Broly’s Multiversal Foodie Adventure

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Arrival of the Empire's Intelligence Agency

One bird wasn't enough to fill the stomachs of a Saiyan and seventy-three children.

After helping everyone down with vines, Broly removed his Baya beast fur clothing.

Naked, he dove into the nearby river. Compared to the prey in the forest, the creatures in the river seemed dumber.

As soon as he entered the water, several large fish swam toward him, their sharp teeth bared, ready to devour him.

But devouring Broly was impossible. One by one, the fish were sent flying out of the water. Fortunately, Broly had warned the children to watch the river, or they might have been hit by the flying fish.

After sending about a dozen fish flying, Broly decided it was enough. He then chased after a crocodile-like danger beast that had wisely kept its distance, realizing Broly was a dangerous predator.

The crocodile, over ten meters long, was Broly's main meal. As he grew older, his appetite had also increased.

The crocodile struggled, realizing that even in the water, it was no match for the boy. After being dragged onto the riverbank and punched, it quickly played dead.

Or perhaps it was biding its time, conserving energy for a chance to escape this terrifying ape-like creature.

It might have succeeded if not for an unexpected opportunity.

Last night, when Broly cleared the area and blasted the tree, he had caused quite a commotion, which reached Gozuki at the forest's center.

An ordinary person hearing such noise in a forest full of danger beasts wouldn't investigate. But Gozuki was no ordinary man. He was a formidable warrior from the Four Demon Generals of the Yellow Springs Temple. Having waited in vain for the children, he was already in a foul mood. Being woken by the forest's noise only made it worse.

So, this morning, after boarding the flying danger beast, he changed course to investigate the source of last night's disturbance.

"Is this really necessary? It's probably just danger beasts fighting."

Bill didn't quite understand Gozuki's reasoning.

"Middle-aged men don't sleep well. This morning, I found more hair falling out. It must be because I was woken up last night. I need to kill whoever caused this!"

Gozuki cherished his hair. He took great care of it daily, but in recent years, perhaps due to stress, he had been losing more and more.

"There are quite a few flying danger beasts in the Jifunora Sea Tree Forest. Though none are particularly strong, getting entangled with them mid-air would be troublesome."

"I'm just going to take a look. If I can't find the culprit, I won't waste any more time."

"Good."

As he spoke, Bill subconsciously touched his own bald head.

Suddenly, he felt prescient for having gone bald early, knowing the stress of the intelligence agency would lead to hair loss.

It was a sad story.

"Huh? What's that?"

As the smoke from roasting fish and birds rose, Gozuki and the others on the empire's tamed flying beast spotted the smoke in the distance.

Without hesitation, Gozuki ordered the soldier controlling the flying beast to head toward the smoke.

Upon arrival, the first thing Gozuki noticed was the giant tree with its upper section blasted off.

Soon after, near the broken tree, by the river, they saw a group of ragged children roasting fish and birds over a fire.

"Gozuki!"

Bill's mouth twitched as he looked at the man on the other flying beast.

"Yes, those are likely the children we released into the forest."

Gozuki confirmed. How these children had ended up in the northwest part of the forest, far from the central area, was a mystery.

But seeing the fish they were roasting and the piles of danger beast bones nearby, these children's potential might far exceed their expectations.

The children they had procured were mostly under ten, easier to brainwash. But for children under ten to hunt danger beasts, even as a group, was remarkable.

"It seems we misjudged the logistics team. We should commend them later."

Bill said with a smile.

"Let's land first. Children who can survive in the Jifunora Sea Tree Forest might not be easily recruited."

Strength often brought unpredictability. Originally, these helpless children would have had to desperately run through the forest to seek the empire's protection. But if they could survive in this dangerous forest as a group, the empire might no longer be their only option.

"Still, they're just children. A little gentle persuasion should easily win them over."

Under the wary and nervous gazes of the children, Gozuki and Bill, along with their intelligence agency members, dismounted from the flying beasts.

"My dear children, it seems you've lost your way in the forest. As your potential adoptive father, I've come to take you home."

"It's the empire's people!"

"They're the ones who forced us into this dangerous forest!"

None of the children were willing to approach the newcomers.

"Come with us. We'll take you where you belong. There, you'll find delicious food, warm beds, and proper medical care. You'll discover your purpose (become killing machines) and find happiness."

"Stop lying! I heard the slave traders say it was because of you that we were kidnapped."

A bespectacled boy angrily accused.

Encouraged by his boldness, the other children also glared at the newcomers. Though not all had been kidnapped by slave traders, they blamed their misfortune on these empire officials.

"What a hassle. Couldn't the slave traders at least say they were sold by their parents?"

Gozuki rubbed his temples, then suddenly appeared in front of the boy who had sparked the resistance. With a kick, he sent the boy flying like a ball.

"As a bunch of unwanted street urchins, you lack discipline."

"Hey, Gozuki, beating them like this isn't good for selecting elites for specialized training later."

Bill reminded him. If they wanted to discipline these unruly children, they could have their subordinates handle it.

"It's fine. Establishing a strict father figure is necessary anyway. Besides, I can also use this opportunity to identify the elites among these children..."

Before Gozuki could finish his sentence, Broly kicked him in the same manner he had kicked the boy earlier.

The boy had only been sent flying, vomiting on the ground but not dead. Similarly, Gozuki only received a light kick.

But even with Broly holding back, the kick sent Gozuki flying, slamming him into a distant tree trunk.

*Crack~*

His body left a dent in the tree, but his hair, standing on end, cushioned the impact by embedding itself into the bark.

"Yue~"

However, once his hair softened and he fell to the ground, Gozuki began dry heaving, his stomach in excruciating pain, mirroring the boy who had been kicked earlier.

"So that's how it is. Now I understand how you managed to get here and hunt so many danger beasts."

As a former member of the Four Demon Generals, Gozuki's body had been trained to its limits, granting him rapid recovery.

"It's because of you. It's hard to believe a child your age could kick me like that. Even if it was a sneak attack, it's still impressive."

Gozuki wasn't angry about being kicked. Instead, his eyes burned with excitement as he looked at Broly, as if he had discovered a rare treasure.

"Come, be my child."

Gozuki extended his hand, making the offer directly.

"I can make you even stronger, and the empire can give you what you desire."

[Old man, the new era has no ship to carry you!]

Broly shook off the strange thought that popped into his head and replied seriously, "I already have a father. His name is Paragus. He's stronger than you, and I'm stronger than him."

Gozuki wasn't too surprised by the rejection.

"Give me your sword."

He approached one of the intelligence agents and took their longsword before continuing, "Kid, you don't think just because you kicked me once, you can negotiate with me, do you?"

Gozuki didn't use his own sword because it was an imperial weapon, capable of cursing anyone it even grazed.

"Since you won't come willingly, I'll have to use force to take you. Bill, with the empire's medical technology, severed tendons can be reattached, right?"

"Don't worry. With Dr. Stylish's 'Hands of God,' even if you cut off his limbs, as long as they're preserved properly, Dr. Stylish can reattach them perfectly."

"That's good to know. Now I can proceed without worry."

Gozuki's lips curled into a smirk. Wild children who didn't understand rules needed to be taught a lesson.

Gozuki took a stance, crouched low, and gripped the sword. With a swift movement, he charged.

The violent lesson began. He would make sure the child understood the power of an adult.
