Celestials Game: Inheriting the Flawed Legacy of the Soul Warlock

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Soul Warlock Class

"We should have used a cab," Selene said, sweat running down her face.

The three of them stood in front of a rundown big building.

Ezra exclaimed, "A cab? Transport is expensive, and my house isn't far from the hospital; it's just a stone's throw away. Aren't we there?"

"A stone's throw?!" Selene and Seraphina exclaimed, staring at him in absolute shock.

"When did a two-hour walk become a stone's throw distance?" Seraphina asked.

"You guys don't throw your stones well," Ezra retorted as he walked toward the house. "Besides, you're Second Order Mortal rank Elites."

Seraphina followed behind in silence while Selene mumbled, "No stone can be thrown such a distance by a normal human, and transport isn't as expensive as he claims," before quickly catching up to them.

They climbed the stairs to the third floor.

"Are you sure this house won't collapse?" Seraphina asked, looking around at the dilapidated construction, with rotten wood in a few places.

Selene was observing intently, walking with very slow steps but refrained from speaking.

"Don't worry. All these things you are seeing are just the metamorphosis of lava to butterfly. It's merely shedding its external covering to be born anew," Ezra offhandedly blurted rubbish with a straight face while walking ahead.

Seraphina and Selene exchanged skeptical glances.

Ezra added, noticing their disbelief, "I can swear on Selene's life that it won't collapse."

Selene's eyes widened in horror. "D-d-don't swear on my life."

Ezra laughed at her fear as he stopped before a wooden door and opened it with the key attached to his wrist.

He gestured at the room after opening the door. "Welcome to my humble abode."

Both girls entered and looked around. The room consisted of just a bed on one side and a bag in the corner.

"Neat," Seraphina complimented.

"Make yourself comfortable because I want to take my bath, go register at the council association, and practice with my sword to reignite my memory of the training I received at the academy."

"You really got gear from that wolf?" Selene asked in shock.

Ezra's eyes trembled. "Nope. Miss Aliya gave it to me."

"How?! What did you do for her?!" Selene asked, clearly astonished.

He ignored her and took clothes from the bag in the corner before entering the bathroom.

During his shower, Ezra got the time to check his panel:

[Soul Covenant]

[Rank: (Sealed) ]

[Description: (Sealed)]

"[Bane Of Existence] requires a living thing. So let's start with [Soul Reflection]," he mumbled.

With a thought, he activated [Soul Reflection], and a blue, translucent, ethereal version of himself appeared in front of him.

Surprisingly, he saw himself with drenched, short black hair, electric blue eyes, and a body covered in soap lather.

'Why am I seeing myself when I'm staring at this blue person?' Ezra tilted his head in confusion but then his eyes brightened as he realized something. 'No, it's the sight of this blue person. I'm seeing myself through the eyes of the blue person. This two-vision will be a problem during intense situations. I have two pairs of eyes with one brain?'

Not wasting time, Ezra tried to control the spirit body. Instinctively, he knew how to manage it, and the control didn't affect his physical body.

The spirit body passed through the wall.

When it emerged outside, he saw the girls whispering to each other.

"You think it's a good idea sleeping with a stranger in such a small house?" Selene whispered to Seraphina.

"My axe is here." Seraphina summoned her axe and waved it around. "He wouldn't dare try anything unless he wants to 'un-man' himself and earn the title of eunuch. We might need him, or we might not, but an additional person always helps for survival. You forgot how he killed that wolf? Even though I weakened and injured it, it wasn't supposed to die easily, but it did."

'It must be thanks to [Bane Of Existence],' Ezra thought, listening to her conversation.

Seraphina suddenly snapped her head around.

Ezra nearly jumped, thinking he had been discovered, but calmed down when he realized she was looking around vigilantly and didn't see the spirit body.

'She can't see me but can sense my gaze. What an acute instinct.'

He dismissed the spirit body, and at that moment, his stomach grumbled, reminding him of his needs.

He groaned and quickly took a bath, emerging dressed in casual attire. He used his fingers to arrange his hair as a makeshift comb.

"I will be going to do my things. What will you guys be doing?" Ezra asked, feeling uncomfortable leaving his room to strangers.

"We will go do our things and return in the evening," Seraphina replied, and Selene quickly nodded, eager to leave.

"Also, when you see the map, don't forget to note all dangerous areas and paths with their prominent landmarks. Don't miss a thing because it might save our lives," Seraphina said sternly before leaving with Selene.

Ezra was left stunned.
