Chapter 1038: 335: Education from the King, Backstab from the Chosen One (Vote for monthly tickets!)
A big bus with the Warriors team logo drove out of the MCI Center in Washington.
Due to Roger's arrival, the Warriors changed the team logo, main color, and jersey style ahead of this season, carrying out a series of updates to the team's brand image.
Before this season, the Warriors' team logo was a seemingly low-class blue figure holding a lightning bolt, posed as if to stab the opponent's eczema, with the team's main colors being an incongruously deep blue and orange. Roger always thought this was the ugliest exterior packaging image in Warriors history, with that baffling little figure exuding a strong sense of cheap knockoff.
Even Reebok felt this team packaging couldn't match the League's best players.
So, on Roger and Reebok's suggestion, the Russian Mikhail Prokhorov applied to the League over the summer for a major overhaul of the team's image packaging.
The team's main color was changed to a cobalt blue, white, and gold closer to the 10s, with the team logo featuring the Bay Bridge of San Francisco-Oakland, symbolizing the Warriors' close connection between the two cities — which was far better than that puzzling and ugly little blue man.
After the makeover, this season's Warriors looked transformed, with that knockoff vibe disappearing. The bus decorated with the new main colors and team logo looked much more upscale and grand.
Wizards fans waiting by the street cheered, took photos, and shouted at the Warriors players as this beautiful bus exited the MCI Center.
Even though the Washington Wizards were massacred by 26 points tonight, Washington fans' love for the Warriors players was unstoppable.
In stark contrast to the fans, inside the bus, the Warriors players were totally uninterested. Marcus Camby and Dikembe Mutombo were chatting about defensive positioning, Amar'e Stoudemire was listening to music, Allan Houston was talking to family members, and Stephen Jackson and Jason Richardson were discussing their street experiences.
The Warriors players indeed had nothing to feel happy about; they didn't feel particularly proud of this victory because the Wizards weren't considered a strong team this season.
The only person on the bus who was excited was Roger.
He occasionally waved to the fans outside the window, sometimes made peace signs, responding to the enthusiasm of Washington D.C. players in various ways.
As the bus drove onto the empty overpass, Roger finally had time to look at all sorts of messages sent by his agent, Eric Fleisher, on his phone.
"A Japanese actress will soon visit San Francisco. She inquired privately if you have time to have dinner with her."
"The Warrior's Spirit personal brand shoe series has again reached a new sales high, with pleasing sales even in Europe, a football-dominated area."
"Reebok renewed its ten-year sponsorship contract with the NBA, and for the next ten years, NBA jerseys, protective gear, peripheral clothing, and other products will continue to be provided by Reebok. This will positively impact Reebok's sales, and don't forget, you enjoy a portion of the sales too."
"The China National Team once again discussed the possibility of your appearance at the 2008 Olympic arena with me, and they're willing to make concessions on some conditions for this."
What does world-class superstar mean?
Roger's influence has long surpassed the small NBA.
He quickly replied to these messages one by one.
"You don't need to say her name, but send me her photo and measurements. This is the basic respect for this lady, which directly determines if I have time."
"Great, I can visit Europe next off-season to interact with some prestigious football clubs."
"Suggest Reebok expand business in other sports."
"Tell them I've always maintained interest."
The reaction from the away fans and these messages have already fully illustrated what it's like to be admired by thousands.
At this moment, Roger was undoubtedly the top figure in the basketball world and the entire sports world.
His dazzling achievements and outstanding commercial promotions have earned Roger worldwide fame.
"Sports Illustrated" made a prediction: If Roger participates in FIBA matches, he will replicate the glory of the Dream Team, and all opponents will seek his autograph like fans.
This feeling of being elevated is indeed exhilarating; however, none of these are the main reasons for Roger's excitement.
Putting his phone down, Roger picked up a stack of organized newspapers he wanted to enjoy as soon as he got on the bus. Now, he could finally set aside work and slowly savor these articles.
The articles include but are not limited to:
"Michael Jordan and LeBron James Break Up on the Court".
"Michael declares that LeBron lacks the drive to advance".
"He's not a great player. - Michael Jordan".
"Source: No. 45 yelled at No. 23 in the locker room".
"LeBron: No matter what, I respect Michael, really".
"Is this the end of a relationship?"
Looking at these headlines is almost as thrilling as "The Days I Shared a House with a Divorced Woman". Just thinking about it makes one excited.
These news headlines reminded Roger of the wonderful experience last night, and he couldn't help but smile.
-----------------
Michael Jordan knelt on the ground; this was his most undignified moment as a professional player.
His expression became terrifying, like a wolf that's been hungry for three days and nights.
But Jordan did not get angry at Roger and instead turned his head to look at No. 23, who carried so many of his fantasies: "LeBron! Are you too scared to move!?"
