BNHA: I am Reiji Toga

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: U.S.J [3]

[Parallel scene – Main field, minutes before]

The blow was sharp. All Might was thrown like a projectile, crashing into one of the concrete side columns. The impact made the structure crack and raise a cloud of dust.

"Gh...!" He spat, lowering his head as the concrete crumbled around him.

He sat up immediately. There was no time for pain.

'That... was fast. Too fast. And strong.'

When he looked up, he saw the fleeting figure of the black beast heading towards him. He barely had time to react, blocking the attack with his forearms.

'It's not stronger than me, I just have to catch it...'

But the next blow came from another direction.

A second creature. Even more massive. Stronger. It appeared.

All Might was hit sideways and was thrown several meters, the ground shattering beneath his feet until he ground to a halt.

"Tch... two! What... what are these things?!"

They weren't humans.

Nor were they simple villains with Quirks.

They were... something more.

The two Nomus stopped a few meters ahead, watching him. As if waiting for orders. As if they knew he would rise.

And he did.

All Might stood up among the craters left by his body. His cape was torn, his chest heaving. But his gaze didn't waver.

"I don't know who you are... but you shall not pass."

Then he saw them.

In the distance.

Amid the smoke of battle and the screams, the silhouette of the group of students was partially visible. Reiji at the front, threads of blood extended like whips, controlling every angle of attack. Todoroki raising icy walls. Bakugo flying in erratic explosions. Melissa using her super strength to push the villains away.

'They're trying to finish them off. I have to finish this quickly.'

His eyes searched for Professor Aizawa. He was still standing, his bandages trapping enemies at the edge of the field.

All Might turned just in time to see the Force Nomu—the second one—charge at full speed, knocking down trees and walls like cardboard. It wasn't as fast as its partner, but its power was monstrous. And it was coming straight for him.

'Here it comes...!'

He couldn't dodge it.

He had to stand firm and raise both arms just before the impact.

The impact sent a shockwave through the ground, leveling part of the terrain. The concrete exploded beneath his feet. The ground shook. All Might took two steps back from the force, his body tense, his muscles vibrating.

But he didn't fall.

"RRRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" roared the hero, unleashing a straight punch to the creature's stomach.

The Nomu buckled, but didn't fall either. It fell back a couple of meters, grunting. It seemed to… resist his attacks.

All Might gasped.

'What kind of body does it have? That punch was with all my strength, and it's still standing. This isn't normal. None of this is!'

And then, from the side, the speed Nomu reappeared, whizzing like a projectile. All Might spun around barely to block it with one arm, but this time the creature wrapped both arms around him and dragged him with it.

Like a runaway train, it threw him into the open field, separating him even further from the students.

All Might landed on his feet, but the ground trembled beneath his boots. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His heart pounded erratically.

'They won't get away with this!'

Then, through the dust, he saw her.

Melissa… Melissa was running toward him.

"No, Melissa…! Get away!" All Might roared, but his voice was lost amid explosions and screams.

She had no control over her Quirk. She wasn't ready. They didn't know she had it. If they were targeting him, when they found out Melissa had her Quirk, they would definitely come for her.

Before the girl could advance any further, Reiji instantly intercepted her, redirecting her toward the defensive formation. His expression left no room for reply. He protected her without distraction. Without stopping.

"That kid… that kid sees everything," All Might whispered, panting.

All Might gritted his teeth, still feeling the rumble in his bones from the last impact. The speed Nomu watched him from afar, spinning slowly like a machine calibrating its next charge. The other Nomu was already approaching as well, the footprints it left shattering the ground as if it were dragging earthquakes under each step.

There was no time for doubt.

He couldn't get distracted. He couldn't run toward Melissa. He couldn't split his path.

He couldn't fail.

"No more!" He growled, letting the blood burning in his veins fuel the roar that emerged from his chest. "I won't hold back any longer!"

He stood upright, his silhouette firm, like a wall rising between chaos and the innocent.

The symbol of peace still stood.

"I will trust them."

He glanced at Aizawa, whose bandages trapped enemies even on the brink of collapse. At Todoroki, who reinforced the defense with impenetrable glaciers. At Bakugo, who roared with rage like a storm on wings. At Reiji, who fought with his body and blood, with a strategy no adult there seemed to possess.

'They can. They must. But this pair of monsters are mine.'

All Might flexed his leg muscles and propelled himself like a bullet toward the speed Nomu. He intercepted it before it completed its next charge, slamming it into the ground with a SMASH! that shook the entire area.

The air exploded.

"YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY STUDENTS!" he thundered, his voice like a heaven-splitting sentence.

***

"You... are too much of a hindrance."

Reiji watched him fall into his still-disintegrating dome. He had used up all the blood he had prepared as a defense, but it didn't matter.

His body reacted before his mind.

His left hand thrust straight toward the villain's face, like a straight, lethal spear. His killing intent surged forth instantly, violent, precise, without a single emotion to hold it back. It was pure survival.

From his forearm, multiple threads of blood erupted upward like guided projectiles, seeking to impale Shigaraki from various angles. The villain descended like a meteorite, his palm extended, straight for Reiji's face.

But when the blood was inches from touching him, a large portal abruptly emerged between them, swirling like an expanding black flower.

Kurogiri.

The vortex sucked Shigaraki into the air in a split second, relocating him directly behind Reiji's back.

"Tch!" Reiji reacted instantly.

His body spun sharply, his hips swung precisely, and he delivered a direct kick to the villain's shoulder, knocking him to the side before his hand could touch it. The impact was solid, enough to send him a few meters away and gain some space.

Reiji fell back to the ground, noticing that they were now surrounded by a few villains while his classmates were no longer with him.

In the distance, in the fire area, a huge curtain of ice rose into the sky. A crystalline, shining wall, its edges cracked by the heat.

Todoroki.

"I have to finish this quickly," Reiji thought, looking at all the villains around him. He was tired, and his jaw was starting to itch for blood, but his bracelet was still in place. He was still at a manageable point, which was good.

His regeneration was doing the hard work, replacing all the lost blood and the same wounds he incurs to force the blood out of his body. Shigaraki had moved away slightly, clutching his shoulder in pain.

Reiji flexed his fingers. The threads of blood tightened, targeting every enemy in his field of vision.

"I don't have much time," he muttered, more to himself than to them.

One of the threads shot toward a villain with a fiery Quirk, wrapping his leg in a taut coil before slamming him into the ground with such force that the concrete cracked beneath him. The man was left motionless, bleeding, but alive.

Another thread mercilessly pierced the legs and shoulders of a woman who was running at Reiji with all her might, causing her to fall heavily to the ground and be unable to get up.

A third lance of blood aimed at the chest of a boy who was already retreating in terror. The impact was sharp; what would have been a cane sent him flying into a wall, where he was knocked unconscious by the sheer force of the blow.

The others faltered.

And it was in that second, that instant of hesitation, that Reiji launched himself at them.

A trickle of blood slammed like a whip against one of their jaws, knocking them out. Another enemy raised his arms to cover himself, but Reiji was already in front of him, spinning on his axis, his knee plowing into his ribs with a sickening crunch. The villain collapsed screaming.

Two more tried to flee. Reiji didn't let them. A whip lashed out and caught them both by the waist, dragging them back as if they weighed nothing. He slammed them to the ground and left them there, moaning.

In less than a minute, the entire group was neutralized.

Sweat soaked his forehead. His pupils vibrated. His jaw ached like a drum: the need for blood was becoming unbearable. But the bracelet still glowed, still weathering the storm.

He looked up.

Shigaraki… that bastard was still standing. Analyzing his every move with precision.

And he was coming straight for him.

"Come on… come for me…" Reiji muttered, staring at his hand for a second. It was trembling. But not from fear. From hunger.

He could feel the blood of the enemies around him, but he wouldn't take it. Not yet.

First, Shigaraki.

From his palms, blood flowed like a controlled torrent, swirling in the air to form a dozen floating spikes. They vibrated, tense, as if they could be triggered at a mental command.

"Come on…" He whispered.

Shigaraki advanced with a firm, confident step. A purple cloud appeared at his side. Kurogiri.

That was all Reiji needed to understand.

'He won't let me reach him. He'll use his portals to defend himself against my projectiles.'

The blood spikes shot out in a zigzag pattern. Some from the front, others from the ground, two from the sides. Each one with an unpredictable trajectory.

Shigaraki didn't even flinch. Kurogiri opened two portals instantly. The fastest spikes disappeared into the mist, redirected to empty spots on the field.

One even came straight back at Reiji from behind. Though it only took a single thought for that part of him to stop.

'Continuing like this is a waste of time. I can't take advantage of the distance I can generate.'

Kurogiri wasn't fighting. But he was matching his match.

In that instant, another purple cloud appeared right at Shigaraki's feet. A heartbeat later, he was gone.

"If the first one doesn't work, the second one was no different."

Shigaraki appeared behind him, his palm extended.

Reiji somersaulted to the side, rolling on the ground to avoid direct contact. In the next instant, he lunged to punch Shigaraki in the face, but used his own blood to slow himself down as a new portal appeared.

'Kurogiri... I have to find a way to get rid of him.'

Shigaraki had disappeared again.

'He won't stop intercepting me... not as long as I see him coming.'

A new portal formed to his right.

But this time, Reiji didn't wait. He launched himself straight at him. It was no use, though, as Shigaraki entered another portal to try to get behind him again. Reiji exploded with blood from behind him, ready to impale Shigaraki.

A new portal appeared to block it. The blood, before fully entering the portal, changed trajectory at full speed.

And the barrage headed straight for Kurogiri.

"What?"

Kurogiri reacted instantly, opening a new portal in front of him to dodge the attack.

He succeeded… but at a cost.

He covered his eyes.

Only for an instant. Only by reflex. But in a fight like this, a second was enough.

"There it is."

Reiji spun around, flexing his legs with precision, and propelled himself toward Shigaraki with a frontal charge. No portals. No escape.

Shigaraki opened his eyes as he felt the killing intent.

The smile faded.

Reiji was already upon him. His right arm was covered in a sharp spiral of hardened blood, spinning like a drill bit.

Shigaraki raised his hand in an attempt to block the attack, but failed.

The attack landed.

A deep cut in his side.

Shigaraki let out a guttural growl, and on pure instinct, he tried to disintegrate the enemy arm. But Reiji had already withdrawn it, taking a spiral step toward his opposite flank.

"You...!"

"I..."

Reiji's blow zoomed toward Shigaraki's body.

Kurogiri extended his arm to create another purple cloud and absorb the attack.

But nothing happened.

The portal... didn't open. Kurogiri froze, watching as he couldn't save his master in front of him.

"What...?" He managed to mutter, confused.

And then he understood.

His eyes lifted to the top of the stands, where Aizawa watched him, his hair flowing, his bandages taut, and his eyes burning with pure concentration.

"You're not going to move another finger..." Aizawa muttered, his voice steely.

Reiji wasted no time.

He twisted his torso. He adjusted the angle. He was going for the kill.

The blood drill was inches from Shigaraki's neck.

And then...

A bang.

A A crater erupted to his right, accompanied by a sonic hum that tore through the air like compressed thunder.

Reiji barely turned his face. He couldn't see.

A black shadow charged at him.

A deformed, monstrous claw pierced him from side to side.

It entered with surgical violence through his left side, piercing skin, muscle, and bone with a single impact. The sound was grotesque: a wet crunch followed by a dull snap, like branches breaking beneath wet earth.

The claw emerged from his back, tearing out part of his abdomen.

Flesh was torn, ribs splintered, blood spurting. The left half of his abdomen was gone.

His body arched, and his mouth opened with a scream that never came out. Only blood.

An instant later, the Nomu tossed him like a broken doll.

Reiji flew like a rag without an owner.

His body He spun uncontrollably, each turn leaving a crimson spiral in the air as if the world were bleeding with him.

And then he fell.

He crashed into a concrete slab with a dry, shattering crash, like flesh against stone.

The echo of the impact rippled through the dome like thunder frozen in time.

The entire field froze.

Villains, heroes, students… They all turned.

And they saw him.

Reiji didn't move.

A dark pool formed beneath his body, fed by the cascade of blood pouring from his torn side. A grotesque hole throbbed in his abdomen, as if life itself were draining through it.

His right arm hung twisted. His face was crushed against the ground.

His eyes… were open. But they couldn't see.

Barely a tremor ran through his fingers. Barely a slow, unconscious blink. The lost gaze of someone beginning to forget who they were. It's.

His thoughts were echoes.

'...Himiko...'

'...not yet...'

'...this can't...'

And they went out. One by one. Like candles in a storm.

The world seemed to keep turning, but for Reiji... it was stopping.
