Chapter 6
2. Vampire Castle 3
Stragglers and mercenaries flee quickly. After dragging the wagon and chasing the soldiers, a tent and a temporary wooden camp appear. There were roughly twenty fewer soldiers starting with more than fifty.
Wounded soldiers lay on their beds screaming, and the priests rush back and forth, chanting healing spells.
“You lowlifes! This is ridiculous! You can’t even drive out trashy Trolls and Serpent-Men?”
There was a woman who was wandering the streets. He was from the Lowfire family. Soldiers dying of foul temperament and whales screaming at the commander. The commander’s face rots, not to mention the soldiers.
“You don’t know who’s keeping you alive? Of course, when something like this happens, you have to give your life to defend the castle!”
Shiram sees him whispering next to the captain.
“The Lowfire people are vicious aristocrats. He’s got a big nose, and he’s an idiot.”
“Looks that way.”
The captain didn’t want to get involved in this. Instead, Shiram and Shiram head back to the wagon to check on the group’s condition. Heindel’s use of too much divine power has left her stranded. After that, two swordsmen fainted.
This wagon was also a tent that was moving because it was a bit wide, so they didn’t have to put up a tent. Shiram is awake alone and dealing with the captain.
Unlike the captain who jumped in a Washts, they jumped through a great deal of tension and into the barricade.
“Shiram. Rest well, then. I’m going to do some personal maintenance myself.”
“Yes, sir. You were amazing today. See you tomorrow!”
The captain removed the camping facility he was carrying behind his back. It was a long rectangular plywood shape. When I put it on the ground and stepped on the button in the middle, the plaque opened and the wind leaked into it.
Like a small balloon, the whole facility quickly appeared.
“Oh.”
“What is that?”
“Is this the sacred guardian the paladins carry?”
The captain enters the facility under the gaze of wonder from the soldiers. Looking out the window, the commander is still in a rage. I couldn’t understand what a fool he was doing to those exhausted soldiers.
The captain entered a restraining bathroom, washed himself in warm water, and had dinner in a protein packet. The food these soldiers were eating was so bad that the captain didn’t want to eat it.
As the captain rested, someone knocked on the facility door while he was planning his next appointment. The camera said he was a commander. The captain opened the door in a wow suit.
“Greetings, paladin. We’re sorry we’re late.”
“I’m not a paladin. What else is there to apologize for being late? You seem to have suffered quite a bit while I was resting, thank you very much.”
Hearing that warms the eyes of this knight even more. You must have been quite fooled by the abuse of your employer.
“Thank you so much for your help earlier! I’m Herbert, a knight from the Lowfire family. I’m sorry, but as you can see, we are now isolated in these forests. The Kingdom also supports soldiers and our Lowfire Knights, but the enemy forces are not strong. Let me ask you this directly, Your Holiness. Is there anything I can help you with?”
The knight says the captain is willing to nod.
“I heard you give gold coins as a reward to mercenaries. I would be happy to assist you if you would reward me appropriately for my need for normal Doubloons. And call me Captain.”
With all my heart set on returning home, the captain asked me to call myself Captain. It felt strange, but this article seemed like I didn’t want to care about the name.
The captain didn’t know, but this name was a bit strange in this world, but it wasn’t a very rare name. It is translated as “master of the ship.”
“Are you sure? I’m so glad. Then come to the conference room.”
Lucky or unfortunate, there was no noblewoman of that lowfire in the conference room. Instead, there were officers and priests with dim expressions.
As soon as they see Hebert coming in from behind the tent, they try to say something, but when they see the captain, they inhale. The tent door is too low, so you bend down and the captain enters.
“Paladin!”
Those who recognized him welcomed him vigorously, but there were quite a few who hadn’t seen the captain. I know the Captain has been rescuing the Scouts, but I still know if I’m qualified to join this meeting.
The captain raised his visor again to show his bare face.
I remember that this method worked quite well the last time. People whisper to themselves when they see the captain’s face. The agreement was also made within them, “He is a veteran knight from a distant country, and he has left to carry out the knights last time.”
‘It helps to look a little strict.’
The commander begins a briefing as the men seem to stop the navy and acknowledge the captain.
It will take more than a day for our allies to arrive, and there is a high chance of an ambush tonight. And I never imagined that that castle would turn out that way.
It may also be because of the “Gehenna Alarm” from the Horse Tower.
“There are over a thousand soldiers in this camp, but I’m not sure I can withstand another attack like the one from last night.” So, why don’t we pay this paladin who saved us earlier and ask him for proper repayment and protection? ”
They talk to each other and the commander pulls them out.
“Your Holiness, how about fifty gold? You can hire four regular mercenaries for this amount of money.”
The captain nods. If he hired five people, 15 gold would be about three gold pieces per capita, and giving him 50 gold alone would cost him tens of times as much.
“Great, but there’s something I need you to confirm, so would you like to pay some in advance?”
Everyone nodded and gave me gold. Later on, I learned that some officers who were surprised by the captain’s terrifying fist were eager to persuade others to borrow the captain’s power in preparation for the raid that night.
And the contracts were so obvious to mercenaries that they were all accommodated without a word.
* * *
Late night came after the meeting that day.
In the wooden barracks around the clearing, the soldiers were more nervous and looked into the dark forest. The moon was shining brightly in the sky, and the stars were almost invisible.
The captain looks at the dark night sky for a moment and then walks into a camping facility carrying twenty gold. Inside the camping facility were some scientific tools, diagnostic kits, and food that could be used during a difficult time.
Of which the gold coins were placed in the component analyzer. It looked like a silver microwave, but when I activated it, the light flashed once.
[Component analysis complete. Gold Coins 1g]
The Doubloons were smaller than I expected, but they were almost fingernails. Given that the gold coins used on the ancient earth were 3-5g, the weight of 1g was much smaller than expected.
“You’ll need 10,000 gold to make 10 kg.”
[It’s a pretty interesting economic system. I can’t believe how easy it is to distribute gold. We can repair the ship faster than we thought.]
Tyrant raises his curious voice. Either way, there are 50 gold coins that help and receive an army at risk. I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to collect 10,000 gold each. However, it was encouraging to be able to get the gold sooner than I thought.
“Tyrant. What can you tell me about the Sionis’ level here?”
[Alphazeta’s Terraforming System has applied Psychovsky particles that increase cyonic sensitivity with environmental modification. Creatures grown under these particles have the ability to build mental fields outside of life that are easily adaptable to the universe.]
“But it’s hard to imagine a particle with this vast range of cyanic energy available.”
[Yes, it is expected that over time the appliance has been broken or evolved into a unique form.]
Not a hundred years, not a thousand years, but a hundred thousand years. Who knows what would have happened if he had been exposed to psychoski particles in the meantime.
But not only were the Serpent-Men covered in cyanic energy, the Trolls and the black fog, but the priests who came and went among the people emitted cyanic energy from their hands to heal them.
“Obviously, I feel like I’m in the far future.” ”
The captain quietly looks at the stars from afar.
