Brothel Manager : Unexpected Encounter with A Hidden Family Heirloom
Chapter 511: Rather than insects and snakes, I believe in Humans!
Amara's mind faltered as the weight of controlling the White Snake Spirit pressed down on her mind like a relentless storm.
Sweat poured down her face, and her hands trembled as the white serpent reeled under the scorpion's onslaught. The Farus soldiers on the ground fought valiantly, but their lines were visibly thinning.
The scorpion's attacks were not only weakening the white snake spirit but also shattering the Farus family morale.
Das, standing apart from the melee, watched the chaos unfold with an unreadable expression. He glanced at the blood-red sword strapped to his back.
"Well, this looks like fun. Time to play the hero role." he muttered, unsheathing the cursed blade. Its crimson hue glinted menacingly in the fading sunlight.
As the Scorpion Spirit lunged toward the White Snake, its pincers aiming for a deadly strike, Das dashed forward with startling speed. Suddenly, appeared beside the fighting spirits.
With a powerful swing of his sword, he struck the scorpion's massive claw. Though the blow didn't harm the spectral creature, it diverted its attention.
"What?!"
The battlefield seemed to hold its collective breath. Soldiers from both sides stopped mid-swing to gape at the sight of a lone human taking on a weapon spirit.
"What is he doing?!" one of the Farus soldiers exclaimed.
"Has he lost his mind?" a Taurus patriarch muttered, his voice trembling.
From his vantage point, General Harries of the Indian Army lowered his binoculars with a wide open mouth.
"This man… he's either insane or lucky," Harries muttered, a flicker of admiration in his voice.
"But why throw himself into such a battle for the Farus family?" The doubt rose in his mind.
Das grinned as he sidestepped another attack from the Scorpion Spirit, his movements fluid and almost playful. He used white snake spirit to hide himself from scorpion blows and played hide and seek with it.
"You're a big one, aren't you?" he moved, darting around the scorpion and slashing at its tail. "Let's see how you handle this!"
His agility and confidence stunned both armies. Maya, still controlling the Scorpion Spirit, narrowed her eyes in irritation.
"This pest," she hissed. "Who does he think he is?"
Her irritation turned to anger as Das's antics disrupted her concentration. The scorpion's attacks became less precise, and the White Snake began to recover. Amara, feeling the pressure lift slightly, gasped in relief and clenched fists in determination.
"Das… what are you doing?" she whispered, her voice barely audible but filled with gratitude.
The battlefield was now a spectacle. Soldiers from both sides stopped fighting for a second, their eyes glued to the bizarre scene of one man holding his own against a spirit.
Patriarch Ryon Taurus's face contorted with rage as he watched Das disrupt their advantage.
"Kill him!" he roared. "I don't care how—take him down!"
Archers scrambled to nock arrows and aimed at Das, but his erratic movements made him a difficult target. He weaved between strikes, his blade dancing in the air as he kept the scorpion at bay.
On the Farus side, Patriarch Long, still recovering from his collapse, managed a weak laugh.
"That boy is crazier than I thought," he rasped. "But… he's buying us time."
Amara, emboldened by Das's intervention, summoned every ounce of strength she had left. The White Snake Spirit coiled,n protecting Das occasionally, its body gleaming brighter than ever as it prepared for a counterattack.
"Hold On!" she whispered to the snake spirit. "Wait for the right moment."
Maya, on the other hand, was seething in fury. Her hands trembled, and her eyes blazed with fury as she directed the Scorpion Spirit toward Das.
"You think you can mock me, little man?" she sneered. "You'll regret this!"
Das smirked. "Mock you? Sorry, I'm just keeping things interesting."
His taunt drove her over the edge. Maya unleashed a surge of energy, causing the scorpion to grow in size and ferocity. Its claws slammed into the ground, creating shockwaves that sent soldiers from both sides sprawling.
The White Snake Spirit seized the opportunity. With a deafening hiss, it struck, coiling around the scorpion and squeezing with all its might. Maya gasped as the mental strain hit her like a tidal wave.
"You've got this!, Amara!" Her sister, Lily, shouted, her voice filled with hope.
"Just a little longer," she murmured.
Das, seeing the tide turn, decided to step back.
"Looks like my job is perfectly done. Now it's time to take the hit." Das muttered as he prepared to receive some hits to cause guilt to Amara.
As the sun prepared to dip below the horizon, painting the battlefield in hues of red and orange, Maya realized her control was slipping. Her face twisted in desperation as she gathered her only and most powerful sorcery spell act.
"I won't let you win!" she screamed, her voice echoing across the battlefield.
The scorpion lashed out wildly, breaking free from the snake's grasp and prepared to unleash a poison attack of sorcery. Das noticed the danger immediately.
"Watch out!" he yelled, but it was too late.
Maya, in a final act of fury, directed a burst of dark energy with the help of scorpion spirit. Das evaded narrowly with little wounds as he wanted.
But the attack struck Amara squarely, and she crumpled to the ground, blood trickling from her lips.
"No!" shouted patriarch Long, struggling to rise.
Farus' family soldiers, fueled by anger, lunged at the enemy, but Maya deflected their attack with a wave of scorpion.
"You can't do anything now," she sneered. "This war belongs to the Taurus family."
Before Taurs family could press her advantage, a loud, blaring siren pierced the air. The war horns sounded, signaling the end of the day's battle.
Maya scoffed and released her hold on the scorpion.
"You're lucky," she shouted, glaring at Das and the unconscious Amara. "Tomorrow, there will be no mercy."
The Taurus soldiers erupted in cheers, their victory cries echoing as they retreated. On the Farus side, the mood was somber. Medics rushed to tend to Amara while Das knelt beside her, his face uncharacteristically serious.
"Rest now. Leave everything to me." He said softly.
The sun finally disappeared, leaving the battlefield shrouded in darkness. General Harries and survillance soldiers watched the scene for a long time.
"General, I think Taurus family would win tomorrow. We all can go home." One of the burly soldier said with little joy.
"Hmmhh… the war will end soon. But I can't say which side will lose." Harries said while staring at the back of a leaving young man with red sword.
"What do you mean, General? The Farus family white snake spirit took sevear damage. The victory is decided, right?" The burley soldiers asked in confusion.
"Rather than snakes and insects, I belive more in humans." Harries said in a serious tone and left inside monitoring room to watch some previous clippings.
The burley soldier scratched his head in confusion.
