Chaos's Daughter: Sweet But Psycho

Chapter 7: Chapter 3: First Day of School, She Kills The… Part 1

Kuoh Academy was already buzzing by the time Hespera arrived.

Taking out a raspberry-flavored lolipop (sugar free) and popped it in her mouth. She smirked. "Let's cause some chaos~"

Students were filling the courtyard, chatting in small groups, some exchanging gossip, others yawning from early morning exhaustion when the air shifted.

A strange, ominous presence settled over the area.

A ripple of unease went through the crowd.

Every student instinctively stiffened, as if their fight-or-flight instincts were kicking in without knowing why.

Some students turned toward the entrance gate—and froze.

There, standing just beyond the gates, was one of the most beautiful girls they had ever seen.

She wasn't doing anything particularly threatening.

But something about her radiated danger, unpredictability, and sheer chaos.

She stood lazily, her arms crossed over her bountiful chest, her tie undone in a way that should have been messy, but instead looked effortlessly cool.

Her silver hair flowed down her back in cascading waves, tinged with streaks of violet, indigo, and green-blue, catching the sunlight in a way that made it almost surreal.

Her heterochromatic eyes—one an intense emerald, the other a sharp amethyst—glowed faintly, slitted pupils narrowed in a mix of boredom and mild amusement.

And then she yawned.

It was a lazy, exaggerated yawn, but with her sharp canines visible, it came off as more beast-like than anything.

A group of girls blushed.

A group of guys looked intimidated.

One idiot whispered, "Is that a delinquent transfer student?!"

Suddenly the wind picked up and her aura leaked.

Just a little. 'Don't want the puny humans to die, now do we?'

'Just a harmless flicker of pure, chaotic energy should do,' Hespera thought. Her eyes twinkled with amusement. Messing with humans was really entertaining.

The small amount was enough.

The entire courtyard fell silent.

The air crackled.

Several students felt chills down their spines.

One particularly weak-willed kid fainted on the spot. Weakling.

Hespera tilted her head slightly, blinking at the silence.

Then she smiled.

It was sweet.

It was gentle.

It was unnerving.

"Good morning, everyone~" she chirped in an adorably cheerful voice.

Nobody responded. Rude.

They were too busy trying not to panic.

Then—

"OI! WHO THE HELL IS THAT?!"

A loud, obnoxious voice broke the silence.

The crowd parted, and a very familiar, perverted face appeared.

Issei Hyoudou, the resident pervert king of Kuoh, marched forward, flanked by his two fellow degenerates, Motohama and Matsuda.

The second Issei laid eyes on Hespera, he froze mid-step.

His brain short-circuited.

"Whoa… badass girls are hot too! Wait, does that yawn mean she's a biter?!"

The moment the words left his mouth, the temperature dropped.

Hespera's sweet expression didn't change.

But her aura did.

It spiked, crackling with thinly veiled menace, just enough to make the air heavy.

Her head tilted slightly to the side, her smile still in place, but her eyes gleamed with something… dark.

Taking the lolipop out of her mouth with a loud pop, she twirled it in the air.

"Oh? You're quite daring, aren't you?" she commented, her tone playful yet unnervingly sharp.

Issei gulped. "I—uh—"

In a single, slow step, Hespera closed the distance between them, standing just inches away from him.

From this close, Issei could fully take in her unnaturally stunning features—the mix of inhuman beauty and something that screamed 'danger.'

She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a soft, teasing whisper.

"Hey~, virgin boy that smells of desperation~"

Issei stiffened.

"If you say such vulgar things about me again~"

Her smile widened, canines gleaming.

"I'll rip your heart out and make it my new stress ball~"

Issei's soul left his body.

Behind him, Motohama and Matsuda backed away in sheer terror.

The entire courtyard was dead silent.

Ding!

[Quest Complete: 'Make an Entrance']

[Reward: ???]

Hespera tilted her head in curiosity as a small notification popped up in front of her.

She blinked, mentally opening the reward.

And suddenly, a black, gold-etched invitation appeared in her hand.

She read it.

Then she grinned.

"Oya? A personal invitation to the Occult Research Club? How fun~"

She turned her glowing gaze towards a certain crimson-haired devil standing at the entrance of the school with another girl with long black hair in a high ponytail.

Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima watched her with calculating eyes, lips curved in intrigue.

Hespera smirked. 'Quite the nosey little kittens, aren't they. How much yarn should I throw, before leading them to me?'

Decisions, decisions.

This school might not be so boring after all.

The crowd of students parted like the sea as she strolled passed, humming to her self as she enjoyed her lolipop.

She ignored the two voluptuous girls at the door and just kept going. 'I think I'll give them a mile worth of yarn. Let's see if they'll take a yard worth. It would be disappointing if they demanded more than what I offered. Afterall—'

She stopped right infront of her homeroom classroom and turned to smirk at the two devils still watching. Hespera slowly took out her lolipop and waved at them with it before putting it back in her mouth just to crush it with her teeth.

Giggling at the startled looks on their pretty faces, she entered the classroom.

'I dislike greedy people.'

~☆~

Back with the two devil girls in the hallway, they were too shocked and confused to react properly to the new student's... whatever that was.

Akeno, usually one to find amusement in most situations, was still processing what she just felt.

"...Rias?" she finally said, her voice lacking its usual playful lilt. "What… was that?"

Akeno couldn't describe the aura the new girl was emitting, but it was strong. Too strong.

Rias shook herself out of her stupor. She had a pretty good idea what just happened. Her big brother had told her stories of the power of the Ouroboros dragon and the Dimensional Gap. That girl felt just like what Sirzechs described the Dimensional Gap was like.

Rias' lips parted slightly.

"...I think we just met something far more dangerous than we were prepared for," she admitted quietly.

Akeno turned to her, blinking. "Do you think she's a threat?"

Rias didn't respond right away.

Instead, she recalled the way Hespera had smiled.

That sweet, unnerving expression—like a predator indulging in a game.

The way she had crushed that lollipop between her teeth, looking straight at them, as if issuing an unspoken warning.

And yet, she had walked away. Ignored them. Played the role of an amused observer, letting them watch but never engage.

As if daring them to come to her instead.

Rias frowned.

"She isn't looking for a fight," she finally said.

Akeno raised an eyebrow. "That doesn't mean she won't start one."

Rias hummed. True.

Silence ensured before Akeno broke it. She bit her bottom lip sensually, as she admitted rather sheepishly, "Is it just me, or was she kind of...hot."

Rias blushed while stuttering, but not denying it.

~☆~

Hespera sauntered into the classroom, hands lazily tucked into her skirt pockets, her gait exuding an effortless confidence—as if she owned not just the room but the entire school itself.

Her silver hair, streaked with violet, indigo, and green-blue, cascaded over her shoulders in silky waves, shifting subtly with each graceful step she took. Sunlight streamed through the windows, catching the colors just right, making them almost ethereal—as though reality itself couldn't decide what shade they should truly be.

Her heterochromatic eyes—one a sharp emerald, the other a piercing amethyst—glowed faintly, half-lidded in a lazy, predatory amusement as she surveyed the classroom like a queen examining her subjects.

The air in the room shifted the moment she stepped in.

Conversations hushed.

All eyes were on her.

Some filled with awe.

Some with curiosity.

And some, of course, with utter stupidity.

Hespera barely gave them a glance as she made her way to the front where the teacher was waiting.

"Class, we have a new student today," the teacher announced, glancing at Hespera warily. Even he could feel something was off about her, but he carried on, unaware that he stood before a walking catastrophe in the making.

"Please introduce yourself."

Hespera smiled sweetly, standing with one hand on her hip, the other twirling a lollipop between her fingers.

"Hespera Eveningstar," she drawled, her voice smooth as silk, yet laced with something sharper beneath the surface. She tilted her head, her piercing gaze sweeping across the room.

"Let's get along, eh~?"

Her tone was deceptively warm, but to the more perceptive students, there was an underlying promise in her words.

An unspoken challenge.

Nobody spoke.

A few girls whispered among themselves, their faces tinged pink.

A few guys sat frozen, unable to process the sheer lethal allure standing before them.

She sauntered over to an empty seat near the back. Sliding into the chair, she propped her chin on one hand, her heterochromatic eyes lazily scanning the room.

The reaction was as expected.

People were whispering, stealing glances at her, some bold enough to stare outright.

Some were mesmerized.

Some were uneasy.

And some, like a certain group of boys near the front, were outright drooling at her body. Their lewd stares pissed her off. It was disgusting!

'Even after I warned them. Hehe~ I see, you have a death wish. As I am benevolent, I shall grant you what you most desired.'

Her gaze darkened, her pupils narrowing dangerously, but her expression remained perfectly sweet.

With deliberate ease, she pulled out a sugar-free raspberry lollipop, unwrapped it with slow precision, and popped it into her mouth.

She sucked on it thoughtfully, her tongue rolling over the candy, the soft click of it against her teeth the only sound in the eerily silent room, outside of the teacher's ramblings.

The boys in question shuddered, their instincts screaming at them to look away.

They didn't. Ah. How adorable.

She tilted her head, propping her chin on her palm, her piercing gaze never leaving them.

Then—just for fun—she let her aura flicker.

Just a bit.

Enough to make the air around them (and only them) feel heavier, enough for the hairs on their arms to rise, for their blood to run cold, for their lungs to suddenly struggle for air.

The boys' faces drained of color, their previous lustful expressions shattering into pure, unfiltered terror.

They knew.

They knew they had just made a terrible mistake.

Hespera giggled softly, her expression one of mock innocence, her lashes fluttering prettily.

'Oh? What's wrong? I thought you wanted to ogle me.'

She used her [Nihility] ability on the room to make it seem everything is normal. 'Nothing to see here. Carry on.'

Issei Hyoudou had no idea what was going on. One moment he and his two buddies were checking out the new girl, and the next they were reeling like they were shoved inside a haunted house with a vampire.

Then, just as suddenly—it vanished.

Hespera leaned back, sucked once more on her lollipop, and… smirked.

As if nothing had happened.

As if she hadn't just scarred three boys for life, however short it may be.

Then, without another care, she shifted her gaze away—completely dismissing them.

'I'll leave them be for now. Tonight, though… hehe~ I can't wait for the party!'

Hespera barely paid attention to the lesson. What was the point? She already knew everything being taught—not because she had studied like a diligent student, but because Chaos and Death had shoved knowledge into her brain like a last-minute cram session.

She sighed softly, rolling the lollipop between her teeth, her gaze drifting lazily around the classroom.

The students were finally starting to relax, returning to their usual routine.

Some scribbled down notes.

Some yawned, barely staying awake.

A few still glanced at her, but quickly looked away when she caught them staring.

How cute.

She was bored.

Hespera tapped her fingertips against the desk, resisting the urge to cause a little mischief.

But no.

Not yet.

She would wait.

Let them believe she was just another pretty face with a sharp tongue. Let them adjust.

And then?

Then she'd have her fun.

The bell rang, signaling the next class, and the entire class exhaled in relief.

Desks scraped against the floor as students stood up, stretching, chatting, forming groups as they prepared to head to the next class.

Hespera, meanwhile, took her time.

She unwrapped another raspberry lollipop, popping it into her mouth as she lazily rose from her seat.

She could already feel the eyes on her.

Some oh-so-bold, seemed to debate whether they should approach her.

Hespera almost laughed.

They were acting like she was some dangerous animal, unsure whether she would bite or play nice.

(Well, technically, they weren't wrong.)

'I wonder, who will have the balls to come forth.'

Meanwhile…

From the Student Council Room, Sona Sitri sat at her desk, a steaming cup of tea resting beside her, her sharp violet eyes scanning the live feed from the school's security cameras.

Beside her, Tsubaki stood silent but observant, watching as the new girl strolled through the halls like she had all the time in the world.

Sona adjusted her glasses.

"She's… interesting."

Tsubaki hummed. "That's one way to put it."

Sona exhaled, setting down her cup.

"This level of presence… Even high-ranking devils don't leave an impression like this. She hasn't done anything remotely supernatural, yet she's already made half the school uneasy."

"She's powerful," Tsubaki agreed.

Sona narrowed her eyes.

"She feels… wrong. Not evil. Not like a stray devil or fallen angel. Just… something else entirely."

Tsubaki glanced at her. "Should we approach her first?"

Sona tapped her fingers against the desk.

"No," she finally decided. "Rias already extended an invitation. Let's see if she takes the bait."

Tsubaki nodded.

And so, they decided to wait.
