Lucia scrabbled forward along the ground when she again felt the presence.

She was close now.

Very close.

The presence appeared once more, and Lucia lunged forward, trying to grab hold of it.

It disappeared an instant too soon, however, and she landed hard on the darkened ground.

She rolled onto her back and began to laugh.

"Next time!" she shouted, her laughter growing in volume and pitch.

The next time she felt the presence, she would not miss.

She would follow it back to her world.

She would be free.

She would again be a Goddess.

She would have her revenge.
