Blue lock: the true egoist

Chapter 81: Moving to the Next Stage

[Jude's POV]

I kept looking at my status. It might've been better to wait, but I chose to use my 10 random pro points now, and keep the 5 pro points for later.

[Shooting accuracy: 56->57

Long shot: 54->55

Free kick: 52->53

Weak foot: 54->55

Power: 55->56

Condition stability: 56->57

Coordination: 51->52

Positioning: 55->56

Feint: 56->58]

My stats are already decent, and I have 25 pro points saved up. With this I should be able to compete with the protagonists on even grounds.

If I used it on my stamina I could become a workout freak, but I have a feeling that putting my points elsewhere might end up being more beneficial.

After all, my main strength comes from the many rewards I would get from completing quests.

So I'll use those points in order to complete even more quests. I'll use them when necessary.

Many more people joined us.

At first it was only me and Kurona, so the atmosphere was a little tense, but soon a flock of people joined us.

None of us have formed teams yet. I also saw Nagi and Reo, which I recognized from our first meeting during Ego's introduction.

Back then they were a wall I couldn't even hope to go against.

Yet now I had a feeling that I had my chances against them. I didn't feel as intimidated. We were in the same realm.

'Too bad, if Nagi wasn't so set on playing with Isagi I would've loved teaming up with someone so insanely talented.' I thought as I saw the main character of this world walk through the gates.

After using my [Eyes of the Lord] I wanted to play with them even more.

Nagi, Rin, Bachira and even Isagi. They're all special. They all hold a Z Rank special weapon similar to mine. For Bachira it's his "monster" whilst for isagi it's his adaptability.

I was feeling slightly dissatisfied. So far everything was going exactly the same as in the original story. It felt as if my appearance didn't have much of an impact yet.

"I won't be satisfied unless I put chaos in this project. I will have to destroy every single one of them if I want to reach my goal." I murmured.

A wide smile formed on my face as I watched the door open once more.

'So this one must be Bachira-'

Or not.

I take it back.

Some things did change.

My smile grew wider as I watched Yukimiya walk out of the door — soon followed by Bachira.

"You've grown much stronger." I acknowledged after using my special weapon on him.

He walked towards me.

"And yet, you were here before me."

I could see from his expression that his displeasure was sincere. Did he finish earlier than supposed to because he was trying to one-up me?

"That's quite cute." I laughed as he looked at me angrily while trying to catch his breath.

"You even look like you had time to rest. Just how long did you wait here?" Yukimiya asked curiously.

"About 20 minutes." I replied honestly.

"Are you serious? You didn't even enter much earlier than me..."

"Yep, and yet I wasn't even the first." His shocked expression was the funniest.

"Just how many more monsters are there in here." Yukimiya sighed as he laid on the wall beside me. "We need three people to move to the next stage, so who's going to be the third?" He added, as if it was already natural that we'll both be on the same team.

I didn't refute him.

"I'm thinking about either Miyata or Akira, I'm already used to playing with both of them and I know they won't bring me down. Or maybe even Yanagi."

"So we will just go with the first person to join us." He replied, unbothered by my choices.

He was the only survivor in his team so it didn't matter much who would join. I could already tell what he was thinking. As long as he played in the same team as me he would get his chance to prove that he was better.

He was pretty easy to read.

"What about me? Can I join your clan?" A carefree voice intruded on our conversation.

It wasn't an unfamiliar voice.

I immediately recognized the owner of the voice. The only one who could sneak up on me like that — Eita Otoya.

"You even sneak up on people outside of matches?" Yukimiya voiced out, slightly taken aback by how stealthy the apprentice ninja was.

Ignoring Yukimiya's comment, he reiterated. "I was the first one who came out of the gate, so? I'm in?"

"You're really the definition of going with the flow." I smiled as I took his outstretched hand.

"Guess our team is full now."

[3rd POV]

After Ego's explanation on how the second selection would proceed and the process of the rivalry battle we found ourselves alone again.

A few other teams did join us, but not any I was interested in going against.

If I could steal a player, I might as well take someone who would be useful against Team World Five.

"Why did you choose to join us?" Yukimiya asked while looking at the chill guy who was busy fooling around.

..

..

"I planned to wait for the crow, but since he's late I took the Walmart version." He replied in a teasing voice.

"Quite funny to think that the Walmart version beat the both of you." Yukimiya spat back, indirectly defending Jude. It was clear that he wasn't a fan of either of them. After all he did lose against Otoya and Karasu.

But who could blame him, especially when both of their teams were more than op.

Yukimiya was in the same position as Barou during the first selection. Stuck in a useless team where he had to do all the work on his own.

It's surprising that he made it this far and even managed to score against those stacked teams.

"Well, if you want Karasu so bad, I already know who can do for our next opponents." Jude chimed in while glancing at the new team who joined the second stage.

Tabito Karasu, Yo Hiori, and... Aki Miyata.

"If this isn't our good old friends!" Karasu waved with a smile when he noticed the gazes of the three boys.

"Let's do it."
