Boruto: The Almighty

Chapter 5: The Quincy Prophecy

Random Quincy POV

There is a prophecy foretold by our Quincy ancestors regarding our sealed king. It states that in nine centuries his soul shall piece itself back together, in ninety years he shall regain his sight, in nine years he shall regain all of his strength, and in nine days...he shall reunite this world under one rule.

Since that time we've remained in hiding, bidding our time for the return of our king whilst the elemental nation lived blissfully unaware of us.

Once we were a powerful clan that kept the other clans in check of their power, but our strength made us feared, and our purpose was misunderstood. Those who wielded both spiritual and physical energy saw us as a threat as interlopers who defied their fragile supremacy.

The elemental nations could not comprehend our king's vision a world united, free from the petty squabbles of clans and nations...so they turned against us.

It began with whispers, then alliances, and finally open war. The descendants of Hamura (the accursed Hyūga clan) led the charge their hatred for our king and his followers burnt brighter than the stars. They waged a relentless campaign hunting us to the near brink of extinction nearly erasing us from history.

However, they failed.

They failed to destroy our spirit, our purpose, and our faith in the prophecy. Though our numbers dwindled, the fire of the Quincy remained. We are survivors, warriors who endured for centuries, we have trained in the shadows, refining our techniques, preserving our knowledge, and preparing for the day when our king will return.

The world has grown complacent blinded by their so-called peace. Yet the nations still squabble over land, power, and pride, unaware that the very foundations of their world are crumbling. They have forgotten us and they have forgotten our King.

The signs are clear though the time draws near. The centuries of waiting are almost at an end and our majesty shall return quite soon.

We Quincy have waited long enough the time to rise again is upon us and under his banner we shall reclaim what was lost.

The world will soon learn what they tried to forget

That us Quincy...are eternal.

Zangetsu Tsukishiro POV

Today was when we all started training on our shuriken throwing, I occasionally did a few throws as a show of participation but otherwise kept my distance letting the other students take their shots.

Suddenly a boy in green spandex launched his shuriken all with perfect aim "heh since I secluded myself in the woods and immersed myself into training my shuriken throwing is perfect," he remarked getting ready to toss another shuriken that is until both Inojin and Shikadai whispered behind his back about how good he was.

This for some reason made him freeze up seems like the boy has a case of being nervous when other people are watching him, I thought.

So when he threw the weapon...it missed completely falling limply onto the ground "o-oh my hand kind of slipped there how weird," he said nervously walking over to pick up the weapon.

Suddenly Boruto came running in "out of the way this is what a real shuriken looks like!" he shouted Shikadai's eyes widen "o-oi isn't that dangerous?!" he exclaimed in worry when he saw Boruto jump up with a fuma shuriken.

"Everyone move out of the way now!" I calmly shouted while leaping back from the incoming projectile.

Meanwhile the green spandex boy settled himself into stance "heh such an unsteady weapon is no-" whatever the boy was about to say was cut off by the user of the Nue "Metal!" which unfortunately made him mess up his technique "s-s-severe l-leaf hurricane!" thus instead of kicking the weapon away he got his leg caught in the open ring part of the shuriken sending him spiraling into the practice post.

Everyone rushed over to check up on him "Metal are you alright?" Boruto asked while Aburame-sensei questioned him if this was another one of his pranks.

"Where did you even get the weapon from? We aren't even supposed to have Fuma or Demon Wind Shuriken's yet" Inojin asked making Boruto nervously scratch his head but while they all focused on that I kept my gaze locked onto Sumire.

With the passive use of my Almighty I could see some of the corrupted chakra of the Nue invading and feeding on Metal's negative emotions.

A perfect opportunity to absorb the power later if a mere fraction of its power is capable of sending its victim into a haze of rage, then imagine what it can do with its full power going all out.

It would be a useful power to have under my control I thought "you are all coming to my office," came the voice of Aburame sensei as he forced Boruto, Shikadai, Inojin, and Iwabe who had appeared whilst I was contemplating.

This left just Sumire, Metal (who looked very upset), and I but my attention remained focused on the purple haired girl who was trying to maintain a composed demeanor, but I could see it the faint fluctuations of guilt and anxiety in her chakra.

"Sumire," I said keeping my tone calm and measured, "are you feeling alright?" I asked.

She turned to me startled "o-oh! I'm fine, Zangetsu. Why do you ask?"

I shrugged tilting my head slightly as if dismissing the question "no reason you just looked a little pale for a moment."

Metal's groaning brought our attention back to him as he rubbed his shin "I'm fine! R-Really! This is nothing! Just a m-minor setback!" his voice was overly cheerful but the humiliation on his face was impossible to hide.

Sumire seized the opportunity to redirect focus "I'm glad you're okay, Metal," she said, offering him a soft smile "that could've been really dangerous."

Oh, she was good almost too good at playing the concerned classmate I thought with some mental praise.

"Metal, maybe you should get that looked at," I suggested my tone neutral "a sprain could slow down your training."

Metal gave me a weak thumbs-up before hobbling off toward the infirmary now it was just Sumire and me, I glanced at her for a moment longer "well...I'll be heading off see you tomorrow, Sumire," I said bidding my farewell to secretly pursue Metal to take that bit of Nue's chakra.

-end of chapter four-

So what's your opinion so far?

I also I should mention his attire looks exactly like Old Man Zangetsu except he doesn't wear his jacket like a cape...it's just a normal coat that will turn into an inky-liquid black when he uses Almighty at it's full power.
