Chapter 45: Beast Essence Potion!
Late evening…
Burning Sun Peak Administration Hall…
Jia Kai placed all of her savings — almost 200 spirit stones — on the desk of the Administration Shop. She had actually been saving all those spirit stones to buy a good weapon after stepping onto the Main Peak. But now, just to help Mo Han, she was sacrificing all of her savings.
It was common for disciples to visit the Administration Shop to buy cheap items like talismans, yantra threads, and healing potions. But it was very rare — even for the Administration Lady — to see someone exchanging so many spirit stones for just one beast essence spell.
"Are you sure you want to exchange these many spirit stones for a beast life essence spell?" the Administration Shop Lady asked for confirmation.
Jia Kai stared at the large pile of spirit stones for one last time. She could actually buy this potion for half the amount in the outside market — but she didn't have much time, as Mo Han had decided to start the journey early in the morning.
With a reluctant nod, she finally agreed to the exchange.
With a gleeful smile, the Administration Shop Lady directly poured all the spirit stones into the wooden barrel.
Then, smiling, she opened the wall doors and picked out a purple-coloured spell bottle.
Jia Kai carefully received the potion bottle and left the Administration Hall Shop with a smiling face.
Even she didn't understand why she was smiling, even after making such a big loss in the transaction.
['Helping the people we care about… really brings great joy, even at our own loss.']
With the remaining 33 spirit stones in her hand, Jia Kai spent another 20 to gather dry food and supplements for their journey.
After thinking about what they might face on the road, she purchased all the necessary items — and one emergency protection talisman.
She saved the remaining 13 spirit stones for emergencies. Always read at the source—MV@LEMP@YR.
After making sure everything was set, she passed her identity token at the Administration Hall elder and took permission to leave the sect grounds for 13 days along with her servants.
She took the permission letter from the Administration Elder and returned to the Inner Court.
By the time she returned, it was already nighttime. Fatty Lambu's snore could be heard echoing through the courtyard.
Mo Han was still sitting near the Aura Tree, reading the fourth form of the Sun Piercing Sword Art — The Fiery Halloween of a King!
"Mo Han, we have a long journey tomorrow. Why don't you sleep early?" Jia Kai asked, coming to a stop near him.
Mo Han lifted his head from the manual and stared at Jia Kai.
"Forget about me. We'll have plenty of time to sleep tomorrow on the eagle's back. What took you so long?" Mo Han asked with a questioning look.
Instead of answering, Jia Kai took out the purple-coloured potion bottle and passed it to Mo Han.
Mo Han received the bottle and observed it curiously. "Is this what you were talking about?" he asked, without moving his eyes from the bottle.
"Yes, this is the Beast Essence Spell," she replied with an excited smile.
Mo Han lifted his head and stared at her smiling face for a moment. Strangely, he felt a déjà vu — suddenly remembering Lady Amara's face. She had worn the same excited smile when he saved her from the Taurus Family army.
Jia Kai turned her face away, a bit embarrassed, wearing a shy smile.
"Sorry," Mo Han said in a dry voice, pulling himself out of the past memory.
"Ahu… ahhhu…" Jia Kai coughed lightly to break the moment. "By the way… I brought everything we'll need for our journey. You don't have to worry about our survival," she said, shifting the topic.
Mo Han exchanged a smile and said, "Thank you for your help, Lady Jia Kai. I will definitely remember this favour and repay you."
"You don't need to thank me, Mo Han," Jia Kai replied. "You know why I'm doing this. It's all for my sister, Chi Kai. I hope you fulfil your promise when the time comes," she said with a meaningful look.
"Alright, alright… I'll do what I can. Once again, thanks for your help. Be ready before sunrise. Our journey will be safe," Mo Han said as he turned his focus back to the sword manual.
Jia Kai shook her head helplessly and walked back toward her stone house. On the way, she tossed a meat stick to the mountain eagle, which happily began munching.
"Does this fellow have a secret identity?" Jia Kai murmured while closing her room door. Her gaze slowly left the sight of Mo Han as the door finally shut.
Trusting Mo Han to gather wealth, Jia Kai undressed and stepped into the big barrel to take a bath.
Her snow-white body glowed like a pearl in the dimly lit room.
She felt proud after staring at her chest and smiled to herself.
While thinking about their journey tomorrow, she leaned back into the barrel and drifted into thoughts of the future.
For a second, an image of Mo Han standing with the Crimson Sword against Jong flashed in her mind.
She immediately shook her head.
"He is meant for my sister. I shouldn't think about him… Ahhhmmm…"
Jia Kai quickly dipped herself under the water to drive away the haunting thoughts.

Main Peak…
Late Night, Near the Training Grounds…
All 13 members of the Main Peak had gathered around a campfire. Their servants stood behind them, serving side-dishes as they drank black wine.
"Jong, we all agree with your proposal. Tomorrow, we must meet the Vice Patriarch and stop that servant from entering the Main Peak," said a thin disciple with a spear at his side.
"Yes, yes… how can we let a servant stand on the same line as us?" shouted a female-disciple named Corey, her face covered in heavy makeup even at night.
Soon, more disciples voiced their support for Jong's plan.
Jong laughed heartily and served them more wine.
Just like that, all the disciples of the Main Peak became a pact — to stop Mo Han from becoming the Main Peak disciple.
