Yuljae raised his head as he realized that Jihak had stopped eating.
Jihak had a cold look on his face.
“You seem to be thinking.”
“I’m sorry. I was thinking about Yoon Jongshin’s son.”
“Huh, the scholar who came to pick up Eunha that day.”
“Yes.”
Although he was an illegitimate son of the Minister of Defense, Yoon Shihoon was a man with a good reputation. Scholars interested in learning often visited him. Moreover, Yoon Shihoon taught little Eunha as if she were his sister.
The latter caught Jihak’s attention. Eunha now belonged to him.
“A visitor has come.”
Yuljae came to his senses at the butler’s words outside the door. Jihak smirked.
“It’s Lee Cham.”
Lee Cham, a military official from Gyeongsang Province, was the person who made the most fuss in the East Tower last night. He was so nervous about Jihak’s sudden appearance that he constantly made mistakes in his speech, and in the end, he kept his mouth shut after Yuljae unsheathed his sword.
Jihak had expected Lee Cham to come here as soon as he opened his eyes.
“What should I do, my lord?”
Jihak let out a puff of smoke.
“I have a headache today, play with him.”
“Understood.”
Yuljae opened the paper door on Jihak’s behalf. The butler followed him.
When he reached the garden, he found Lee Cham wandering around like a dog that needed to poop. His face instantly went cold when he recognized Yuljae.
“You remember me, right?”
Cham asked.
“Of course.”
“Thank God you remember me. But I’d like to pay my respects to the Prince, is he inside?”
“I’m sorry. The lord has a coughing fit.”
Yuljae told a blatant lie.
Maybe he felt slighted, because Cham’s face turned red.
“If so, should I come back another time…? Or should I wait?”
Lee Cham is waiting for Yuljae’s decision.
Jihak was curious about the purpose behind the assembly at the East Tower. It was rumored that they were gathered only to overthrow the Crown Prince.
Since there was a high possibility that it was some faction, Jihak needed an infiltrator who would forcefully strike at his confidence.
“Talk to me, I’m frustrated.”
“I don’t think today is the right day, so come back next time.”
It was a dog at his feet.
“I guess I’ll come back tomorrow. Please report to the Prince as well. Shouldn’t we postpone the clarification of the misunderstanding?”
The first person to visit Jihak was his dog.
“Of course.”
The person who would become that dog would be Lee Cham.
Yuljae dismissed Cham with a rare smile. A moment later, the butler came out the door, approached to deliver a letter to Yuljae.
“A letter.”
“Really?”
Kim, with a slightly flushed expression, nodded.
Although he had a disheveled appearance, he was a great eunuch who rose to the rank of third servant in the royal palace. He had personally educated the Prince as if he were his son. Kim gave up everything to look for Jihak.
“Yes.”
Yuljae put the letter away. There were times when he couldn’t decipher his master’s thoughts. Actually, it wasn’t that he couldn’t. He just didn’t want to know why he ordered him to prepare many sweets, which he usually didn’t even touch.
“By the way… Yuljae, the reader looks familiar to me. I don’t know why.”
Kim said he had a problem with his memory. Then he left.
There was a rare cloud in the clear sky.

“Sister! Sister!”
When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Gari.
Eunha barely got up, she let out a groan.
“What time is it?”
“It’s dinner time already, how did you sleep for so long?”
“Already?”
“Yes. Quickly get ready.”
She forced herself to wake up. She slept without a blanket on the hard floor, she felt pain as if she had been beaten, there were even marks left on her face as she pressed it against the floor.
After she rubbed her face, Eunha decided to quickly quench her hunger with a beef stew with rice. The hot stew burned her tongue.
Gari asked,
“But what did you dream? You cried in your sleep.”
“I?”
“Is there anyone else here besides you?”
