Chapter 99: Capturing a New Type of Female Trainer: Sabrina
"Ly-no!"
Following Haru's command, Big Neko (Necrozma) immediately spread her "arms" and unleashed her strongest single-target Ground-type move against that overconfident Raichu.
With a thunderous roar, cracks spread outward from Raichu's position like a spiderweb.
The trembling earth itself looked ready to swallow Raichu whole!
To Raichu, this wasn't Earth Power—it was basically Fissure cast with No Guard. A guaranteed one-hit KO if it landed.
Even though Earth Power isn't one of Necrozma's STAB moves, its double-type effectiveness combined with Necrozma's monstrous attack power made it terrifying all the same.
At least against Raichu, crushing it was no problem at all.
Honestly, when the power gap is wide enough, even if Haru insisted on being a "reverse matchup master" and hit an Electric-type like Raichu with a Flying-type move that should be weak against it, it'd probably still one-shot.
But Haru was just too reliable. He always preferred ending fights in one blow, so he typically went with super-effective high-power moves.
And at the moment of impact, as Raichu faced down that terrifying blow, its expression oddly resembled a certain someone facing the iron club of a certain reincarnated jobless protagonist…
Wait a minute. This gap is way bigger than I expected, huh?
Raichu scratched its round little head with its tiny paws, totally dazed.
Fortunately, its Trainer quickly gave it instructions:
"Jump! Climb up the pillar—whatever you do, don't take that hit head-on!"
"It's okay! As long as we dodge this move, we can still win!"
"The opponent is just a Pokémon like any other—we can do this!"
"How amusing. But pointless. You can't escape."
"Sure, I can't two-punch Pikachu, but Raichu? That's easy."
"Go, Necrozma—Knock Off, now!"
But Haru wasn't trying to knock off Raichu's held item.
He was trying to knock Raichu itself into the floor.
And although Raichu was small, it was nowhere near fast enough to keep up with Necrozma.
So even though this was just a Knock Off, it looked like it had the effect of Extreme Speed—almost like she activated Speed Boost or something, getting faster and faster.
Godly power. Pretty magical, huh?
Necrozma struck Raichu square-on and smashed it directly into the Earth Power zone, knocking it out instantly.
In the real world, god-tier power was simply too overwhelming.
"Damn it! It was a final evolution… so why—?!"
Even now, Proton couldn't understand.
"Because you're just a final evolution," Haru replied with a casual smile, arms spread, "and I've already moved beyond evolution."
"Well then—are you going to keep fighting? I don't really care either way. Feels like we're heading into a full 6-on-1 sweep by Necrozma."
"If you want to give up, just hand over your Poké Balls, and I'll turn you over to Officer Jenny."
"Team Rocket arrests like this are rare wins. The Jennies of Paldea will be thrilled."
Just like in the anime, the police in this world are pretty much all members of the Officer Jenny family.
Thankfully, even in the Pokémon world, that family is still known for being righteously aligned.
Otherwise… just imagine it. The world's entire justice system controlled by a single family? Kinda terrifying.
Well, they are still answerable to the Pokémon League at least.
"Tch. What are you even imagining over there?"
"You beat one Raichu and you're already getting cocky?"
"I haven't even fallen yet! Go, Electrode, Jolteon, Electivire, Magnezone, Ampharos—take him down!"
As he shouted, Proton threw out five more Poké Balls, completely surrounding Necrozma.
"Oh? Abandoning the dignity of a Trainer for a dogpile already?"
"Fine then—Earthquake. Let's send them all packing."
"Arrogant brat! You really think one move can take down all of my Pokémon? Don't be ridiculous."
"Attack! Fry that punk until he's nothing but a smoldering husk!"
The Pokémon roared to life, lightning sparking across their bodies, prepared to unleash their fury.
Sure, Necrozma might be strong, but there's no way she could stand up to this many final evolutions at once, right?
Every one of Proton's Pokémon was fully evolved and hit like a truck. The force of this combined strike would surely shine a path of victory!
…They got wiped.
Under the might of Earthquake, all were equal. Those Electric-types had no hope against a Ground move, and even if they had ten thousand lives each, none could withstand Necrozma's devastating blow.
Some of their attacks did manage to connect, but they didn't even scratch that pitch-black god.
Even if Necrozma didn't look all that imposing at first glance, her sheer dominance had carved the words "invincible" deep into Proton's brain.
Only now did Proton realize what kind of monster he was actually facing.
This unknown Pokémon was clearly a Tier One Legendary!
The hell, Giovanni?! Where was the "reliable intel" in that report?
Weren't they supposed to be dealing with just one Mythical Pokémon and another maybe Tier Two Legendary at most?
Why did Haru suddenly pull out a completely unknown Tier One god?
How was he even supposed to wrap this up?
Was he seriously expected to hand over his Pokémon to this damn "Legendary Collector" like some kind of idiot?
Hold on a second—who's actually Team Rocket here?!
Screw it. Time for Plan B.
Proton glanced around, then shouted at the sky:
"Sabrina! Ninja! Help me!"
No other options left—sure, calling for help was embarrassing, but it was better than ending up in the hands of that lunatic.
And just a second later, a male and female voice echoed from the rooftop and from below.
"How utterly disgraceful. Reduced to this, really?"
"And now you actually need us to save you?"
At some point, Sabrina had appeared behind Nemona, and she now spoke coldly to Haru:
"Let him go. Or I'll make a move against her."
"Oh? Go ahead."
Haru glanced at the female Executive, not even mildly fazed.
"Hmph! Don't say I didn't warn you—hm?"
Sabrina had just tried to turn Nemona into a puppet when her powers suddenly malfunctioned—an overwhelming Psychic force surged up around her, disrupting her ability completely.
And then… a whole bunch of pink "ropes" appeared out of nowhere.
And their target… was her?!
"Since when did you get the idea I wasn't using Psychic powers?"
"Nice job, Mew. Now take her to my room—I've got a thorough interrogation planned for this little 'criminal.'"
