Chapter 1: The beginning
I come from an family with a strong and long line of prestigious women basketball players as both of my mothers are both known as an dominant forces in the current women's street ball futuristic professional women's nba known as (WSBFPWN).
So i've grown up always having a basketball in my hand since i could remember. But i've also had this disease for as long as i could remember too.
Marking back from my birth even though both of my parents are both healthy. Being that i had gotten this disease with the both of them being healthy. It caused them to worry that it would affect me playing basketball and they were right.
But the doctor told them i could still play but i would be limited. With that my parents drilled in all the aspects of the game as well as what it would take to play the game being that i had this disease known as sickle cell.
They'd just wanted me to continue on the family's prestigious heritage and to keep up the family prestige.
So they put me in the top schools from elementary. And made sure at home i had the best of the best private coaches and doctors along with the equipment need for me to still play basketball.
When they saw that my skills were of an prodigy it had only made them to be even more determined to make sure i could play. But we didn't come to realize just how much this sickness would hamper me or limit me.
But it made it to the point where i could only play one half or missed the entire game of the next one if i played an full game which made my parents hope diminish.
Especially as i was in middle school and it gots worse with every year. To the point of where my parents were just happy that i was playing as i was able to continue our family heritage. But what made it all the bearable was my childhood friend Lucy. Without her i don't know if i could have continued until one day it all came crashing down.
My name is Yang age 16, and this is how i'd be able to start the journey to keep who i love by my side as i continued to play the sport that i love with the strongest system.
It's the year 2065, the world has made major breaks through in technology where we can live up til 300 as were able to enhance our genes with a medicine being called techno enhance.
It comes in 2 categories, one is for your normal every day life as the other is for the competitive sports. To where that we also almost have a cure for every disease but one.
It's called sickle cell. It's a disease thats able to causes your blood cells to not form like everyone else. As it causes you to have pain.
It makes your blood cells to form like the crescent moon.
It can leads to blood clots, strokes, seizures, and cause you to have pain throughout your entire body. It even makes your blood count to fluctuate causing you to have to get some blood infusions as you even have to take medicine for the pain as well.
Being that it's an inherited disease, it's hard to make a cure for it even with the techno enhance medicine.
But thanks to it i hear that through techno enhancement it has helped to improve the rate of people with it compared to the earlier years.
The techno enhance helps to lower the chances of you going through an crisis and help you not rely heavily on the medicine that one has to take.
My family has the competitive techno enhance so each generation physical traits are higher compared to the averge person.
That has the every day techno enhance then again the competitive techno enhance is way out of the price range for an average family.
Begin that i come from a family of women basketball stars. My family is relatively well off plus being that the medicine named repo.
That allows a person to have the opposite gender reproduction system. My family has managed to keep it's heritage and prestige.
We started out like any other family until the break through of the medicine came to.
Leading to why i have two moms that i love as well as care for deeply with all my heart as they love me the same.
As i'm on my way to practice at school i hear my name called from behind me. By an very familiar voice "hey Yang" causing me to smile as i turn around and say "hey Lucy how was your weekend." As she runs up to me and we hug.
Leaving each other embrace Lucy said "it'd been great at my grandparents house as i'd almost sleeped past my alarm today.
Knowing that you would leave at 6:30am to get to practice early like usual. So i have to wake up at 5:00am to make sure that i have enough time to do everything so i don't be late."
You know we can make our meet up time be so you don't have to go through that.
Lucy: "It's fine you know me i'm not an morning person so i need the extra time."
Saying "true" as we arrived at the school as we make our way to the front doors.
(30 minutes later)
As i'm helping Lucy stretch she ask "hey Yang...have...you taken your medicine for the day...right?...so you can practice today."
Nodding my head "yes i did as i also feel good today so i should have an good day at practice."
Lucy: Smiling while i turn my head, and say "that means we get to play together right Yang."
Smiling back and as i "yea, but you know the coach...i don't know if she'll let me practice the whole time or just half like usual."
Lucy: "Don't say that! you said it yourself, you feel good and feel that you can have a good practice. You know that the coach takes your word when it comes to practice."
Agreeing with her "true she does...but when it comes to actual games thats a different thing all together."
Lucy: Speaking of games when is our next scrims match again?
"Tomorrow at 5pm as it should be here this time so we get to have enough time for us to be prepared."
Lucy: After finishing our stretches i'd asked "Yang will you be playing the full scrim match tomorrow."
I smile and give her the thumbs up as i say "so make sure your in your best condition for the scrim."
Lucy: I jump hug Yang "this is the best start to the school week i could ever ask for."
Hugging her back and smiling, i nod my head saying "yea it's rare we get to be on the court together for an full game. But really i'm only playing the full scrim because it's half what the time is for an official game begin an scrim that are 8 minutes each quarter as an official game is 16 minutes."
