Chapter 93 - Refreshing Uniform
After delivering the gift, Ruo Manni also retrieved her starry mech. That night, when she returned to her dormitory, she couldn’t wait to enter the jade pendant space.
Although the jade pendant space wasn’t very large, it was enough to accommodate a mech for free movement, allowing Ruo Manni to perform some basic activities and get familiar with the mech. She wouldn’t need to wait in line at the mech training facility, saving both time and credits.
Only by having it could one truly understand that a level five mech was advanced not just because of its materials, but also because its sensing system was incomparable to that of a level one mech, with almost no sensing delay.
However, the consumption of mental energy was significantly high—at least ten times that of a level one mech. Just doing some basic training, Ruo Manni could only maintain her mental energy for three hours. If it were against an enemy, she might not even last an hour.
Fortunately, her teacher had not only given her the mech but also shared insights on how to pilot it, including tips on how to reduce mental energy consumption. However, the most important thing remained to enhance her cultivation fundamentally.
Five days quickly passed. With school starting tomorrow, Ruo Manni needed to readjust all her training. She would have to arrange her private training plan based on the school curriculum.
Therefore, without Ruo Manni needing to say anything, the instructors responsible for testing her data at the three training facilities had already prepared a summary for her. Upon seeing the summary data, smiles appeared on the faces of each instructor and coach.
“Ruo Manni, your diligent training over the past five days has led to significant progress in several areas.”
“Your mental energy data has increased again.”
“In these five days, your physical fitness has increased by a total of three points.”
These data not only represented Ruo Manni’s success but also reflected the instructors’ and coaches’ analysis and assistance regarding her performance. This would be their achievement and could be exchanged for military merit points.
During these five days, Ruo Manni became very popular in the three training facilities. As a legendary genius who was also receptive to guidance, it was no surprise that everyone liked her, so they took their responsibilities towards her very seriously.
In this atmosphere of training, Ruo Manni would only gain more.
Today, she came out of the gravity training facility later than yesterday.
After turning off her communications in the gravity training room, Ruo Manni found that Dean Atchison and Mina Olli had both sent her messages, inviting her to dinner at a restaurant outside the school.
Seeing these two messages, Ruo Manni suddenly realized that for the past five days, she had done nothing but train.
She hadn’t left the campus at all, and not only had she not explored the outside, but she hadn’t even taken the time to wander around the school campus.
Ruo Manni looked at the time the two had sent their messages; it was just a few minutes ago. She thought she could still make it in time for a hearty meal if she hurried.
However, since the two had made separate invitations and the locations were different, Ruo Manni felt it would be inappropriate to accept either one. Especially considering that Dean Atchison and Hua Deli were cousins, their positions were subtly antagonistic due to the former queen, and Ruo Manni didn’t want to get caught in the middle of it.
So, Ruo Manni replied to each message: “I just came out of the training facility and I’m exhausted. I just want to go back and rest. I’ll treat you next time when I have the chance.”
Dean Atchison replied instantly: “You’re pushing yourself too hard. Make sure to rest well.”
Mina Olli’s message came a few minutes later: “See you tomorrow.”
Back in her dorm, Ruo Manni spent some time piloting the mecha in her space.
The night passed without incident. Ruo Manni entered the holographic swimming pod earlier than usual, adding an extra hour to her deep sleep time to ensure she would be in good spirits for the next day.
Today was the official start of the school year, and Ruo Manni woke up feeling a little excited and hopeful.
She put on the summer uniform of the Xuan Gu First Military Academy, which she had received on the same day she got her student card.
The style of the uniform was similar to that of a military dress, but instead of black, it was blue, with sky blue complemented by white trim, giving it a fresh overall look.
After putting it on, Ruo Manni looked in the mirror and found that the uniform made her appearance seem delicate and pure, like a white lotus flower.
Ruo Manni could hardly believe her eyes. She had only not looked in the mirror for a little over two months, yet her appearance had changed so dramatically.
Three months ago, her look had been youthful and somewhat naive, but now it had transformed into something so pure. Such a stark contrast was quite frustrating; given her current identity, she should look fierce instead!
Ruo Manni, unwilling to give up, took another look in the mirror but ultimately sighed in resignation. After all, it wasn’t her fault; if others judged her by her looks, that was their issue.
Mina Olli and Sheila were also top students, so their dormitory was right next to Ruo Manni’s. As soon as she stepped out, she saw them waiting for her.
The uniform-style school clothes highlighted the beauty of military academy girls, showcasing a perfect blend of grace and strength while making them look vibrant and full of energy.
“All the students on this floor live alone; the others are upperclassmen who went out to train early this morning,” Sheila informed Ruo Manni, revealing her knack for gossip.
Feeling a bit embarrassed as the early bird, Ruo Manni realized that during these past few days, she had been so focused on her training that she hadn’t paid attention to anything else.
“Let’s go,” Mina Olli said.
Ruo Manni’s shame quickly faded; she trusted that Mina Olli wasn’t a gossip either. It was Sheila who was the odd one out, with her two-to-one ratio.
Neither Ruo Manni nor Mina Olli were particularly talkative, so the three of them walked in silence, and naturally, Sheila didn’t feel the need to speak up either.
The three girls walked out in a row; although they were silent, the atmosphere was very harmonious.
After spending more than two months together, even though most of the time was dedicated to training and they hardly had any time to converse, their relationship was still closer than that of other freshmen due to this shared experience.
In the novel, Mina Olli had a charm value of ninety points, while Ruo Manni had eighty-five. Based on Ruo Manni’s estimation, Sheila was certainly above seventy-five, so all three girls could be considered beautiful. It was no wonder they attracted so many glances as they walked down the street.
Today was the first day of school, and there were many students on the road, but they all shared a common feature: the ratio of girls was relatively low.
The opening ceremony was held in the large sports field where Ruo Manni had gone jogging that morning. By the time they arrived, many military academy students were already gathered there.
That morning, Ruo Manni found out that their mentor, Li Xingtai, would be their class instructor. He created a class chat group and added her along with ten other new students. The group was named the “960 Elite Class.”
Li, the class instructor, had sent a message that morning instructing them to wear their uniforms and assemble, along with a location pin for where their class would be during the opening ceremony.
“There are eleven of us in this year’s elite class because of the sudden appearance of the second prince. In previous years, each elite class only had ten students,” she explained.
The three of them walked in silence until they reached the bustling sports field. After looking around for a while, Sheila couldn’t help but gossip, “The second prince is a year older than us, but his cultivation is higher than that of the fourth-year seniors. He could easily attend second or third grade, so why is he in first grade?”
