Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel

Chapter 602: The Light of the Covenant

"Prince, please place the Book of Covenant on the altar."

At one side of the altar, the Roman family elder spoke solemnly.

Prince Henry took a deep breath to calm his emotions.

He then nodded slightly and placed the heavy tome on the altar.

"Prince, next… please stand within the Array and begin to call upon the Roman Sword."

The elder conducting the ceremony continued.

It came...

Prince Henry's gaze sharpened.

He knew his destiny was about to change completely.

He made no move but exchanged a glance with Duke Conte who was in the viewing stand.

Duke Conte nodded at him, his expression also carrying an encouraging smile.

Prince Henry's nervousness settled somewhat.

Though he knew his court advisor's intentions weren't pure, at least... on the matter of assisting his ascent to the throne, everyone's intentions aligned.

"Your Highness?"

Seeing Prince Henry fall silent, the family elder frowned and repeated his words.

Only then did Prince Henry look towards the elder.

He took a deep breath and suddenly smiled:

"Elder sir, it seems you've missed a step."

"Missed a step?"

The family elder blinked in confusion.

Watching Prince Henry's gaze towards the Book of Covenant, he immediately understood and explained with a smile:

"Oh, Your Highness, are you referring to activating the Book of Covenant?"

"Perhaps you're unaware, but the real Book of Covenant was lost long ago. The one you just placed on the altar is a fake, so there is no need for activation."

"However, calling upon the Roman Sword doesn't actually require the Book of Covenant. We place the 'Book of Covenant' on the altar merely to follow ancient traditions."

"So… you can proceed to the next step."

After explaining, the elder conducting the ceremony again gestured for Prince Henry to proceed.

However, Prince Henry still did not move.

"Your Highness, do you intend to proceed with the ceremony or not?"

The family elder finally showed some displeasure.

This time, Prince Henry finally acted.

Instead of beginning the summoning as per the procedure, he pointed at the book on the altar and said with a smile:

"Elder sir, please take a closer look at the Book of Covenant I have just placed on the altar, whether it is genuine or fake."

The Roman family elder blinked, then instinctively stepped forward.

After scrutinizing the Book of Covenant on the altar for a moment, his expression shifted from surprise to hesitation, and finally to uncertainty:

"Hmm? This… does not seem to be the one we prepared in advance."

"The material, this magic pattern… this… could this be…"

Watching the elder's eyes widen, Prince Henry knew it was almost time.

He exchanged glances once more with Duke Conte on the viewing stand, and the two shared a smile.

Then, Prince Henry picked up a Magic Sound Transmission Crystal that could project his voice across the entire square, scanned the crowd, took a deep breath, and declared solemnly:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is the true Book of Covenant. The Romany Royal Family has retrieved the real Book of Covenant!"

The real Book of Covenant?

The watching crowd was momentarily stunned.

For the civilians, it was merely exciting; they didn't understand the details of the ceremony.

But the nobles on the viewing stand were thrown into turmoil.

"The real Book of Covenant? Did the King manage to retrieve the legendary Book of Covenant linked to the Roman Sword?"

"Is this real or fake?"

"Looking at the elder's expression, it seems real, the Royal Family indeed seems to have retrieved the Book of Covenant…"

"Wait, does this mean the Prince intends to change the previous procedure and not directly call upon the Roman Sword but instead activate the Book of Covenant to summon it?!"

"It seems likely…"

"But… wasn't there a rumor about his lineage…"

"Hush… Silence! You know that's just a rumor, since the Prince dares to use the Book of Covenant directly, he must be confident."

"Could it be that all those were baseless slander? Is his bloodline indeed issue-free?" Forabetterreadingexperience, visitM(VLEMPYR).

"…"

The nobles whispered among themselves.

Meanwhile, at the altar, as Prince Henry overhearing the nobles' discussion, his spine straightened gradually.

The existence of the Book of Covenant was no secret among the higher echelons of Falling Star.

The Book of Covenant of Roman was the pickiest about bloodlines; once he could activate it, even if the following ceremony didn't go smoothly, the dispute over his bloodline would necessarily be settled!

"Prince Henry, I have confirmed that this is indeed the real Book of Covenant, but… are you sure you want to summon the Roman Sword this way?"

The presiding elder asked, frowning.

Speaking, he looked deeply into Prince Henry's eyes, meaningfully reminding him:

"Forgive my candor, summoning the Roman Sword in the usual manner, anyone with Roman bloodline will qualify to complete the ceremony, but the Book of Covenant… is different."

"If not a pure Roman descendant, the Book of Covenant… won't respond."

Hearing the elder's suggestive reminder, Prince Henry felt somewhat embarrassed.

He understood the elder's point; the elder was reminding him that with his bloodline, it might be difficult to successfully activate the Book of Covenant.

He had to admit, it was true.

He had actually tried using his own blood on the Book of Covenant before the ceremony, but it had completely ignored him.
