Chapter 48: Selling the Treasure!
Green Jade City...
Opposite the Khan family auction grounds, Mo Han, Fatty Lambu, and Jia Kai sat on a stone bench with depressed faces.
They had taken all kinds of risks to reach this destination on time—but like a cruel joke, the auction was postponed. Even the mountain eagle resting beside them had a dejected expression.
"Brother Han, why do we need to wait for the auction to take place? You came here to find your body constitution. I think they'll still do that, even if you pay the price now," Fatty suggested while staring at the banner across from them, which displayed the name of the Khan family.
After hearing Fatty's words, even Jia Kai felt it made sense. They came all this way just to learn about Mo Han's body constitution. Why should they wait until the auction began?
They weren't going to buy anything. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't afford a single item.
"Mo Han, what's the problem? Let's go. Why are we wasting time here? You'll find out your body constitution and return to the sect right away," Jia Kai urged, staring at Mo Han's face.
On the other hand, Mo Han was seriously looking at the entrance gate of the auction house, which read: 'Khan Family Biannual Auction.'
After taking a deep breath, Mo Han finally opened his mouth and said, "We can do as you said. But the problem is—I don't have the wealth with me right now."
"What?!" Both Fatty Lambu and Jia Kai exclaimed at the same time.
"What do you mean you don't have the wealth? Then how are you going to find your body constitution?" Fatty asked with a confused look.
"Yeah… The Khan family isn't running a charity. They'll definitely ask for a hefty sum to examine your body constitution," Jia Kai added.
Mo Han shifted his focus from the auction site to Jia Kai. "Just relax. I have a valuable treasure, which I'll sell to get the required wealth. So, Fatty and I will go to the auction house and sell it. Until then, you wait here. Don't worry—we'll be back as soon as possible," Mo Han explained in detail.
After hearing his explanation, both Fatty and Jia Kai felt relieved. At least now they had a clear idea of how they were going to gather the large number of spirit stones needed for their task.
"Fatty, let's go. I'll use the identity of the Han family's young master. You'll act as my servant. Don't forget to act smug—they must treat us like esteemed guests. Otherwise, they'll definitely offer a lower price," Mo Han instructed as he stood up and began wearing a silk cloth over half of his face.
"Yes, Master Han. This loyal servant is at your service," Fatty Lambu replied excitedly, fully ready to play the role.
Mo Han smiled and patted Fatty on the shoulder.
"Wait!"
Suddenly, Jia Kai stepped in front of Mo Han, stopping his advance.
"What?" Mo Han asked with a questioning look. This chapter's true source is My Virtual Library Empire (M|V|LEMP-YR).
"I will also come with you," Jia Kai announced with a determined face.
Mo Han thought for a second and said, "If you really want to come, you might need to act as a servant to me. Is that okay with you?"
Jia Kai fell into thought after hearing Mo Han's condition.
She was quite reluctant to act as his servant. But curiosity pulled her into the drama.
"It's okay. I'll be your servant until the task is done. But don't take advantage of me," Jia Kai replied.
Mo Han simply smiled with a mean look after hearing her decision.
"My loyal servants… follow your master," Mo Han said dramatically as he walked forward.
Fatty Lambu and the mountain eagle followed with serious faces.
With a look of distaste, Jia Kai also followed. But before that, she covered her face with a silk mask.

At the entrance gate of the Khan family auction house...
There was still a crowd gathered near the gates.
But Fatty, playing the role of a loyal servant, pushed through the crowd to clear a path for Mo Han, who walked like a wealthy young master from a prestigious family.
All eyes turned toward Mo Han, wondering about his identity.
Two servant girls stepped forward and stopped Mo Han near the gate.
"Sorry, esteemed guest. The auction has been postponed until tomorrow. Please return later," one of the servant girls said politely.
"You little servant girl! My young master, the heir of the Han family, came here to sell a precious treasure. Do you dare reject him?" Fatty declared loudly with a smug attitude.
All eyes in the crowd turned toward Mo Han with intense curiosity after Fatty's outburst.
"The Han family?"
"Is he really from the Han family?"
"What's he doing here? The Han family is located almost a country away!"
Murmurs and whispers quickly spread as people discussed Mo Han's identity.
Mo Han sighed heavily in disappointment. He had never expected Fatty to announce the Han family name so loudly in public.
"Sorry for my behavior. Young Master Han, please follow me," one of the servant girls quickly bowed and spoke in a more respectful tone.
"That's more like it," Fatty replied in the same smug voice.
Even Jia Kai felt frustrated with Fatty's behavior, but she kept silent in public.
As the servant girl led the way, the trio followed behind.
They walked silently into the auction house.
Fatty stared wide-eyed at the massive temporary structure set up by the Khan family. Even Jia Kai was surprised by the fancy wooden building adorned with decorative trinkets.
But Mo Han didn't feel particularly impressed.
He had seen many high-rise buildings in the modern day. Still, he was curious about the small beautification treasures lining the path.
Soon, they entered deeper inside and stopped before an old man. The old man was diligently writing a large list of guests with an ink brush. The table he is working on also seems aged like him.
"Elder Bo, a young master from the Han family has come to sell a precious treasure," the servant girl respectfully announced to the old man.
