Next day
Kiyota's face turned sour when he looked at Karin's unconscious body lying on the floor. He picked her up. They entered the house and sat down in Ichigo's living room. Kiyota went up the stairs and placed Karin's body in her bed, then picked up Yuzu's body and put her in bed.
'They are so small. They remind me of my sister.' Kiyota thought to himself as he stared at the twins for a few moments before leaving the room.
"I think I need to explain a few things," Urahara said with a smile.
'Yeah, no shit you need to explain. But, I'm going to pretend like I have no idea what the fuck is going on.'
"That creature is called a hollow and-" Kisuke started but was cut off Rukia.
"I explained that already, don't bother." Rukia said as she winced in pain.
"Ah, very well." Kisuke said with a sigh.
'You should have used your Kidō instead of running, that's why you got hurt.' Kiyota thought to himself while facepalming.
"So Rukia how about I give you a gigai until your powers recover." Kisuke said as he smiled at Rukia.
The next day, Kiyota's eyes fluttered open as the rays of sunlight that were filtering through the window, painted his face gold.
"Ah, finally." He groaned.
Kiyota slowly sat up in bed, rubbed his eyes, and yawned.
'That was probably the worst night of sleep I've ever had. Well, I'm sure it was better than Ichigo's anyway.'
Kiyota stretched his arms, stood up, and walked over to the bathroom. He looked at himself in the mirror.
'Hmm, my hair is getting long. I need to cut it soon.'
Kiyota took a quick shower and changed into his school clothes. He brushed his teeth, put his shoes on, and went downstairs.
'Hmm, some coffee would be nice right now. It's still early, though.'
Kiyota walked into the kitchen and turned on the coffee machine. While the coffee was brewing, he made a quick breakfast.
'Ichigo is probably going to be late. I'm going to have to go to school alone again. Not like I care, it's boring there anyway.'
Just as he was finishing his meal, he heard knocking on the door.
'Rukia?' Kiyota thought as he went to answer the door.
When he opened the door, he saw Rukia standing outside.
"Good morning, Jin." Rukia said with a smile.
"Hey." Kiyota replied, stepping aside so Rukia could come inside.
"Do you want anything?" He asked.
"No, I just wanted to thank you." Rukia replied as she sat down on the couch.
Kiyota sat down next to her.
"For what?" He asked.
"For helping me save some innocent lives and exterminate a hollow"
"Oh, you're welcome." Kiyota said with a smile.
There was an awkward silence for a moment before Rukia spoke again.
"How did you know about the hollow?" She asked.
"Huh? Well, I guess I could sense it. Like a feeling in my gut." Kiyota replied.
"Really? You're pretty impressive, you know that?" Rukia said with a hint of amazement.
"Yeah, I guess so." Kiyota laughed.
'If only she knew what was really going on.'
"Anyway, we should head to school." Rukia said as she got up and started walking towards the door.
"Wait what? School? You're a Shinigami" Kiyota said, acting confused.
"I'm in a Gigai. Remember?"
"I heard that yesterday from Kisuke-san, but I don't know what it is" Kiyota laughed.
"A gigai is a fake body. It's used by Shinigami when they need to stay in the human world." Rukia said.
"Right, makes sense." Kiyota nodded, looking at Rukia.
"Oh, would you like some coffee, Rukia-chan?" Kiyota asked.
"Coffee? What is that?" Rukia asked, curious.
"It's a drink. I'm sure you'll like it. Sit back down, I'll go make you a cup."
'I haven't finished mine yet, either. I'll get two cups.'
"Thank you." Rukia said with a smile.
Rukia watched Kiyota walk into the kitchen.
'He seems like a good kid.' Rukia thought while smiling.
A few minutes later, Kiyota walked back into the room with two cups of coffee.
"Here, try it." Kiyota said, handing Rukia the cup.
Rukia took the cup, sniffed it, and took a sip.
"...Yuck." Rukia said as she stuck her tongue out.
"You don't like it?" Kiyota asked.
"Not at all. It tastes terrible." Rukia said, placing the cup down.
"Really? I love coffee." Kiyota said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"What's that stuff you added?" Rukia asked.
"Oh, that's sugar." Kiyota answered.
"Sugar? Never heard of that." Rukia said, shaking her head.
"I'll take a sip with a bucket load of sugar in it next time." Rukia said.
"Alright." Kiyota replied, laughing.
After finishing his coffee, he rinsed out the cup and put it in the sink.
"Alright, I'm ready now let's go." He said as he walked towards the door.
"Okay." Rukia said as she got up and followed him.
The two of them left the house and headed for school.
'It feels weird walking to school with someone.' Kiyota thought.
They walked through the streets and past Kurosaki Clinic. They could see a few people standing around. Ichigo was staring at the giant hole in the house.
'I'm sure Ichigo will be quite surprised when he finds out that his sister's memories were wiped about the incident.' Kiyota thought to himself.
