Chapter 110: A Move Reserved for the Gods!

Scarlet flames surged into the air, generating a wave of scorching heat that swept across the arena. The dust and debris on the bluestone surface were blown away in all directions as a fierce, towering aura erupted skyward.

"What an incredible aura... It's on a completely different level compared to Bai Shan!"

"Yeah, it's unbelievably strong. Feels like it's already comparable to some of our instructors!"

"Does that mean he's at the Dou Spirit level?"

"No, this must be some kind of secret technique… but it's still insanely powerful!"

"Can Lu Bu handle it?"

"Not sure… but his expression hasn't changed at all…"

The spectators murmured among themselves. There were only six contestants left in the competition; one more elimination would determine the top five.

Xiao Yan was eager to secure his spot among the top five, but even more so, he was eager to defeat Lu Bu. Achieving both goals simultaneously would be the ultimate victory.

"Ha!"

Xiao Yan roared, stomping the ground hard enough to kick up a cloud of dust. His figure flickered within the haze, disappearing once again.

With Yao Lao concealing his movements, Lu Bu could only rely on his eyes. The rising cloud of dust added an extra layer of cover.

Suddenly, the sound of something slicing through the air rang out beside Lu Bu. A fist wrapped in scarlet flames shot toward his temple like a flaming phoenix eye hammer, the strike deadly and precise.

Xiao Yan's eyes gleamed with determination. Carrying the Heavy Xuan Ruler might have constrained his true strength, but now, without its weight holding him back, he was at his peak.

Lu Bu chuckled lightly, tilting his body slightly to the side as he raised the broken spear shaft in his hand, positioning it beside his temple.

Clang!

A metallic clang echoed as Xiao Yan's flaming fist met the steel shaft. Undeterred, Xiao Yan let out a bellow and unleashed a flurry of punches, his fists springing forward like coiled springs. In an instant, dozens of fiery blows targeted Lu Bu's vital points his throat, chest, spine, and chin.

The crimson flames trailing from his punches stretched into straight, glowing lines, creating an overwhelming barrage of attacks. The fierce and terrifying energy from each strike aimed directly at Lu Bu's most vulnerable spots.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

In that moment, Xiao Yan became a blur of interwoven red and black shadows. His fists, palms, elbows, knees, and feet all transformed into lethal weapons, each one brimming with explosive power.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

"Xiao Yan is so strong… It's not just his cultivation; his offensive power is equally terrifying."

"Yeah, if his opponent were Bai Shan, he'd have already been defeated after the first exchange!"

"No wonder Xun'er waited two years for him. Honestly, I'd wait for someone like that too!"

"...Hey, aren't you guys focusing on the wrong thing?"

"Huh?"

"Don't you notice? Every single one of Xiao Yan's attacks is landing on that broken spear shaft in Lu Bu's hand!"

"The sound of fists hitting steel… He hasn't even broken through Lu Bu's defense!"

"What?"

Hearing this, the spectators focused intently, their faces slack with astonishment. They had been so captivated by Xiao Yan's relentless assault that they hadn't noticed the crucial detail: Xiao Yan's seemingly unstoppable barrage hadn't forced Lu Bu back even an inch.

Instead, Lu Bu remained calm and steady, like a small boat riding out a storm. He appeared precariously close to danger, but in reality, he navigated the onslaught with effortless composure.

Every one of Xiao Yan's attacks was neatly deflected by Lu Bu's broken spear shaft, unable to penetrate his defense.

Momentum is a fleeting thing. It can soar high in the beginning, but it inevitably fades. No one can sustain a relentless offensive indefinitely.

Before long, Xiao Yan's attack rhythm began to slow.

Clang!

With a deft movement, Lu Bu deflected another of Xiao Yan's strikes, the sound echoing sharply. By now, Xiao Yan was visibly panting, his breathing ragged.

"Well, my turn now… Be careful," Lu Bu said with a faint smile.

Xiao Yan's pupils contracted sharply. Before Lu Bu even finished speaking, his voice seemed to trail off into the distance, becoming ethereal and elusive.

Lu Bu had moved.

Xiao Yan's Beast Flame surged wildly, forming a suit of crimson armor around him in the blink of an eye.

But just as the Dou Qi armor materialized, a steel rod wreathed in cyan flames sliced through the air and smashed into Xiao Yan's armor.

Clang!!!

The impact reverberated like the tolling of a great bell, echoing across the arena.

Encased in his scarlet armor, Xiao Yan was sent flying backward, tumbling through the air uncontrollably.

The sheer force of the impact generated a shockwave that swept across the stage, dispersing all the lingering smoke and debris in an instant. The bluestone platform was now spotless, devoid of even a speck of dust.

However, cracks began to spread across the surface of Xiao Yan's crimson armor, creeping outward like spiderwebs.

The spectators gawked, their jaws practically hitting the floor. How could Lu Bu be so overwhelmingly strong, as though he had no limits?

"Should I step in?" Nalan Yanran asked, gripping her sword tightly, her lips pressed into a tense line.

"Not yet. Brother Xiao Yan won't be defeated so easily," Xiao Xun'er replied in a low voice. But despite her calm tone, her golden eyes glimmered with unease, and the golden flames flickering on her palm betrayed her inner conflict. Even she wasn't fully convinced by her own words.

In the arena, Lu Bu took a step forward, the motion causing a light breeze to stir. Dust curled and swirled at his feet as he silently vanished once more.

Clang!!!

The deafening roar, like a thunderclap, exploded once more. The spectators closest to the action instinctively covered their ears as the terrifying shockwave stabbed painfully into their eardrums, leaving them no choice but to protect themselves.

Crack! Crack!

Xiao Yan's Dou Qi armor, resilient as it was, could not withstand another blow. Pieces of the armor began to shatter and fall away, leaving his figure faintly visible through the gaps.

"Attack now!" Xiao Xun'er shouted, her voice sharp with urgency, but her wrist was caught by Nalan Yanran.

"No, not yet. Xiao Yan's aura is rapidly declining," Nalan Yanran said firmly. "In this state, he's likely preparing a powerful Dou Technique."

Boom!

The next moment, a greenish gray flame burst forth from Xiao Yan's crimson armor. His teeth were clenched tightly, his face flushed red, and veins bulged prominently on his forehead.

The weakening aura that had alarmed everyone suddenly surged back to its peak and beyond, becoming even more ferocious than before.

Heavenly Flame Three Mysterious Transformations: Qing Ming Transformation!

"What? He can still unleash another secret technique?"

"What a ferocious transformation! It almost tore his body apart!"

On the platform above, the elders exchanged shocked glances. With their experience, they could tell that this was not a life draining technique like others of its kind.

"That flame Xiao Yan is using… it's definitely a Heavenly Flame!"

"And that azure flame Lu Bu wields it must be one as well. These students this year are extraordinary!" one elder commented, his tone filled with admiration and envy.

"Old Fire, are you certain?"

"Of course I am! I've spent my entire life playing with fire how could I not recognize it?"

"Hiss… Those two brats are unbelievably lucky!"

On the battlefield, Xiao Yan's eyes turned pale white, his hands forming complex seals before him. Crimson and greenish gray flames rose up and intertwined in a chaotic dance, coalescing into a wolf shaped flame construct in his palms.

With a furious roar, Xiao Yan thrust his hands forward. The fiery wolf, composed of intertwining crimson and green gray flames, charged toward Lu Bu in a blazing torrent.

"Hmm… Flame fusion?" Lu Bu chuckled and raised his left hand, pushing it forward. Azure flames surged forth from him, colliding with Xiao Yan's attack.

Xiao Yan sneered coldly and swiftly formed a new hand seal, shouting, "Explode!"

Boom!!!

A thunderous explosion rocked the arena, shaking the ground violently. Even those seated in the spectator stands could feel the tremors coursing through the earth beneath them.

Thick smoke and debris erupted into the air, reducing the battlefield to a ruined wasteland. At the center of the blast, the crimson and green gray flames continued to burn and swirl chaotically.

The audience fell into a stunned silence as they stared at the devastated arena, unsure of what to say.

"Lu Bu… Is he alright?" Hu Jia muttered nervously, beads of cold sweat running down her forehead. Xiao Yan, she realized, was not someone to be trifled with either.

"I don't know. If it were me in his place… I'd be on the brink of death," Wu Hao said solemnly, gripping his blood red greatsword tightly. He knew neither of these two were opponents he could hope to defeat, but he vowed to keep pushing himself.

"It looks like we've won!" Nalan Yanran exhaled a sigh of relief, her tense shoulders easing slightly.

"...I'm not sure. We should stay on guard!" Xiao Xun'er replied hesitantly. Although she shared Nalan Yanran's reasoning, her instincts screamed that it wasn't over yet.

Boom!!!

Suddenly, a massive azure pillar of fire shot skyward, sweeping through the battlefield with overwhelming force. In an instant, the azure flames consumed and obliterated the mingled crimson and green gray fire.

"Not bad. Like Bai Shan, you almost managed to defeat me!" Lu Bu's calm, mocking voice rang out as he stepped forward, his silhouette emerging from the flames unscathed.

He pinched his thumb and index finger together, leaving a tiny gap the width of a hair. "Just this much closer, and you might've succeeded."

Given that his clothes remained pristine and his hair perfectly styled, the "hair's breadth" he referred to might as well have been the size of the entire Black Corner Region.

Xiao Yan's expression turned deathly pale. He had exhausted all his techniques, yet… he hadn't even managed to inflict a single scratch. A sense of despair began creeping into his heart.

Lu Bu took a step forward, his figure vanishing like a phantom.

"Be careful!" Yao Lao's urgent voice echoed in Xiao Yan's mind, snapping him out of his disheartened daze.

But it was already too late.

Bam!

A silver white rod engulfed in azure flames materialized out of nowhere, striking Xiao Yan square in the face.

Several white teeth flew into the air as Xiao Yan spat out blood and was sent hurtling through the sky like a broken kite.

"Xiao Yan! / Brother Xiao Yan!"

Nalan Yanran and Xiao Xun'er screamed in alarm, but Lu Bu's assault wasn't finished yet.

Catching Xiao Yan's ankle mid air with his pale hand, Lu Bu grinned wickedly and twisted his body before slamming Xiao Yan down toward the ground.

Boom!

The impact sent a cloud of dust and debris billowing into the air.
