The arrival of Yun Shan turned the tide of battle completely, leaving little hope for Xiao Yan and his allies.

While the Jia Ma Empire wasn't without Dou Zong (Battle Sect) experts, many were affiliated with the enigmatic Tian Ji Tower. This organization commanded unparalleled respect throughout the empire. From the royal family to the three major clans and even other prominent experts, all treated Tian Ji Tower with reverence, knowing it was not to be provoked. Even a mere junior clerk from the Tower could command significant influence within the empire, with tales of mid tier families marrying off their prized daughters to these low ranking Tower members circulating widely.

For most present, witnessing a Dou Zong expert like Yun Shan in action was a once in a lifetime event.

Yun Shan Demonstrates His Power

Yun Shan's casual suppression of Hai Bodong, a Dou Huang (Battle Emperor), sent shockwaves through the crowd. Even though Hai Bodong could previously hold his own against higher ranked Dou Huangs like Jia Xing Tian, Yun Shan effortlessly crushed his resistance.

With a smug expression, Yun Shan surveyed the crowd, declaring:

"I had hoped for a worthy challenge to stretch my muscles, but alas, it seems I've overestimated you all."

Xiao Cai Transforms

Suddenly, a defiant roar echoed from the battered Xiao Cai, who lay bleeding on the ground. Summoning an immense force, Xiao Cai broke free from Yun Shan's oppressive aura and lunged at him once more.

Yun Shan's eyes lit up with mild surprise.

"Oh? How intriguing. This beast managed to break my suppression. Impressive!"

Xiao Cai's fangs snapped down on Yun Shan but bit nothing. Yun Shan's figure shimmered and disappeared like a mirage.

From the viewing stands, Jia Xing Tian exclaimed in shock:

"A mirage! Such speed!"

High above, Yun Shan reappeared, hovering over Xiao Cai. With a simple downward kick, he sent the beast plummeting like a meteor into the ground below.

"Boom!"

The stone floor shattered under Xiao Cai's massive form, raising a thick cloud of dust.

Xiao Yan's Despair

"Xiao Cai!"

Xiao Yan's heart sank at the sight of his companion lying on the ground, gravely injured and barely breathing. Rage filled his chest, and his vision turned crimson with fury.

Turning to Yao Chen, he pleaded:

"Teacher! Take over my body. I don't care what happens to me can you kill that old bastard Yun Shan?"

Yao Chen sighed, sensing the desperation and killing intent consuming Xiao Yan. He replied gravely:

"Even with my full strength, your body wouldn't withstand the strain. However... there may be another way. If you use the large scale Buddha's Fury Flame Lotus, you might injure or even kill him."

Hearing this, Xiao Yan hesitated only briefly before steeling his resolve. "I'll do it!"

But before they could act, Yao Chen suddenly stopped.

"Wait!"

Medusa Appears

To everyone's astonishment, Xiao Cai's massive body began to glow and dissolve, transforming into the stunning figure of a woman.

Her beauty was otherworldly strikingly enchanting, with a cold, imperious air.

With an icy smile, she taunted Yun Shan:

"Well, Yun Shan... had your fun?"

Gasps erupted from the crowd.

"That's... that's Medusa! The Queen of the Snake People!"

Medusa's name was infamous throughout the Jia Ma Empire. The Snake Person Queen was a figure of terror and legend. Years ago, the empire had suffered catastrophic losses battling the Snake People. Medusa's ruthlessness had become synonymous with dread, her very name enough to send shivers down the spines of even the strongest warriors.

For Hai Bodong, seeing Medusa again was particularly chilling. It was she who had sealed his powers all those years ago, reducing him from a once mighty Dou Huang to a shadow of his former self.

Yun Shan vs. Medusa

Even Yun Shan, now a Dou Zong, was taken aback by her sudden appearance. But his composure quickly returned. Though Medusa had ascended to Dou Zong status, Yun Shan, as a Three Star Dou Zong, held the advantage in experience and power.

"It's been a long time, Medusa," Yun Shan said, a flicker of admiration in his eyes.

Medusa, however, met his gaze with icy disdain.

"Address me as 'Her Majesty, the Queen.' And I do not appreciate anyone standing above me," she replied coldly.

Yun Shan chuckled, descending from his position in the air. Stopping ten meters from her, his expression softened as he spoke:

"You haven't changed a bit. Still as stunning as ever."

Years ago, during battles between the Snake People and the empire, Yun Shan had been struck by Medusa's beauty. Now, having become a Dou Zong, he harbored ambitions of taking her for himself.

Medusa, however, was unmoved by his flattery. Her gaze hardened as she repeated her question:

"Yun Shan, I'll ask again did you enjoy yourself?"

Yun Shan's smile faltered slightly. He replied in a measured tone:

"Why such hostility, Medusa? You should know my intentions are genuine."

"Intentions?" Medusa sneered, her disdain palpable.

Tensions Escalate

As the confrontation unfolded, Xiao Yan was still reeling from the revelation that Xiao Cai had been Medusa in disguise.

"Teacher... why is Medusa here?" Xiao Yan asked Yao Chen, his voice filled with disbelief.

Yao Chen sighed. "It seems Xiao Cai has relinquished control to Medusa. Likely because she thought this was the only way to protect you."

Xiao Yan's mind raced. While Medusa's presence offered hope, her temperamental nature made her an unpredictable ally.

Yun Shan's Ambitions

Yun Shan, still captivated by Medusa, attempted to sway her:

"Medusa, there's no need for hostility. You and I, as Dou Zong experts, could rule this empire together."

But Medusa's response was swift and cutting:

"Rule together? Yun Shan, don't insult me. If you truly valued my cooperation, you wouldn't have dared strike down my subordinate moments ago."

Her words were laced with contempt, and her killing intent was palpable.

The tension in the air grew thicker. Yun Shan's expression darkened, his earlier affability replaced by a steely resolve.

"Very well," he said. "If you insist on defying me, I'll have no choice but to subdue you."

A New Hope

As Yun Shan prepared to strike, a powerful presence rippled through the air. From the distance, multiple figures approached, their auras signaling the arrival of reinforcements.

"Who else could it be now?" Yun Shan muttered, frowning.

One of the figures stepped forward, their voice calm yet commanding:

"It seems we've arrived just in time. How lively this gathering has become."

Medusa's eyes flickered with recognition, while Yun Shan's expression grew grim.

The battle was far from over.

Jia Ma Empire, Yun Lan Sect

Medusa scoffed dismissively, raising her hand to release both Xiao Yan and Hai Bodong from Yun Shan's oppressive restraint.

Turning toward Xiao Yan, who looked overjoyed, she coldly remarked:

"If not for that little one begging me to save you, do you think I'd let you live after you dared keep me as a pet? You'd have been ripped to shreds long ago."

Xiao Yan immediately broke into a cold sweat. He had long known how terrifying Medusa could be.

"If I'd known that Xiao Cai was Medusa from the start, I wouldn't have dared bring her along!" Xiao Yan thought to himself. "Thank heavens she didn't break free back when Master was in deep sleep; otherwise, I'd already be dead."

With a nervous smile, he quickly bowed to Medusa and said,

"Thank you, Your Majesty, for your mercy! But how about we focus on dealing with Yun Shan first?"

Medusa shot him an annoyed glare before turning her gaze toward Yun Shan.

"He's under my protection," she declared icily. "Yun Shan, do you have a problem with that?"

Yun Shan's Calculations

Yun Shan locked eyes with Xiao Yan, then shifted his focus back to Medusa. His tone was sharp:

"You should know that as a one star Dou Zong, you're no match for me. Even if you could stall me with Hai Bodong's help, you'd never escape the Yun Lan Sect alive."

With a wave of his hand, Yun Shan signaled to Yun Leng, who immediately began preparing to activate the sect's Smoky Cloud Shrouding Sun Array once more.

However, before the array could form, a sudden wave of black smoke surged toward the battlefield, accompanied by two sharp attacks aimed directly at Yun Shan.

"Boom! Boom!"

Yun Shan easily deflected the strikes and barked,

"Who's there?"

Ling Ying Enters the Fray

A figure stepped forward from the shadows, laughing coldly:

"The mighty Yun Lan Sect, stooping to bully a mere four star Dou Shi? What a disgrace! Yun Po Tian must be rolling in his grave to see his descendants behave so shamelessly."

The man came to stand beside Xiao Yan, his aura revealing him to be a Dou Huang expert.

From the viewing stands, Jia Xing Tian and others were utterly stunned.

"Another Dou Huang?! Just who is this Xiao Yan?"

Reinforcements and Tensions Rise

Xiao Yan, too, was surprised. Though he didn't know Ling Ying's identity, he recognized the man as someone he had encountered before.

"Thank you for coming to my aid, Senior," Xiao Yan said, bowing respectfully.

Ling Ying replied curtly,

"No need for thanks. If not for my young mistress ordering me to protect you, I wouldn't have bothered."

This mysterious reinforcement was acting on orders from Xiao Xun'er, who had sent him to shadow and protect Xiao Yan in secret. Ling Ying's presence, however, raised Yun Shan's wariness.

Yun Shan narrowed his eyes, studying Ling Ying.

"Who are you, and what faction do you represent?"

Ling Ying smirked dismissively. "You're not qualified to know. Don't flatter yourself becoming a Dou Zong is merely the beginning. The Dou Qi Continent is vast, Yun Shan, and you're nothing more than a small fish in a very large ocean."

Yun Shan's face darkened, fury burning in his chest. Despite his anger, he didn't act rashly. Ling Ying's confidence suggested he hailed from a powerful force, one Yun Shan couldn't afford to provoke recklessly.

The Arrival of the Heavenly Envoys

Just as tensions reached their peak, the space above the Yun Lan Sect began to ripple. Moments later, two figures emerged from a spatial tear Xiao He and Wang Chao, representatives of the Tian Ji Tower branch in the Jia Ma Empire.

Xiao He laughed heartily as he descended, his voice booming across the battlefield:

"Well, well, Yun Lan Sect is bustling today. Two Dou Zongs in one place what a rare sight!"

His tone exuded unshakable confidence, a reflection of his formidable strength.

The onlookers, led by Jia Xing Tian, immediately stood to salute the newcomers.

"Greetings to Lord Xiao He and Lord Wang Chao!"

Even Xiao Yan and Hai Bodong, who had encountered them before, quickly followed suit, bowing respectfully.

Xiao He waved them off casually. "At ease. We're just here to enjoy the show. Don't mind us carry on."

Yun Shan's Dilemma

Yun Shan's frustration reached its limit. Though he had no qualms about facing Medusa and Ling Ying, the arrival of the Tian Ji Tower representatives complicated matters.

The Yun Lan Sect had always harbored resentment toward the Tower's growing influence within the Jia Ma Empire. Yun Shan himself viewed the Tower as a hindrance to his ambitions of unifying the empire under the Yun Lan Sect's banner.

With Xiao He and Wang Chao now present, Yun Shan's plans were thoroughly derailed.

Suppressing his irritation, he bowed respectfully toward the newcomers.

"Greetings, Lord Xiao He and Lord Wang Chao."

Wang Chao glanced at Yun Shan with a faint smile before offering a cutting remark:

"So you've become a Dou Zong. A pity your method of advancement wasn't exactly... orthodox."

Shocking Observations and Medusa's Inquiry

The crowd collectively gasped at Wang Chao's remark, their shock palpable.

Yun Shan's fists clenched tightly, but before he could retort, Medusa's gaze shifted toward Xiao He and Wang Chao. She spoke coldly:

"You two must be the so called elites of the Tian Ji Tower's Jia Ma branch. I hope you don't intend to interfere here."

Xiao Yan, sensing Medusa's rising hostility, quickly stepped forward to intervene. "Your Majesty, please, don't act rashly!"

Xiao He, unfazed by Medusa's tone, studied her intently before smirking.

"Interesting... your soul isn't complete. It seems your path to Dou Zong wasn't without its flaws."
