Chapter 3: Chapter 3
**Chapter 3: I'm Going to Be a Father!**
"Brother, I'm sorry," said Nalan Yanran apologetically, lowering her head after Yun Yun left.
Her demeanor reflected guilt, as though she had made a significant mistake.
Less than six months into her apprenticeship under Yun Yun, Nalan Yanran had already developed a deep crush on her senior brother, Chen Feng. She silently vowed never to marry anyone but him.
However, the arranged marriage hanging over her was a constant headache.
Compared to her talented and handsome senior brother, her fiancé seemed utterly worthless—a stark contrast in every way.
If you were a woman, wouldn't you choose someone like Chen Feng, who is both good-looking and gifted? Nalan Yanran was no exception.
To win over her senior brother, she never dared reveal her existing engagement. What if he minded? She had thought about discussing it with her teacher to secretly annul the arrangement.
But it was all over now. Today, her teacher had brought up the marriage in front of her senior brother.
Fortunately, Chen Feng seemed unconcerned.
Her senior brother was so understanding!
"It's okay. It's not your fault," Chen Feng said, looking at her with a calm expression.
He didn't blame her. After all, the real culprit was the old patriarch of the Nalan family who had arranged the marriage.
Besides, Chen Feng had no reason to mind. If he cared, why would he entertain her affections?
To him, it was just a marriage contract—no big deal. Even if they were already married, it wouldn't matter to him.
For clarity, though, he didn't consider himself some kind of saint or thief. It was a mutual understanding, with both parties getting what they wanted.
"Brother, don't worry. I'll break off the engagement as soon as possible," Nalan Yanran promised. She was determined to resolve this issue, fearing it might affect Chen Feng's opinion of her.
Chen Feng thought for a moment before replying, "Let me handle the engagement annulment. It's not right for you, as a woman, to handle something like this alone."
In the original story, Nalan Yanran's flashy method of breaking the engagement had attracted a lot of resentment from Xiao Yan.
As the "Son of Destiny," Xiao Yan was not someone Chen Feng wanted to provoke. Even with his system, Chen Feng knew better than to challenge the protagonist of the plane.
Moreover, both he and Xiao Yan were time travelers—essentially "fellow villagers." For this reason, Chen Feng decided to tread carefully.
His system, designed for growing stronger through children, didn't directly conflict with Xiao Yan's path. Involving himself unnecessarily could only hinder his own development.
But now that he'd effectively "taken" Xiao Yan's fiancée, avoiding animosity seemed almost impossible. The best course of action was a diplomatic and less hostile annulment.
Chen Feng resolved to visit the Xiao family in Wutan City and personally handle the matter on Nalan Yanran's behalf.
Although he couldn't guarantee a peaceful outcome, he could at least minimize the level of hatred to avoid any "Three-Year Agreement" or "Sect Annihilation" scenarios.
"Okay," Nalan Yanran said, visibly relieved. She was touched by how much her senior brother cared for her.
However, she still worried. "But, Brother, what if he refuses to cancel the engagement?"
"Don't worry. If it comes to that, I'll take care of it," Chen Feng reassured her with a gentle smile.
His words calmed her. "Brother, you're the best!"
Gazing at the considerate man before her, Nalan Yanran felt lucky to have such an outstanding senior brother. Overcome with emotion, she snuggled into his arms.
"Junior Sister, now that you are my woman, your concerns are naturally my concerns," Chen Feng said, holding her slender waist. His tone carried a hint of dominance as he continued, "No matter what happens, I will always stand behind you, supporting you."
At that moment, Nalan Yanran felt as though she was drowning in an ocean of love, wrapped in sheer bliss.
"Brother, love me again," she whispered.
The Next Day
Early in the morning, Chen Feng reluctantly crawled out of Nalan Yanran's bed.
If he didn't head to the back mountain soon, Yun Yun would undoubtedly criticize him for being late.
Once he arrived, he went straight to a small grove where Yun Yun was already waiting.
"Teacher," Chen Feng greeted her respectfully.
Yun Yun, dressed in her signature white gown, stood with her elegant black hair styled into a phoenix's cry. Her noble aura was unmistakable, and her tranquil beauty resembled a clear mountain spring.
Her presence inspired both awe and a touch of desire in Chen Feng.
"The teacher grows more alluring by the day," Chen Feng thought, secretly admiring her.
Yun Yun gave him a calm glance. "Let's begin."
"Yes, Teacher," Chen Feng replied. He summoned a spear from his storage ring and began practicing his Thunderbolt Spear Technique.
The spear moved with lightning speed, creating explosive gas sounds as it cut through the air.
"Teacher, please advise me," Chen Feng said after finishing his demonstration.
"Your technique has improved significantly," Yun Yun acknowledged, clearly pleased.
Although her weapon of choice wasn't a spear, her status as a Douhuang master allowed her to provide insightful guidance.
After offering some advice, she dismissed him, leaving the back mountain.
Three Days Later
Perhaps Yun Yun's words had made an impression because Nalan Yanran hadn't visited Chen Feng for the past three days, unwilling to disturb his training.
This left Chen Feng restless, having just tasted the sweetness of love. Visiting the female disciples' quarters wasn't an option, so he focused on practicing his Thunderbolt Spear Technique.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! Nalan Yanran is now pregnant. A system gift package has been awarded."
"Ding! As this is the first time the Host has successfully impregnated a woman, the reward is doubled—a super gift package has been granted. Please keep up the good work!"
The system's prompt stunned Chen Feng before realization dawned.
"I'm going to be a father?"
Chen Feng's surprise soon turned into excitement. He hadn't expected success after just one night.
"Hard work pays off," he mused, turning his attention to the system rewards.
