The sudden laughter brought the lively cheers to an abrupt halt.

At the same time, as the protective barrier around the academy shattered, a man with a maple leaf embroidered on his robe stepped forward, chuckling softly.

The man was quite handsome, with slightly thin lips curved in a faint smile. Yet, this smile gave no warmth—instead, it carried a sharp, chilling edge.

Behind the man, a large group of powerful figures, all prominent in the Black-Corner Region, unfolded their Dou Qi wings, filling the air with a formidable aura! Countless students stared at the sudden appearance of these figures in the sky, looking bewildered and unsure of the situation.

In the sky, Su Qian's face darkened as he glared at the group who had broken through the barrier. His gaze eventually landed on the man at the forefront, clad in an alchemist's robe.

Narrowing his eyes, Su Qian sneered, "Well, look who it is—it's Han Feng, the so-called 'Medicine Emperor' of the Black-Corner Region."

"Hehe, Grand Elder, you flatter me. That title is nothing more than a casual gift from friends in the Black-Corner Region, nothing to take seriously."

The man called Han Feng gave a thin smile, looking at Su Qian as he spoke.

"Han Feng, this is Jia Nan Academy's territory. Coming here uninvited, what is it you want?"

Hu Gan, the vice dean of the outer academy, looked equally displeased with Han Feng's arrival. He slowly rose to stand behind Su Qian, demanding of Han Feng in a cold voice.

"Oh? So he's Han Feng, is he… Yao Zun's eldest disciple."

From a hidden spot on the ground, Mo Yu narrowed his silver eyes slightly at the name, assessing this fool who, despite holding all the right cards, managed to waste his potential.

Since being reborn into the Dou Qi Continent, Mo Yu had fully integrated into this world. He had also come to understand the esteemed status alchemists held across the continent.

Through memories of the original storyline and his regular chats with She Lao, Mo Yu now knew just how highly regarded Yao Lao had once been on the Dou Qi Continent.

Yao Lao had been the top alchemist of the continent, a name known throughout Central Plains!

When experts mentioned Yao Zun's name, it was with deep reverence. Even the usually haughty She Lao spoke of Yao Lao with respect whenever he discussed him with Mo Yu.

Of course, Mo Yu, knowing the original story, was aware that Yao Lao's title as the continent's greatest alchemist was mostly superficial.

When analyzing Yao Lao's claim as the top alchemist, it should be divided into two phases: before and after Xiao Yan helped him revive.

Before his rebirth, even with the strength of an eight-grade advanced alchemist, Yao Lao wasn't the strongest alchemist on the continent, especially among the Yao Clan, or even the hidden giants in the Alchemist Tower.

Thus, Yao Lao's reputation as the continent's greatest alchemist was more a façade, like being part of a "first-class" force in Central Plains.

Although Central Plains had hundreds of Dou Sheng, the so-called "first-class" powers were mostly established by Dou Zun, aside from the Hall and Tower.

The Eight Ancient Clans rarely intervened, and the Dou Sheng didn't involve themselves in Central Plains affairs, giving Dou Zun room to secure a position.

This hierarchy applied to both fighters and alchemists. Many hidden Yao Clan members and Pill Tower giants rarely appeared, so there were few publicly acknowledged eight-grade advanced alchemists.

As a result, Yao Lao managed to claim the title of "pseudo top alchemist." Yet, even so, Yao Lao's fame and status as the greatest alchemist were legendary on the Dou Qi Continent.

As the top alchemist's disciple, Han Feng had nearly reached the pinnacle of the continent's elite. Yao Lao, still young in the alchemist world, was likely to reach the nine-grade level given his talent.

In the original story, after his revival, Yao Lao did indeed become a nine-grade alchemist, solidifying his position as the continent's true top alchemist—a status even the Yao Clan had to respect.

With a master who was a nine-grade alchemist, Han Feng could have easily reached the eighth grade himself.

Yet, blinded by greed and ambition, Han Feng betrayed his teacher, falling for the schemes of his fellow master's outcast, Mu Gu Elder.

Mo Yu shook his head as he thought this over.

Han Feng, an orphan, had been incredibly lucky to be taken in by Yao Lao and trained into an excellent alchemist.

Had he continued along this path, Han Feng might have inherited Yao Lao's legacy and connections in a few decades, rising as a powerful figure on the continent.

But due to his foolishness, after betraying Yao Lao, Han Feng's future had come to a halt.

As for Mu Gu, as treacherous as he was, he would never nurture a backstabber who had betrayed his own teacher.

In the end, Han Feng had lost everything, not only failing to obtain the full Flame Mantra, but also isolating himself completely.

Fearful of Yao Lao's friends and relatives coming after him, Han Feng could only cower in the Black-Corner Region.

What a fool…

While Mo Yu scorned Han Feng inwardly, the latter merely chuckled, casting his gaze toward the broken Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower.

"Heavenly Flame are rare treasures of heaven and earth. Keeping it sealed here is far too cruel. As an alchemist, flames are almost sacred to us. Therefore, I must request that the Grand Elder release the Heavenly Flame rather than imprisoning it."

"Hmph, what a ridiculous excuse. Do you take us at Jia Nan Academy for three-year-olds?"

Hu Gan sneered at this, gesturing as nearly twenty figures with Dou Qi wings rose into the sky, glaring fiercely at Han Feng's group.

Toward people from the Black-Corner Region, Jia Nan Academy had always looked down with innate pride. Today, even if the legendary Medicine Emperor himself had come, or the entire Black Ranking, Jia Nan Academy would not back down!

"If you want the Heavenly Flame, just say it directly. No need to beat around the bush—it doesn't suit someone of your status, as a disciple of that great one."

Su Qian waved his sleeve, and a flicker of respect flashed in his eyes as he mentioned that great one, showing the importance that person held in his heart.

He then scrutinized the unusual figures behind Han Feng, his eyes narrowing.

"Even the heads of Blood Sect, Earth Flame Sect, and Eight-Gate Sect have answered your call? Impressive, Medicine Emperor."

"These strong allies are just a precaution, not to oppose Jia Nan Academy. If the Grand Elder is willing to hand over the Heavenly Flame, I'll do everything in my power to meet any of your conditions," Han Feng replied with a smile.

Su Qian's lips curled in disdain, dismissing Han Feng's words with a wave of his sleeve. "Han Feng, do you think I don't know who you are?"

"If it were your teacher speaking, I might have to think it over. But you? Go train for a few more decades! Jia Nan Academy hasn't held its position on the Dou Qi Continent this long on mere reputation."

The smile on Han Feng's face faded as his previously warm gaze turned icy. "If the Grand Elder won't comply, then don't blame me for taking it by force."

With his words, a deep blue flame rose from his body, releasing waves of intense heat.

"A Heavenly Flame?!"

The emergence of the deep blue flame brought exclamations from the crowd, for it was clear at a glance that Han Feng wielded a Heavenly Flame.

"Han Feng, I advise you to leave now. I can overlook what's happened, but when the dean returns, none of you will escape!" Su Qian's stern voice echoed as he gazed at the flames around Han Feng.

"Hehe, no need to try scaring me, Grand Elder. Who knows where your dean has gone after all these years?"

Han Feng's eyes glowed with a fervent desire as he looked at the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower. "Besides, once I obtain this Heavenly Flame, who knows who'll be in trouble when he returns?"

Hearing this, Mo Yu looked at Han Feng like he was a complete fool, unable to believe his stupidity.

Truly, Han Feng was the biggest fool on the Dou Qi Continent. Not only had he betrayed his almighty teacher for mere fragments of the Flame Mantra, but he now dreamed of challenging the dean of Jia Nan Academy?

It's important to note that the Headmaster of Jia Nan Academy is Mang Tianchi, a figure with a powerful and mysterious background. Not only is he an elder of the ancient Lei Clan, one of the eight ancient clans, but he is also a formidable Half-Saint!

A Half-Saint, even in the central plains, would render those so-called first-rate powers insignificant. Han Feng, even if you were granted the Fallen Heart Flame and two more heavenly flames, would be utterly powerless before a Half-Saint, who could crush you with a single slap.

Mo Yu couldn't help but wonder if Han Feng was truly missing a few screws. One foolish move after another—if Xiao Yan hadn't stepped in to purge this traitor in the original timeline, Han Feng would have likely met his end by his own folly.

Shaking his head, Mo Yu thought of his own plans and smirked. Though foolish, Han Feng's arrival was well-timed, setting the stage for a showdown with Jia Nan Academy and creating the ensuing chaos in Black-Corner Region.

This chaos, however, would play directly into Mo Yu's hands, giving him the perfect opportunity to consolidate Black-Corner Region under his control.

As long as he could secure Jia Nan Academy's support to lead Yuan Manor in annihilating Han Feng and his Black Alliance, Black-Corner Region would essentially fall into his grasp...

Suddenly, Han Feng sneezed, feeling a chill run down his spine, as though someone were watching him closely. He frowned, dismissing the irrational thought. Unaware he was being called an idiot, Han Feng arrogantly turned to Su Qian with a smug threat.

"So, since your headmaster isn't here, I advise you, Grand Elder, to hand over the heavenly flame. You know very well the sort of people we have in Black-Corner Region. If a fight breaks out, the Inner Academy will likely be reduced to rubble."

Taking a deep breath, Su Qian's face turned ashen. His hands slowly extended from his sleeves, and with a faint clench, the space around him began to tremble violently. "It's been years since I last fought. Today, I'll see if you're truly worthy of your words!"

"All elders, defend the heavenly flame with your lives!" Su Qian's thunderous command reverberated across the sky.

"Defend the heavenly flame with our lives!"

All the academy's experts shouted in unison, and a surge of power erupted into the heavens.

"Stubborn fool. Dou Zong level is indeed formidable, but it's not invincible. Black-Corner Region has those who can match your strength!"

Feeling the overwhelming pressure emanating from Su Qian, Han Feng, though foolish, wasn't without a mind for caution. Confronting a Dou Zong-level opponent, he had prepared countermeasures.

He took a step back, chuckling coldly before calling out, "Elder Jin and Elder Yin, please reveal yourselves!"

"Haha, Han Feng, do you realize the price of hiring us? I hope you're prepared to pay it; otherwise..."

Following Han Feng's call, two voices laughed from the sky. In the next moment, spatial fluctuations spread, and two figures, clad in gold and silver, appeared ghost-like in the air.

As Su Qian and the others looked at the newcomers, their expressions changed drastically. Cold words slipped out from between clenched teeth.

"It's you two!"

In the sky, the two figures appeared with an eerie stillness, one wearing a gold robe and the other a silver one.

Their faces were almost identical, both sporting white hair and beards, and their features were so similar it was as though they'd been carved from the same mold.

"So, it's the Gold-Silver Elders. Together, their combined strength rivals that of a Dou Zong-level Black List expert. Han Feng isn't completely stupid—he's brought capable allies. Unfortunately, these Black-Corner Region experts have shallow vision. They're courting death by defying Jia Nan Academy for Han Feng's petty gains." Mo Yu murmured to himself from below, arching an eyebrow.

"Are you two planning to get involved as well?" Su Qian's voice was icy as he spoke.

"We're here under a commission; it's a mutual need. Nothing personal." The elder in gold smiled faintly at Su Qian.

"Old Su, I suggest you hand over the heavenly flame to Han Feng. If your headmaster were here, we wouldn't have accepted this job. But, unfortunately, that old man has been silent for years—who knows if he's even alive?"

The silver-robed elder sneered, his tone cutting. His voice matched the elder in gold, down to the cadence.

"Hmph, keep dreaming!" Su Qian retorted coldly.

"In that case, your Inner Academy seems a bit underpowered."

The elder in gold chuckled. Although Han Feng's group was smaller in number, their strength far exceeded that of the academy's elders. After all, the experts of Black-Corner Region were tempered through life-and-death battles, with the weak long buried.

In a real fight, the Black List experts were capable of fighting one against two, or even three.

Su Qian's face grew colder, but he had no interest in further talk. His hands rotated slightly, and the abundant Dou Qi surged within his palms, causing tremors in the surrounding space.

"Grand Elder Su Qian, this is my final warning: will you hand over the heavenly flame, or not?" Han Feng asked impatiently, his expression dark.

Su Qian remained expressionless, merely flicking his sleeve, and a powerful surge of Dou Qi shot forth from his sleeve, heading directly toward Han Feng!

The battle was about to erupt!
