Blue lock: the true egoist

"Let's goo Nathan and Jude you guys were amazing!!" The game was finally over.

The final score was 3 to 2. Even though they managed to score another goal in the 88th minute thanks to their cheat midfielder we did our best to stall for as much time as possible and Alex ended up saving 2 more shots which made us win the game.

Even if we managed to win the game we all knew that if their new midfielder had better teammates we would've lost for sure.

That man really deserved to be the star of the A team. He managed to carry a whole team on his shoulders and nearly pushed us to our loss.

I'm sure that if he started since the beginning of the match we would've lost, luckily as the system notification I received indicated this was our win.

Even if some of our teammates weren't at the level of the B team a few of us were way stronger than them. Especially Alex and Pedro, I'm pretty sure those 2 are already at a level in which they could easily play for the A team.

"Bahahahaha that match was indeed very interesting." Unexpectedly the A team's prodigy was the one who came asking for a high five at the end of the game.

"Yeah you could say so." I high Fived him as he wanted.

"I'm Ricardo Torres, nice to meet you." He introduced himself in a friendly way.

"Jude Sanchez. Nice to meet you too." I can't explain why but I had a hard time getting used to his friendliness.

"Bahahahaha no need to be so stiff. I'll be waiting for you to join the A team. I also hope some of your friends will get there before the summer tournament in 3 months." He said as he walked away from the field without even consoling his temporary teammates.

After talking to him I was certain that he didn't even play seriously, I already guessed it from the look on his face but seeing him being so friendly even after a loss made it obvious. He was for sure a very carefree person.

Though the time he mentioned for the summer tournament made me realize something, my quest to join the A team also have a 3 months time limit? Is it trying to hint that I should try to join that tournament?

"I want everyone standing in a straight line in front of me!" The coach's call took me out of my daze and we all did as ordered.

"Today was a very great match and you all managed to prove yourself, even though Ricardo joined their side in the second half we still won this game so I'm very proud of you all. I hope everyone is ready because we will now be announcing the new members of the B team."

Everyone from our team was overwhelmed with joy and hope after hearings those words while I could feel the people from the B team getting increasingly tense.

That was understandable since many were about to lose their place in the team. But I couldn't be bothered to care about that.

The notification from the system already indicated that they have made up their mind to add me to the B team and that was all I needed to care about.

"Hey Jude do you think we'll be taken?" Nathan asked me while being a little worried.

"Man, you have 2 assists and a goal, if they don't take you then who will they take?" I said with a smile.

"Bahahahaha" even Alex laughed at my words.

Apparently that was enough to help Nathan stop panicking and regain his composure as the coach started by announcing the people who would be demoted from the B team.

There's 4 new places who got freed. if not for Ricardo coming in during the second half I'm sure there would be even more than 4 places.

"Now we will begin announcing the new members who got accepted into the B team!"

"First of all we have Pedro Pasqual, we know you have been delaying your promotion for a while because of your injury but I believe you should at least be in the B team if not in the A team." The coach announced while shocking everyone.

Pedro simply nodded as if the news didn't surprise him at all. After hearing the words from the coach we all understood a bit more about Pedro's situation, the reason why he have been keeping a low profile and not going too hard during training was that he was recovering from an injury.

"Then we have Alex Ramirez, you did an amazing job keeping our cages and even if you failed catching Ricardo's shots you have the most potential as a keeper so we all hope to see you reach the A team one day."

"Thank you coach!" Alex replied with the same confident smile plastered on his face.

"Nathan swift. With 2 assists and one goal, you were clearly the man of the match this game and have always been an amazing asset to the club so we hope to see you join the B team."

"Thank you!!" Nathan yelled out. He was by far the happiest one, he have always have some problems with his self esteem despite being an amazing player.

"And finally the one who create a deadly offense alongside Nathan, Jude Sanchez. Thanks to your 2 goals in the first half we managed to gain an advantage which is what made us win this game."

"Congratulations guys!" Alex said while hitting our backs.

He was trying to act cool but it was obvious that he was also excited of finally being promoted. Now the last step for us is to get to the A team.

As soon as I arrived back home I checked my new rewards.

With that I now had a total of 40 stat points that I could put anywhere I wanted.

It made me feel like it was a lot but when I remembered that in the professional mode it would be equal to 20 stat points and thinking of how many stats I actually had made it feel kind of ridiculous.

But it could still help my progression so I won't be complaining about it.

After taking one more look at my current stats I decided that I will be putting all my stat points into stamina.

[Stamina: 48-> 88]

Not only would it help me during games to keep up a higher intensity for the whole 90 minutes, but it would also help me train for longer which would in turn let me improve my other stats at a higher pace than they normally would.

With that I was finally ready to make my debuts in a real team. Even if it's just the B team I knew we could play matches against other teams and even have some games against the A team at some point.

That would be my chance to get scouted and finally succeed in my quest. Getting a place in the A team could also mean that I'd get the 50 random stat points but the most exciting thing is without a doubt the D rank special weapon.

I wonder what type of special weapon I might get.
