Chapter 3: The shadow in the voids
The silence of space is deceptive. Aboard the Stellarion, the voltage crackles like static electricity. Liora Cassian stands on a dimly lit bridge.
Look for the shimmering crystal that is trapped in the field of conflict. The Celestial Key pulses softly, its energy casting a mysterious shadow on the wall. She knows that unlocking her secrets is her mission.
But the vision she had in Lunaris was startling: a shadowy figure driving Chave towards destruction. Vera Lin interrupted his thoughts,
"We have a tail, someone is following us.
Liora's head turned towards the viewing window. Beyond the bright, vast stars A dark and shiny ship approached them. Its angular design makes it a stealth type ship.
Faster and more flexible than transportation "What are they?" and left. Vera checks the exam "No identification. But they are armed.
They are not here to negotiate." "Take avoidance measures. Pull us out," Liora ordered. She was fierce for Marcus. "How did they find us?" Marcus' expression was solemn, "Chave released a unique power.
If they have the correct sensors They can track us through two systems." "Then we will fight," Liora said in a happy tone. "Vera, create a defense system. We won't let them get stuck with it."
To cast shadows, turn on the lights. Rays of energy traveling through or vasio. Vera moves the boat past the embankment. But at the speed of the lower ship from the vantage point, oh Dr. A.S. Rhys was working madly at the console.
By redirecting energy for the ship's shields. "They're trying to incapacitate us," Rhys muttered, "if they get on board. We will get lost." To Liora shotu's mind, "Do we have any offensive abilities?" "At the very least," Vera admitted. "This is not a warship." "So we used what we had." Liora's quick rations took them to a nearby asteroid field.
Using large rocks as cover. The chase ship followed suit, winding its way through the wreckage with startling precision. But Liora has a plan. She orders Rhys to overcharge the ship's energy reserves.
Causes temporary electromagnetic waves When the shadow of the ship approaches A capillary pulse was released. The enemy ship hesitated and its systems were briefly disrupted.
Take advantage for a moment.
Watch the riders outside of the asteroid field and nearby Dobra Gate. "Continue finding a safer route or port," Liora ordered.
"We are regrouping precisely."
The crew docked at Haven Station. It is a coastal hub for business and commuters on the edge of the Aldrin area. This bustling station is a mix of metallic walkways and neon-lit markets.
And the station's population includes both humans and aliens. Liora's goal is clear: find out who is following them and why.
As she walked through the crowded market She noticed a masked figure following her. She led them down a quiet path and then turned around. Pull out the hidden energy bar. "Why did you follow me?" she insisted.
The figure calmly raised its hands and lowered its hood. It was a girl with sharp features and piercing green eyes, " I'm here to help."
"Help?" Liora's waist did not sway.
"Who are you?" "My name is Kael. I work with your father. I know about the key.
" Leora's eyes narrowed. "If you know about the key. You will know how dangerous it is. Why should I trust you?" Kael smiled,
"Because I have the information you need.People following you They are part of an organization called Eclipse. They hunted for the key for years until they were able to stop it."
Back on the ship, Kael explains the origin of the eclipse. They are a secret group made up of rogue scientists, mercenaries, and visionaries who believe the key can unlock godlike powers.
Their leader is a mysterious figure known only as Orion, who has a reputation for brutality. "They want to use the key to rewrite reality,"
Kael said. "Your father tried to stop them. But they killed him before he could finish."
The revelation hit Leora like a punch to the gut. Her father's death seemed suspicious.
But this confirmed her worst fears. "If they need the key this badly, Why haven't they taken it yet?"
Kael hesitated, "Because the key chooses the owner. They cannot use it unless it accepts them—and now it has chosen you."
As the crew strategized their next move,
Vera received a signal from an unknown source. It was twisted but clear:
"Change the lock and you will be free. Resist and you will meet the same fate as your father." Liora refused to respond.
But the transmission stunned the crew. Doubts began to arise within them.
Who has betrayed their position? Kael is truly an ally. Or is she leading them into a trap?
Tensions flare when Marcus confronts Kael and accuses him of working with Eclipse, Kael denies it. But the seeds of doubt had already been sown.
Growing distrust ended in a dispute that split the party. Marcus supports hiding the key. Meanwhile, Vera insists that they need to fight.
Knowing that unity is her only chance at survival, Liora struggles to maintain control.
At this point The shadow ship appeared again. This time with reinforcements. The eclipse is coming to an end ,
As the crew prepared for another confrontation, the Key began to glow brighter, its energy pulsing erratically. Liora felt its pull stronger than ever, its whispers filling her mind with fragmented visions of the future.
One vision stood out: a dark figure standing over her lifeless crew, the Key in their grasp.
The chapter ends with the enemy ships surrounding Haven Station, their weapons trained on Liora's ship. Over the comms, a voice rang out—cold and commanding.
"This is Orion. Surrender the Key, or face destruction."
Liora's gaze hardened. "Prepare for battle," she said, her voice unwavering. "If they want the Key, they'll have to go through me."
