Chapter 175 - Dull and Dismal
From Ruo Manni’s perspective, in the current world, Hua Deli’s cultivation is even stronger and more impressive than in the novel. However, because of the presence of Hebrew Adam, who surpasses him both in identity and cultivation, his protagonist’s halo seems dim and lackluster.
Both are in the same place and the same tier, but Hebrew Adam completely overshadows Hua Deli. Whether it’s forming the guild or clearing dungeons, there’s no doubt that Hebrew Adam is the leader.
Hebrew Adam is nothing like the debauched young master described in the novel. Not only does he have exceptional combat abilities, but his intelligence is also on par with Hua Deli’s. Since the start of the school year, Ruo Manni has never seen Hua Deli show any sign of discontent.
Ruo Manni is quite surprised at how much a person can change. Hebrew Adam hasn’t been reborn or transported; it’s puzzling how he seems to be a completely different person from the one in the novel.
While changes in cultivation potential might just be due to physical changes, how could intelligence change? Ruo Manni speculates that Hebrew Adam’s intelligence might have always been high. It’s just that his mediocre cultivation potential might have prevented him from being recognized as a genius, leading him to adopt a frivolous lifestyle instead.
Ruo Manni thinks about it and realizes that the novel’s second prince is a jerk, but it never describes him as foolish.
Looking at the dungeon locations and strategies that Hebrew Adam obtained, Ruo Manni can’t help but admire him.
Despite everyone leveling up to level ten within half an hour, Hebrew Adam not only established the guild but also acquired the dungeon strategies.
She didn’t even know where Hebrew Adam found the dungeon strategy, and even Hua Deli looked impressed.
Ruo Manni glanced at the approximate location of the dungeon and confirmed that it wasn’t the same one the novel’s main characters first explored. The novel described that dungeon as being located in a wilderness, while this one was on the edge of a forest.
Hebrew Adam looked at the trees on the forest’s edge for a moment, then suddenly ordered, “Everyone, come over here immediately.”
The other four, who had been watching him, quickly gathered around. Hebrew Adam drew his long knife and struck it against the trunk of a tree.
At the base of the tree, which was large enough for three people to embrace, a black hole suddenly appeared. A strong suction force pulled them inside.
The method of entry looked quite frightening if there were others present, but in reality, Ruo Manni and the others only felt the space around them shift before they found themselves standing firmly at the edge of a large square, with no danger or excitement.
Ruo Manni looked out at the square, where two or three hundred small monsters were walking around aimlessly.
Her task panel displayed “Square Altar Dungeon” with the objective being Pandora’s Necklace.
“How should we tackle this, guild leader?” Hua Deli asked.
“I don’t have detailed strategy instructions,” Hebrew Adam replied. “It just says we need to kill the boss and retrieve the necklace from her neck to complete the task.”
“Well then, let’s take out these small monsters and push straight to the center of the square,” Dean Atchison said with a seasoned tone, clearly an experienced player.
“Right, the square is filled with level five and six small monsters. With our damage output, we can almost eliminate them with a single hit. We’ll push straight into the inner square and then assess the situation,” Hebrew Adam responded after a moment of thought.
“We’ll advance in a line,” Hebrew Adam added.
The five of them were top-tier players in the youth group, known for their high damage output. Taking down level five and six monsters was a trivial task. Ruo Manni had no objections; those monsters had around five hundred health points and low agility, so they could be dealt with in two or three hits, making them perfect for practicing her newly learned Flowing Cloud Sword Technique.
Meanwhile, at the Whirlwind Guild, the player “I Am the Senior” was setting up the guild’s base. His teammate had invited the newly ranked 10th player to join the guild.
“This year’s freshmen are really impressive. The 9th-place player is also from their guild. Now their guild has six members. They’re probably already starting to farm dungeons, while we still don’t have enough members. It seems we won’t be able to secure the first kill of the dungeon,” said I Am the Senior’s teammate.
“When has the Second Prince ever been content to be overshadowed? Even if he was a playboy before, he wouldn’t allow others to underestimate him. Now that he has both ability and luck, not only is he strong himself, but his teammates are also formidable. How could he let others get ahead of him?” I Am the Senior said.
“That black-haired girl we traded with yesterday, is she really the rumored genius telekinetic? It’s a pity we couldn’t recruit her. Are we going to end up being a guild with only single members?” I Am the Senior’s teammate asked.
“As long as you have the ability to recruit capable girls into the guild, I won’t oppose it,” I Am the Senior replied with a glance.
“I don’t have that ability. In our mech combat department, if there’s even one girl, there would be at least five or six protectors. I can’t beat so many of them,” his teammate exaggeratedly said. “The girls in other departments are too delicate, none of them are strong enough. How can we be friends with them? It’s said that there are even fewer women in the military. At this rate, we’re bound to be single.”
Looking for a girlfriend isn’t the same as looking for an opponent. With this mindset, it’s no wonder he’s always talking about wanting a relationship but only ends up talking empty words. I Am the Senior thought disdainfully.
“The boys in this year’s elite class are indeed lucky. The elite class has never had so many girls, and three of them are beauties. We’re the most unlucky ones, with not a single girl in our class. Among the four elite classes, we’re the only single class,” I Am the Senior’s teammate expressed various feelings of envy and jealousy toward the boys in this year’s elite class.
Even having just one girl would be better. Although the chances of him making a move are slim, at least it would be a relief to have something pleasant to look at. Seeing only rough boys every day is really nauseating.
I Am the Senior’s teammate looked disdainful, completely unaware that he himself was the roughest of the rough boys.
“Dreaming is more realistic,” I Am the Senior said mercilessly. “Hurry up and get to work, stop wasting time. Our team should be complete tomorrow as well, so don’t delay our dungeon run.”
I Am the Senior’s teammate continued to think, then suddenly chuckled. “Captain, that genius telekinetic girl seems really impressive. Now that you have her contact information, if you don’t mind that she’s a commoner, you could pursue her. She’s beautiful, has a good personality, and more importantly, her cultivation potential is definitely above E-grade. To be honest, a genius like her being a commoner might even be better—fewer family constraints and complicated social connections. As long as her family supports her, she’s bound to lean towards them.”
I Am the Senior paused, looking thoughtful. His teammate’s eyes suddenly lit up. “No way, you’re actually interested? You haven’t even met her yet. Aren’t you usually so cold-hearted? You even pushed away a junior who threw herself at you.”
I Am the Senior gave him a disdainful look, thinking how some people just can’t stop causing trouble.
