Chapter 57 – S Class Meeting
Inside The Meeting Room
3rd POV
In the heart of the dimly lit room, several figures gather around a long, sleek table that dominates the space. The table, a marvel of advanced technology, features an embedded screen that stretches across its surface. Scattered throughout the room are numerous pieces of advanced furniture, mirroring the table's design in smaller forms. Each sleek, modular unit boasts its own built-in screen, displaying streams of data in a rhythmic flow. A soft, pulsing blue light emanates from these screens, casting an ethereal glow across the room and highlighting the contours of the attendees’ faces in a cool, otherworldly hue.
The figures around the table are each absorbed in their own unique moods, adding to the room’s intense atmosphere. One of them, leaning back in his chair with a casual arrogance, has his feet propped up on the edge of the table, his gaze fixed on the ceiling. Another, oblivious to the tension, is hunched over a pack of snacks, methodically munching away, his eyes never leaving his food. Across the table, a figure sits stiffly, arms crossed tightly, with a piercing stare locked onto everyone, as if trying to show his willpower. Near the back of the room, standing just behind a bald figure who occupies what is supposed to be his seat, is a young man with a cyborg body. Arms casually folded but his eyes constantly darting between the others, as though evaluating each move and word. The interplay of these contrasting expressions and postures, all bathed in the cool blue light, creates an atmosphere thick with unspoken tension, where every glance and gesture seems to carry weight. The room hums with quiet intensity, as if on the verge of something significant.
These figures are none other than the S-Class heroes, the elite chosen by the Hero Association for their extraordinary achievements and unrivaled power. Each one has faced and overcome threats that would have annihilated lesser beings. Their presence in this room signifies not only their status but the immense responsibility that rests on their shoulders.
Starting from the below is the S Rank 18. Demon Cyborg, Genos. 'It must be serious, Almost everyone is here,'
S Rank 17, Raven of Abyss, Amanozako Rena. 'Woah, every S Class is here in the flesh!'
S Rank 16, Puri-Puri Prisoner. 'So he's Genos, the new S Class. Cute, Let's take this chance to get closer...'
S Rank 15, Metal Bat, Bad. "Demon or dragon bring it on,"
S Rank 14, Tank Top Master. 'What a C Class doing here...'
S Rank 13, Flashy Flash. "..."
S Rank 12, Watchdog Man. "sniff* sniff*" 'Somebody farted.'
S Rank 11, Superalloy Darkshine. 'Everyone is looking at my muscle, they're looking!'
S Rank 10, Pig God. "Munch* munch*"
S Rank 9, Drive Knight. "..."
S Rank 8, Zombieman. 'No one looks particularly enthusiastic. And when is that pig going to stop eating?'
S Rank 7, Metal Knight, Bofoi. (Only his robot is present, recording video and voices.)
S Rank 6, King. "..."
S Rank 5, Child Emperor. 'Rank 1 and 2 didn't show? is this meeting really urgent?'
S Rank 4, Atomic Samurai, Kamikaze. 'Silver Fang, are you gonna take that C Class as your student?'
S Rank 3, Silver Fang, Bang. "And, when the meeting will start?"
S Rank 2, Tornado Of Terror, Tatsumaki. (Absent)
S Rank 1, Blast. (Absent)
C Rank 388, Saitama. "Can I have some tea?"
Everyone turned to look at Saitama, bewildered by his sudden remark. Just then, the metal door slid open, revealing three well-dressed figures. "Sorry, I'm a little late. Blast and Tornado of Terror's locations are unknown, and we haven’t been able to reach them. No sense in waiting any longer, so let's begin the emergency meeting." One of the figures spoke with authority.
"I'm the one who's been trusted to explain things to you all. You can call me Sitch. I'm with the Association. Let's get right down to brass tacks." Sitch then began to explain why the Hero Association had summoned them.
It turns out Earth is in grave danger, according to Sitch's explanation. After a moment of intense discussion and some brief quarrels among the heroes, everyone fell silent. No one dared to utter a word in the face of the terrifying fact that Earth would soon enter a dangerous period.
Thump*, thump*. King's heartbeat echoed loudly in the room. Not long after, someone finally spoke. "We get it, but the word ‘soon’ doesn’t exactly help us know when this danger will strike." It was S-Rank 12, Watchdog Man, who broke the silence.
"Yeah, it’s hard to plan for that." Flashy Flash chimed in.
"You’re correct. But I want you all to be ready for a fight that could happen at any moment. Moreover, the absence of our top heroes significantly impacts our manpower," Sitch explained.
"If it’s Blast, I understand. But do you know what’s happened to Tatsumaki, Sitch?" Zombieman asked, glancing at the empty seat meant for the absent hero.
"That’s... we don’t know. Originally, we called you here to discuss her disappearance, but the prediction of Earth's imminent danger coincided, so we decided to address this matter first." Sitch’s tone was grave.
"You say ‘soon,’ but isn’t it possible that ‘soon’ could be, like, right now? Or maybe in one minute?" a voice spoke up from the edge of the table. It was the only C-Class in the room, Saitama.
"W-well, that’s true, but... who are you?" Sitch asked, taken aback.
"Heh, I’m—" Before Saitama could finish his introduction, Raven of Abyss suddenly stood up.
"It seems Saitama is right. We’re under attack," Raven of Abyss, Amanozako Rena, announced. All eyes turned to her and the kid she was carrying.
"Eh, what do you—" Before Sitch could finish his sentence, the ground beneath them began to shake violently. An earthquake had struck.
