Chat Group : Another Fate From Honkai

Chapter 153: Chapter 150 — The Power of the Void

"What are you trying to do?!"

The Gravekeeper's face twisted in alarm as he felt the intense corrosive energy clinging to the walls of the cage around him.

"Don't waste your breath. I am an immortal existence!"

As the embodiment of biological elimination, the Gravekeeper—though not purely divine was indeed undying and indestructible.

At least… in this world.

"Death? Life? You're thinking too small. I am the Herrscher of Peace. Fighting and killing just feels… so uncivilized."

With the power of the Code and the Geass of Being Loved, Nagami was practically a natural predator for entities like the Gravekeeper—consciousness-based collectives.

Still, Nagami had absolutely zero intention of using the "Being Loved" Geass on any male creature.

Having a male simp clinging to him 24/7, begging for affection?

Just imagining it sent chills down his spine.

'The Herrscher of Peace?'

The Gravekeeper frowned as Nagami smiled wide, eyes glinting with the same feverish excitement those mad scientists always had when discovering something new.

His lips twitched involuntarily.

'Yeah right, like hell I'm buying that.'

He didn't know exactly what a Herrscher was, but anyone who wore that expression was definitely no symbol of peace.

Suddenly, alarms blared across the facility below.

Spotlights cut through the ink-black night like floodlights on a stage, casting the entire area in artificial daylight.

"Ah, so they've finally noticed the breach?"

Given the textbook-level stealth operation he'd pulled off, the enemy taking this long to detect him was actually pretty reasonable.

Nagami's long blue coat fluttered wildly in the wind, tossing his bangs with it.

With a casual wave of his hand, the energy cage holding the Gravekeeper followed him upward as they both shot into the sky.

Once high enough, a luminous platform made of crystallized Honkai energy materialized in the air.

Nagami landed gently atop it.

His half-lidded eyes snapped open.

"This is...!"

The Gravekeeper's form flickered as he dodged the glowing purple six-pointed star formation that appeared before him.

Only after evading it did he realize—it wasn't even an attack.

What came along with that engraved formation, however, was an intense and omnipresent sensation of being watched.

"I had originally planned to look for you later… but since you've delivered yourself, I won't complain."

Nagami's Alpha Stigma Eyes activated at full power, analyzing the Gravekeeper's structure and composition.

A massive stream of photonic data flooded his mind—so much so that even his dual-core brain started to feel overwhelmed.

"Relax. I'm not going to do anything to you. Just sit tight for a bit."

Of course, without using Geass, Nagami couldn't actually contain a divine consciousness like the Gravekeeper.

But there was no need to.

The Gravekeeper glanced at Nagami—trapped, yet confused as the boy made no further moves.

Then, the radiant six-pointed stars in Nagami's eyes began to rotate slowly.

A sense of unrelenting scrutiny washed over the Gravekeeper—piercing past all defenses, straight into the soul.

"You're… peering into my soul?!"

"As expected from a consciousness-born being—you're quite sensitive to this sort of thing."

Nagami's praise was genuine.

He met the Gravekeeper's gaze without hesitation.

"What the hell do you want from me?"

"Don't speak. Sit still. I'll let you go when I'm done."

Of course, Nagami's "a little while" was equivalent to a teacher saying "just five more minutes" at the end of class.

Time passed in silence.

Fully analyzing the Gravekeeper in such a short span was impossible.

So Nagami shifted his focus, diving deeper into specific components that piqued his interest.

"This… is it the power of the Apocalypse Virus?"

He muttered as if speaking to himself.

Just one glance at the moon-silver glow could knock an ordinary person unconscious—it contained far more information than the human mind could process.

Staring into this strange dimension, Nagami's fingers twitched.

He really wanted to experiment a little.

After all, theory without practice was meaningless.

True understanding came from doing.

But if he used Honkai energy to probe deeper, he might damage the specimen.

He frowned, rubbing his slightly throbbing forehead, and fell into thought.

'Can't use Honkai energy… M/A energy is too limited, not really effective at interacting with souls...'

'That leaves—Void power.'

His analyzing pace slowed.

Reaching into his inventory, Nagami took out two tubes of the Void Genome, his eyes glinting thoughtfully.

The soul-related properties within the genome were still beyond his current understanding.

As such, he couldn't directly reproduce them with Herrscher of Reason abilities.

Still, the incomplete second genome… that, at least, he could work with.

Blue-glowing particles began to swirl around him, gradually converging into the test tube.

Inside, a vibrant liquid shimmered like starlight as the second genome neared completion.

It wasn't even technically difficult—just copying the completed first genome.

Nagami was saving the first one for Inori.

Normally, Eve couldn't possess the Power of Kings.

That was supposed to belong to Adam alone.

But since Inori had already used the "Fated One" chat system, that problem was now easily solved.

"Hah… all done."

Exhaling softly, Nagami looked at the red, dreamlike liquid glowing in the vial.

Without hesitation, he picked up the syringe and plunged the needle into his own body.

"How is this possible?! You're clearly not human—so how can you use the Power of Kings?!"

The mocking grin that had just crept across the Gravekeeper's face vanished in an instant.

His expression froze in stunned disbelief as he watched Nagami about to inject the Void Genome into his body.

Shock overwhelmed him, and his pupils trembling with a mix of awe and denial.

'BOOM—!'

From the glowing ring that erupted from Nagami's chest, streams of moon-silver light laced with stardust-like particles surged out.

In an instant, an endless radiance bloomed and intertwined with cold, pure moonlight—spilling into the world like a divine cascade.

Nagami raised his right hand slowly, feeling a brand new power swell from the depths of his soul.

Silver bands of light surged upward, twining around his arm before finally concentrating on the back of his hand—forming a black sigil that resembled both a tree and a blade.

Unfortunately, though this power did originate from the soul, it still required a unique trait extracted from the Apocalypse Virus—refined within the Void Genome.

C.C., who lacked this trait in her body, was unable to use it.

A flash of eerie crimson glimmered briefly in Nagami's eyes.

"You see? I can use it. That proves I am human, right?" A radiant, almost innocent smile lit up his face as he embraced the new power.

"Just now… you were trying to attack my soul, weren't you?"

Still smiling brightly, Nagami floated forward until he was face-to-face with the Gravekeeper.

"Now it's my turn to try this power out."

Activating the special vision of his Alpha Stigma Eyes, Nagami reached out with his right hand toward the Gravekeeper—whose very form appeared to him now as a pure information construct.

"Y-You…!"

The startled voice lasted barely half a second before it was cut off.

Nagami's hand passed effortlessly through the glowing ring at the Gravekeeper's chest—plunging deep into his body.

"So this is Void, huh?"

With a sharp step backward, Nagami flicked his coat dramatically and, in one fluid motion, ripped the Gravekeeper's Void out of him.

If the Gravekeeper had been a pure embodiment of biological consciousness, Nagami wouldn't have been able to extract Void from him.

After all, something that is the same as Void can't contain Void.

But the Gravekeeper wasn't a pure construct—he was formed from a fusion of biological rejection instinct and other, lesser consciousnesses.

It wasn't like being a Soul Reaper—where mixed bloodlines made you stronger.

One of those "other" parts within him likely belonged to his original self—a once-human being named Yuu.

"This is… a capture crossbow?"

Nagami hadn't extracted the Gravekeeper's Void to use it in battle.

What he wanted was to observe and study the manifestation process—how the Power of Kings turned conceptual soul fragments into weapons.

If the Apocalypse Virus could link human consciousness together, the next step would be to create a unified outlet for it—to materialize a collective Void that represented all of humanity's will.

In other words—to create Alaya.

But such a thing couldn't be rushed. It would take time, experimentation, and extremely delicate research.

For now, since Nagami himself hadn't been infected with the Apocalypse Virus, there was no existing Void within his body.

Just earlier, the Gravekeeper had tried to exploit that fact—attempting a direct strike on Nagami's soul.

But instead, he was completely overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of Nagami's spiritual strength.

After examining the captured Void—a weapon shaped like a sleek, futuristic crossbow—Nagami casually tossed it back toward the Gravekeeper.

The moment it left his hand, it dissolved into moon-silver ribbons of light and returned to the Gravekeeper's body.

Nagami gave a satisfied nod, then snapped his fingers.

The cage of Honkai energy vanished instantly.

The Gravekeeper, still stunned, could only stare in disbelief as Nagami's figure melted into the darkness of night.

Tonight had been incredibly fruitful—a perfect haul.

He'd return for now to process everything he had gained… and refine his plan to create Alaya in the Honkai world.

As for the Origin Stone?

That could wait until tomorrow.

With his overwhelming strength, the only thing that might stand in his way now…

Was the Apocalypse Virus itself.
