturally shifted toward him.

The original Mana Ouma had been a kind and pure-hearted girl.

But the being standing before him now was a Queen, crafted from fragments of Mana's soul and fused with the will of the virus.

"But… I kinda miss little Inori. Mind switching out and letting her come back?" Nagami asked casually.

Any outsider watching might have immediately branded him a scumbag.

"Oh? The King is so heartless," Mana whispered with a pout. "What's so great about that cheap copy anyway? Everything she can do, I can do too."

She pressed tightly into Nagami's chest, extending her soft tongue to teasingly lick the side of his neck.

"Is that so? Then take me across dimensions," he replied flatly.

Her movements stopped cold.

The confident seductress froze, clearly not expecting to be slapped with reality so quickly.

Mana's expression instantly fell.

Shadows seemed to gather on her face as her eyes turned dark with resentment—like a scorned woman left alone in a silent chamber.

"Anyway," Nagami added cheerfully, as if he hadn't noticed the change in her mood, "If Inori ever gets into danger again, I expect you to protect her right away. That's a royal order~"

Mana exhaled deeply, as though trying to push out all her frustration at once.

As much as she hated it, the King's authority did outrank hers.

"…Understood."

The words came through clenched teeth, barely above a whisper. But she couldn't disobey.

The bloody red in her eyes faded, giving way to a clear, glass-like purity.

"Nagami…"

That familiar, ethereal voice returned.

Yuzuriha Inori instinctively shrank her shoulders and clung tightly to Nagami, arms around him like she never wanted to let go.

"Welcome back, Inori."

Nagami ran a hand gently through her silky pink hair, while the other hand softly patted her snow-pale back.

She felt warm, real, and alive in his embrace.

"There's nothing to worry about. You should've seen how the conversation ended. Mana can't disobey me, so don't overthink it. You are you."

The girl's trembling slowly subsided under Nagami's calm reassurances.

"No matter what happens, I'll always be by your side."

His voice was peaceful but resolute.

And just like that, it swept away the last of Inori's confusion.

"…Mhm." A faint smile flickered in her eyes as she closed them peacefully, content.

The arrival of Mana had only accelerated Inori's emotional growth.

"…Nagami, I'm hungry."

The quiet, heartwarming atmosphere was shattered in an instant.

After all, it hadn't been long since she got out of the recovery pod.

Her body still needed plenty of nourishment.

"…I've got food. Go rinse your mouth first."

Inori obediently ran off to rinse her mouth, then returned to find Nagami setting down two beautifully packaged meals on the small table.

Herrschers didn't technically need to eat—but as a certified foodie, Nagami believed it was a sacred duty to sample every delicacy a new world had to offer.

The two of them sat side by side on the bed, picking away at the food as they chatted softly.

"Oh right, Inori… I'm going to step out for a bit."

Nagami dabbed his mouth with a napkin, then gently ruffled her hair.

"The Apocalypse Virus showed a lot of sincerity today—so it's only right I show the same. Stay here, alright? Don't go wandering off. When I get back, we'll head to Kotori's world together."

"…Okay. Inori understands."

She nodded sweetly and reluctantly let go of his hand.

"See you soon~"

With a casual wave, the Origin Stone floated into his hand.

As a radiant white light from the traversal card bloomed, Nagami's figure vanished into the sunlight—off to another world once again.
