After entering the scorching and oppressive world of magma, even the smile on Kongxi's face faded a bit.

A mass of earth-yellow flames erupted from Kongxi's body, transforming into a protective flame shield that enveloped him.

Because Kongxi was one of Xiao Feng's emotion avatars, it inherited part of Xiao Feng's strength.

If Xiao Feng rashly barged into the magma sea, he might run into the Fire Lizardmen before even finding the Fallen Heart Flame.

So, after awakening his spiritual perception, Xiao Feng scanned the magma sea with his spiritual power, which allowed Kongxi to search for the Fallen Heart Flame.

There, a faint transparent barrier could be seen, inside of which lay a skeleton, and a transparent, invisible flame floated above it.

Seeing this, Kongxi immediately charged toward the transparent barrier, but it was as if he hit a layer of impenetrable bulletproof glass and was bounced back.

The transparent barrier before him was a spatial seal left by the Tian Huo Venerable before his fall, blocking the perception of the Fire Lizardmen outside.

In the original story, Xiao Yan was able to easily pass through this spatial seal because he had already refined the Fallen Heart Flame.

The Tian Huo Venerable sensed the Fallen Heart Flame on Xiao Yan and allowed him to enter the space.

However, Kongxi had no Fallen Heart Flame on him and, with his half-human, half-bird appearance, the Tian Huo Venerable mistook him for a shapeshifting magical beast and naturally wouldn't allow him to enter the space.

"Tian Huo Venerable, I've come to save you. I possess the ability to foresee the future and can randomly glimpse fragments of future events," Kongxi explained quickly after being blocked by the barrier. "In the future I've foreseen, we will be friends, which is why I sent this avatar to save you. My true body is human, not a magical beast."

[Foreseeing the future? Avatar? Is what this guy saying true or false?

Forget it! My soul power is almost exhausted. If I don't leave with this guy, my soul body will collapse in a few years anyway. I might as well take a gamble!]

The soul body of the Tian Huo Venerable, hidden within the skeleton, hesitated for a moment before emerging and opening the spatial barrier.

Kongxi immediately transformed into a shadow and flew to the Tian Huo Venerable's side.

"Tian Huo Venerable, this is a Soul Nourishing Ring that my true body specially crafted for you. It has the ability to nurture your soul body and allow you to temporarily reside within it," Kongxi said directly, taking out a black ring from his robes. "My true body also said that when suitable materials are found in the future, he will help you forge a new body and assist in your revival."

"Thank you. I'll give you this Fallen Heart Flame in its infant stage as a token of gratitude," the Tian Huo Venerable said, convinced by Kongxi's explanation of Xiao Feng's ability to foresee the future. He waved his hand, sending the Fallen Heart Flame toward Kongxi.

"We should leave quickly. This place is no longer safe," Kongxi replied, accepting the Fallen Heart Flame and allowing the Tian Huo Venerable to enter the Soul Nourishing Ring before swiftly exiting the magma world.

After more than half an hour of travel, Kongxi returned to the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower.

"Roar!!!"

Sensing the presence of the Tian Huo Venerable, the sealed Fallen Heart Flame at the base of the tower suddenly opened its eyes and let out an excited roar, charging toward Kongxi.

"Bang, bang, bang..."

However, before it could touch Kongxi, it was stopped by the spatial barrier that sealed it, angrily slamming into the barrier.

Seeing the invisible flame python that the Fallen Heart Flame had transformed into, the Tian Huo Venerable emerged from the Soul Nourishing Ring and smiled as he soothed, "I didn't expect you to still remember me, little one. Don't worry, I'll release you right away."

The Tian Huo Venerable was the previous master of the Fallen Heart Flame, and before his fall, the Fallen Heart Flame had already gained sentience.

Because of this sentience, the Tian Huo Venerable couldn't bear to let it die alongside him in the desolate magma world, so he freed it before his death.

But what the Tian Huo Venerable didn't expect was that shortly after the Fallen Heart Flame escaped the magma world, it was captured by Mang Tian Chi and sealed beneath the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower, turning it into a tool for others to cultivate.

The Tian Huo Venerable had been a five-star Dou Venerate in life, and though only his soul body remained, he could still unleash power comparable to an eight-star Dou Ancestor.

Though he couldn't break Mang Tian Chi's spatial barrier outright, with his mastery of spatial forces, tearing a small gap in it was easy.

"Stop!"

Sensing the commotion caused by the Fallen Heart Flame, the Inner Academy elders rushed out of their cultivation chambers, only to see the Tian Huo Venerable forcibly tearing the spatial barrier apart.
