Bleach: The Unique Time Zanpakutō

Chapter 17: BUTZ: Chapter 17

Hearing this, a smile finally appeared on Kyōraku Callum's face.

"Now that's more like it!" he said. "It's about time we got Rukia back to the academy."

Kyōraku Callum stood, preparing to leave the courtyard. Kuchiki Byakuya, without objection, followed close behind.

On the way, Kyōraku Callum seemed to remember something.

"Oh, right, do everything you can to keep Hisana alive," he said. "At least until I can achieve Shikai."

Kuchiki Byakuya's composure faltered. "What do you mean?" His usual coldness couldn't be maintained when Hisana was involved.

"Perhaps I have the ability to fully heal her," Kyōraku Callum said, an enigmatic gleam in his eyes that inspired trust.

'But even the 4th Division…" Kuchiki Byakuya looked troubled.

"If the 4th Division fails, try the Zero Division. If that still fails, I can introduce you to a specialist in the human world," Kyōraku Callum said casually, walking alongside him.

"That person in the human world will definitely have a solution."

Kuchiki Byakuya nodded, committing Kyōraku Callum's words to memory. Hisana's life was not something he would take lightly.

When they saw Rukia again, the girl's eyes were swollen, and tear tracks marred her delicate face.

Noticing Kyōraku Callum's arrival, she quickly wiped away her tears, attempting to hide her vulnerability.

Kuchiki Hisana, her face pale, managed a weak smile. "Thank you, Kyōraku," she whispered.

"If there's ever anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask."

Before Kyōraku Callum could respond, Kuchiki Byakuya flashed past them using Shunpo.

"Rest and recover," he said. "I'll handle things here."

The extreme emotional upheaval could easily harm Hisana's already fragile health. Kyōraku Callum and Rukia chose to leave without further disturbing them.

On their way back, Kyōraku Callum asked, after some consideration, "Rukia, have you considered joining the nobility?"

"What do you mean?" Rukia asked, bewildered, her eyes still red and swollen from the recent events.

"Considering Hisana's connection, Kuchiki Byakuya might offer you a place in the Kuchiki family," Kyōraku Callum explained.

"It would break tradition, but it's a matter of either never happening or happening countless times. Once it starts, it won't stop."

"The Kuchiki family?" Rukia lowered her head, pondering the idea.

Kyōraku Callum didn't interrupt her thoughts; they walked silently towards Shinigami Academy.

As they neared the gates, Rukia suddenly looked up at Kyōraku Callum.

"If I join the Kuchiki family, would that mean we'd be separated?" she asked, her voice slightly panicked.

"The Kuchiki family is, after all, the head of the Four Great Noble Houses."

Kyōraku Callum leaned closer, meeting her gaze.

"Don't worry, Kuchiki Byakuya still owes me dozens of favors," he reassured her. "And we Kyōraku don't have as many stuffy rules as the Kuchikis."

Rukia's face flushed crimson. She quickly pulled away from Kyōraku Callum's hand and ran towards the academy gates.

"Wh-what does the Kyōraku family have to do with anything?" she stammered. "I just… I don't want to lose you as a friend!"

Kyōraku Callum watched her small figure disappear, a subtle smile playing on his lips.

With his mind at ease, Kyōraku Callum dedicated himself to his studies. Shinigami Academy focused on the four fundamental skills: swordsmanship, hand-to-hand combat, Shunpo, and Kidō. Except for Hakuda, Kyōraku Callum far surpassed the average instructor in the other three. This granted him numerous privileges.

His life became incredibly structured: sword meditation, spiritual pressure training, Hakuda practice, academic studies, and sparring wits with a certain tsundere girl. Time flew by in this enviable routine.

It was only Kuchiki Byakuya's disregard for academy rules, barging into his dorm during training, that made Kyōraku Callum realize how quickly time had passed.

"Byakuya, what's so urgent that you came to the academy?" Kyōraku Callum asked, already suspecting the reason. Kuchiki Byakuya, usually an ice-cold figure, had never shown such urgency before. Now, the word "anxious" was etched onto his features.

"Hisana's life is failing," Kuchiki Byakuya said. "I need your help urgently."

Kyōraku Callum frowned. "The Zero Division can't help?"

Kuchiki Byakuya looked at him strangely. "Why does it seem like the Zero Division is as common as cabbage to you? They don't just intervene at will."

Kyōraku Callum chuckled, sidestepping the question.

"The Zero Division is just one option. We could also contact the 2nd Division Captain, the current head of the Technical Development Bureau, Mayuri Kurotsuchi."

Kuchiki Byakuya's face darkened. "Don't joke," he said, his voice low and serious. "I would never let someone like Mayuri Kurotsuchi near Hisana."

Kyōraku Callum sighed. "True, he's a madman. It's hard to guarantee what he might do."

"It seems we have to resort to my last resort," he said.

Kuchiki Byakuya clenched his fist, his gaze urgent.

"The specialist in the human world?"

"Yeah, if other options fail, we have to go to the human world," Kyōraku Callum said, standing and beginning to pack his things.

Kuchiki Byakuya lowered his head, carefully weighing the pros and cons. After a moment, he looked up sharply.

"I'll request permission from the Captain-Commander to go to the human world."

"What are you doing?" Kyōraku Callum asked, tightening his Gigai and fastening the Kyōraku family crest to his arm.

"Getting ready to go to the human world, of course," he replied. "Don't forget, I'm a top student at Shinigami Academy!"

Those words triggered a memory of Shinigami Academy's regulations in Kuchiki Byakuya's mind.

"You're planning to graduate early?!"

Kyōraku Callum nodded, his expression serious.
