Part-76
James paused, the grin fading into a thoughtful expression after thinking about this Bully Emperors nature. "They're like the puppet masters, pulling the strings and making sure everything runs according to their rules. It's almost like they have their own underground empire within the school, with each of them commanding a group of followers. Their influence stretches far and wide, and they maintain a tight grip on everything that happens."
The thought was daunting, but he shook it off with a laugh. "But hey, if I can handle a few karate moves, maybe I can learn to handle a Bully Emperor… someday. It's not just about the physical stuff; it's about understanding their strategies, getting into their heads, and maybe even outsmarting them. It’s a challenge, but who knows? With enough practice and determination, anything’s possible."
His eyes sparkled with a mix of excitement and determination. The idea of confronting these elusive figures was intimidating, yet it also stirred a sense of adventure within him. He imagined himself standing up to them, breaking their hold over the school, and bringing justice to those they had oppressed. It was a long shot, but it was a goal worth striving for.
James chuckled, he didn't know what the future held, but for the first time since the encounter with Sourov, he felt a spark of hope. He wasn't just the same shy kid anymore. He was stronger, more confident than before, he was ready to face whatever challenges awaited him with system.
"So," he began, his voice brimming with newfound determination, "what do you say we learn a little more about this place? Maybe they offer introductory classes for… delicate boys who learned a few karate moves?"
Mili's steps quickened as she led James down a few floors, the rhythmic thump of bodies hitting the mats growing louder with each step.
The kickboxing training area was located on the 7th floor. As they made their way down to the fifth floor, the sound of their footsteps echoed in the stairwell.
"Say, Mili, do you know any kind of martial art?" James asked curiously, breaking the silence.
Mili shook her head with a slight smile. "No, I don't. I'm not really physically fit for martial arts. I think I would lose in every match if I ever participated in a martial arts contest."
James nodded thoughtfully. "I see. So why did you take up cycling? That's also a matter of fitness, but it seems you're really good at it."
Mili's smile widened as she explained, "Well, my legs are somewhat stronger because of my kickboxing training. And to be honest, in our country, there aren't many girls from a martial arts background who are into cycling. So, I guess I was lucky enough to stand out in that regard. Plus, being fit for cycling and being fit for martial arts are two entirely different things, you know?"
James smiled back, appreciating her perspective. "I see."
As they continued their descent, James couldn't help but admire Mili's determination and unique approach to fitness. It was clear that she had found her own path, combining elements from different disciplines to create something that worked for her. He found it inspiring, and it made him think about his own approach to fitness and how he could improve.
