Chapter 844: A narrative of his life II
Everyone in the tent remained silent. Old Fedric, Garrick, and Ma shut their eyes. If only they and their companions had been strong enough when the blessed race was slaughtered, they could have stopped their brutal destruction, and what they had gone through would have never happened.
However, when the blessed race was slaughtered, like many others, they weren't even powerful enough to uncover what had happened and the reasons behind it. They were merely weak youngsters searching for ways to become stronger, unaware of the horrific things occurring beyond the boundaries of their small planets.
James and the seven supreme elders clenched their fists too. The catastrophic error of the generation that annihilated the entire blessed race, along with Lilith and Nathaniel who betrayed Azazeal for power, was what was destroying them now!
Kyle closed his palm, causing the orbs floating above it to scatter and enter the minds of everyone surrounding him. That way, he conveyed what they needed to do. He did not want Azazeal to discover his plan, so he chose not to articulate it.
"So, how could you expect Azazeal to just forget all that suffering because he made some new friends? No, he didn't forget. He buried the grudge he had deep down since he found a reason to live normally when he met Lilith and Nathaniel. He wanted a new life free of all the pain... yet even that hope shattered when they both betrayed him in the very place where the blessed race was mercilessly killed. And the biggest irony is that Nathaniel tried to kill him for the same reason his people died—the Celestial power in his body—making Azazeal realize just how wrong he was to trust once again the people who had killed his loved ones."
He softly patted Nine's shoulder, who had absorbed the knowledge from the white orb that entered his forehead, smiling.
"If you were in Azazeal's position... would you be able to forgive and bury the past?"
Nine exhaled deeply, his eyes sharp.
"I am just a normal person. However, if those I care about are harmed, I would do everything in my power to bring an end to those who hurt my loved ones. Even if I buried the pain, I would seize any chance for revenge if it presented itself."
Kyle let out a thoughtful hum.
"That's precisely what Azazeal is trying to accomplish. He wants to eliminate all his pain and put an end to his suffering so he can finally find peace. Honestly, while it may not be as extreme as what Azazeal is doing, it's true that not just you, but even I and everyone here would desire revenge if someone harmed our loved ones."
Everyone agreed with his words. Like Nine, they had absorbed the knowledge from the orbs that entered their foreheads.
However, what Kyle told them through the orbs to do was very risky and challenging. James and many others were even unsure about whether they could pull it off. Yet, no one among them was willing to back down because this might be their last chance to finally put an end to the bloody battles that had been going on for countless years.
Jian cracked his knuckles with a grim expression and breathed deeply. They were all about to do something monumental, and he could feel the adrenaline rush.
"Let's end this once and for all. Azazeal wants to go to the Celestial Realm, right? Then let's politely send him there!"
Sinon slapped the back of his head.
"What are you getting so hyped for, huh? You don't even have a major role to play. Just do us a favor and don't die midway because of your recklessness."
Everyone remained silent, not wanting to hurt the red-haired man. However, Bia, Nox, and Haylee did not share the sentiment and burst into laughter. Bia even went so far as to repeat some of Sinon's words.
-"What are you getting so hyped for, huh?"
Jian's face flushed with anger. He had worked hard for the past two months! He was the strongest... ahem, not exactly the strongest, but at least one of the strongest! Why would he die??? No way! He glared at Sinon, who had started all this, forgetting Bia, who fanned the flames.
"Do you even realize just how powerful I've become? Look, I'm so much taller than you! I look more muscular and powerful! And let me show you something. Hehe."
His eyes turned completely white, and everyone was surprised when time stopped for them. Except for Kyle, Alec, Ma, Fedric, and Garrick, everyone else was frozen. Jian laughed and deliberately didn't freeze their senses so they could witness his powers.
The genuine article resides on M|V|L&EMPYR.
Kyle turned to him when he noticed Jian was attempting to travel through time. He raised an eyebrow at his progress. When he had left him in the Sea of Consciousness, Jian was close to comprehending a deeper understanding of the natural law of space. However, now it seemed that, even though his understanding was still far inferior to Kyle's, he had gained a deeper insight into the natural law of time as well.
"That's good enough, Jian. Don't play with time. The first rule we shouldn't break after learning more about the natural law of time is traversing the fabric of time... With your understanding, you can't travel far back into time, nor can you interfere significantly; you can only go back a one or two years. If you can, then Azazeal can travel back as well. Don't cross a layer of time, or he will do the same just to eliminate us. He can't go back thousands of years to eliminate Nathaniel and Lilith with his own hands, but he can certainly go back to kill us."
Jian nodded at his words. However, Kyle's words that they weren't allowed to traverse the fabric of time resonated with him. He was aware of that simple rule, but maybe this time his good luck was working because he suddenly gained insight.
"Wait... I will do what you say! But let me just try traversing through a layer of time once, okay? Please, don't stop me! I am close to a major breakthrough!"
