Chapter 31: CHAPTER 31:If There Is Another Time, I Will Kill You!
"Third Seat Madarame..." A soft voice echoed from behind Madarame Ikkaku. The chilling air instantly swept through the room. The gleam on his bald forehead immediately gathered sweat. Like prey sensing its natural predator, he froze in place.
"Didn't I say… no loud noise is allowed inside the general medical ward?" Unohana Retsu's Reiatsu dropped the room's temperature below freezing in an instant. Standing beside her, Moyu was the first to detect it.
As for the shiny head in front of them, it turned around with mechanical stiffness.
"Hahaha…" An awkward yet polite smile tugged at Ikkaku's usually fierce face, making him look almost comical. "Well, if it isn't Captain Unohana!" Ikkaku shuffled back with a stiff grin. "I was just… Damn—just worried about my squadmates, that's all!" The more he tried to explain, the more sweat drenched him until his entire uniform clung to his body.
"Is that so…" Unohana's expression softened a little. Just as Ikkaku began to think he was safe, her Reiatsu flared violently, instantly suppressing him.
Hum— The overwhelming pressure coalesced into a materialized, spectral entity—an evil spirit silently screaming above Unohana's form.
Crack…! The joints in Ikkaku's body let out a brittle, creaking sound. His face twisted with effort. Sweat the size of soybeans rolled down his glistening head, soaking the floor beneath him.
"If there's a next time…" Unohana Retsu smiled sweetly, her tone unchanged. "I'll kill you."
The weight of those words made everyone in the ward freeze. Unohana Retsu, in her other state, was absolutely terrifying. Ikkaku stood rigidly, not daring to exhale. Unohana paid him no further attention. She walked calmly past him and approached the hospital bed.
The patient lying there was tightly wrapped in bandages. The strong scent of medicinal salves hung thickly in the air. Frowning, Unohana said in a low voice, "Seinosuke, you used prohibited substances again."
Seinosuke Yamada lowered his head, not a hint of guilt on his delicate features. "The injuries were too severe. There was no way to keep him stable until your arrival without using them."
Hearing this, Moyu glanced at him a few more times. In his memory, Yamada Seinosuke was a ruthless medic. As long as the result was effective, he didn't care about the means. Compared to that, banned substances were on the safer end of his methods.
"Be more cautious next time." Unohana's brows were furrowed, a trace of disapproval in her voice. "Just because treatment is effective doesn't mean we ignore the process. The use of illegal medicine can lead to serious complications."
Hearing that, Madarame Ikkaku circled Seinosuke with clear hostility in his eyes. If Unohana weren't present, his Zanpakutō would likely already be drawn.
"Severe internal injuries, heavy blood loss…" Unohana extended a slender finger and placed it gently over the patient's heart. "Reiatsu is diminishing, and his life force is fading fast."
A soft green glow bloomed from her fingertip. A light fragrance wafted through the air, dispersing the earlier stench of blood and medicine.
Advanced Kaidō: Dispel
A surge of Unohana's Reiatsu entered the wounded man's body, intertwining with his own remaining spirit energy, reigniting vitality. Blood seeped from beneath the bandages, soaking the sheets red.

Moyu watched in silence, eyes fixed on the soft glow at Unohana's fingertips. Her focused expression, combined with a single strand of dark hair brushing across her cheek, made her seem even more composed and beautiful. Moyu couldn't help but be moved. Focused people are the most attractive. That truth applied to women, too.
Several minutes passed. Unohana finally lifted her hand from the wounded man's chest and gently brushed aside a strand of blue hair from his face, sighing softly.
"His condition has stabilized—for now. But there's a foreign Reiatsu inside his body. I can't remove it yet. So, full recovery will take some time."
Hearing this, Madarame Ikkaku let out a long breath. "Captain Unohana, thank you. If it weren't for your Kaidō, Aramaki might've… left the squad…"
In the Gotei 13, Shinigami don't leave the squad—only transfer or die. Ikkaku's so-called "leaving" meant dying in the line of duty.
While they spoke, Moyu's expression darkened. He stared at the wounded Shinigami lying unconscious on the bed. "…Something's wrong. The Reiatsu inside him feels… off."
