Chapter 11: Bite You
ELIANA'S POV
We stayed together, joking and laughing totally forgetting the fact that we're inside a prison cell. I talked to him not because I cared but because I was bored, I didn't want to spend two days staring at the ceiling or ignoring him. At least I can be entertained and hungry.
"Yeah, whatever!" I rolled my eyes and he continued laughing. "I can't believe you said that to my father, I really need to get a pin for that mouth of yours." He joked and I scoffed.
"I defended you so, we're even I don't owe you anymore." I said and he tilted his head. "What do you mean owe me?" He asked and I raised my brows.
"You saved me from your demonic brother and I tried to defend you from your father." I answered and he inched closer. He did love doing that and I hated it.
"But that's not what I want." He said and my breath hitched. "What do you want?" I rasped my voice coming off more breathy than intended.
"Nothing, we should just hang out." He said pulling away.
Of course he would say that. Flirtatious jerk.
I looked away. "Or do you want us to do something else?" He asked and I felt heat crawl up to my face.
"No. Just shut up please, I need to get out of here." I said standing up. Then he suddenly spoke. "Why aren't you sacred of me? Why don't you hate me?"
I furrowed my brows. "Hate you?" I repeated and he nodded, his flirtatious facade gone, now replaced with a serious look on his face.
"Why should I hate you? You didn't do anything to me?"
He closed the distance between us and I shifted backwards subconsciously but there was no space behind me hence my back met with the cold cell walls.
I felt a huge lump in my throat. "I'm a monster. A killer. You should be scared of me."
I saw a slight glimmer in his eyes, a glint of something I couldn't decipher. But I stood my ground. "I'm not scared of you." I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
He caged me in his arms, leaning down. "What if I bit you?" He asked suddenly, and I blinked. "Excuse me?"
Was he crazy?
He was about to say something when a cough interrupted us, he stepped away and faced the cell bars. A man stood there with an awkward smile on his face.
Was he the Magnus he was talking about?
"Sorry to interrupt, I just wanted to visit you both, I didn't know your punishment turned to a flipping honeymoon." He joked and Xavier smiled.
Considering the fact that my husband just offered to bite me. I wouldn't exactly call this a honeymoon.
"How are you holding up." He said facing me. "I'm doing just fine, just hungry." I replied rubbing my tummy.
"Don't worry, you'll be out of here by tomorrow, just bare with it for now." He said and I exhaled, did he expect me to survive that long?
"Please Magnus, find some food or at least a snack for her. She can't stay here that long without food." Xavier said and I raised my brows.
What was he trying to imply? That I couldn't live without food?
"Um, yes I can!" I cut in and they both turned to me like I was some fragile doll.
"No, you can stay here without any food, you have to eat something." He scolded and I rolled my eyes. "I'll be fine, it's just a few hours."
"See? She'll be fine. Mr overprotective." Magnus added and Xavier sighed. "If that's what you want, I won't force you."
"Good." I said and walked back to the bed.
Magnus and Xavier talked for a while then he left. I needed to talk to Xavier and now was my chance. We were both alone so…
"Xavier." I called, lifting myself from the bed. He turned to me. "I want to ask you for something." I added, not knowing how to put my words.
"What is it?" He said and I bit my lip. "I have a friend." I began, fiddling with my fingers.
Why was I suddenly so shy underneath his gaze.
"His name is Sebastian and I don't know I haven't heard from him in a while and I'm worried something had happened to him." I said and he raised his brows.
"Sebastian? A guy?" He repeated and I shook my head. "What do you need him for?"
I need him for an important mission that'll save my people. Yeah, I wish I could say that.
"I just miss him that's all." I muttered and he nodded understandingly. "Oh, he's your partner?" He asked and I immediately shook my head.
"No! Just a friend that all."
"But your face says otherwise." He said, a glimmer of sadness flashed in his eyes. "You're blushing." He completed and I scoffed.
"I'm not, just help me find him."
"When we get out of here, you'll talk to Magnus about it, he'll arrange a Search team and they'll find your 'Sebastian" he shrugged and made his way to the bed.
"Thank you."
It was then I noticed his back, the wounds— they've healed. How is that even possible? The wounds were so deep and would probably leave scars how did he heal it so fast.
"Um, Xavier."
"Mm?"
"What happened to your wounds?" I asked and he looked over his shoulders as though it was nothing.
"Oh, I tend to heal faster than others." He shrugged.
What did he mean by that? Those wounds were so deep how did it heal so fast?
Something was wrong and I needed to find out what it was.
