A spar with Tatsuki
"Just as a word of advice... The things you see in movies don't work in real life." Tatsuki said with a chuckle.
'She's not wrong.'
"Don't worry, I know." Kiyota replied, rolling his sleeves.
'She's underestimating me. Well, that's to be expected.'
Kiyota got into position, his feet slightly apart. He was doing a sort of half-shrug and his palms were slightly open near his chest.
"Okay, ready whenever you are, Kiyota." Tatsuki said while already in her classic Shotokan position. She was tensed like a coiled spring.
"Alright."
Tatsuki began by taking a step forward and throwing a punch towards Kiyota's face. Kiyota immediately dodged by moving his head to the side.
'Shit, she's fast.'
'That was just a basic punch, I can't afford to get hit even once.'
Tatsuki continued throwing punches, and Kiyota continued to dodge.
'Oh man, thank you so much, system. I'm so thankful for my speed. Speed is king.' Kiyota thought to himself.
"You're welcome, host." Siri's voice suddenly spoke in his head.
'Ah! Shit, you scared me!'
Kiyota was distracted for a second and Tatsuki threw a hook towards him. He immediately ducked and took a step back. Kiyota was at the edge of the mat.
'What the hell was that? Siri?'
"I'm your system, host. I can hear your thoughts." Siri said matter-of-factly.
"New quest, check status panel"
'Not now, Siri.'
Kiyota focused on the match again and got back into position.
'I can't dodge forever. I need to counter-attack. Let's go'
Tatsuki threw a straight punch towards his face, and Kiyota took a step forward, placing his left hand on the inside of her arm, redirecting her punch to the right. Kiyota put his leg behind Tatsuki's leg and pulled her foot, causing her to lose her balance and fall forward.
'Damn, this is harder than I thought.' Kiyota cursed.
Tatsuki, however, wasn't going down so easily. She managed to recover her balance by shifting her body weight. Tatsuki put her arms up to protect her head and continued punching at Kiyota. Kiyota tried to deflect and redirect her punches.
'Shit, she's fast. It's difficult to control her attacks.'
Kiyota took a few steps back and decided to change his tactics.
'Her movements are very simple, and her punches aren't heavy. Maybe I should try to overwhelm her. Even if I don't get a hit in, I'll tire her out. Let's go'
Tatsuki continued with the punches and instead of dodging, Kiyota stepped forward and threw a roundhouse kick that barely missed her.
'What the-'
Tatsuki was slightly taken aback and lost her rhythm.
'Now!'
Kiyota stepped in with his right foot, went on his left knee and grabbed her waist. Tatsuki immediately brought her fist down to attack Kiyota, but he lifted her up slightly and pushed her down on the floor.
"Gah!" Tatsuki gasped.
'Gotcha'
Kiyota was on top of her and had her pinned. Tatsuki's leg was in between Kiyota's legs, and his arms were holding her wrists down.
'Damn, she's heavy.'
"I win." Kiyota said with a smile, looking at Tatsuki's face.
"How?!"
"What do you mean how? I beat you."
"No, that's not possible." Tatsuki said, confused.
"Oh really, well, what does it look like to you?"
"I don't know how, but you somehow manipulated my body and threw me on the ground."
'Wow, I was not expecting her to say that. That's kinda funny.'
Kiyota stood up and held his hand out towards Tatsuki. She grabbed his hand and stood up.
"It's called Brazilian jiu-jitsu." Kiyota said flatly.
"What the fuck? Why do you know that?" Tatsuki asked incredulously.
"I don't know, why do you know how to use karate?" Kiyota replied with a question.
"Alright, fair enough. Let's go again." Tatsuki said with a smile.
"No way! I only won because I caught you off guard. Plus, I'm very tired and you're super strong. If we went again, I'm sure you'll win." Kiyota said while waving his hands in front of him.
'I'm actually exhausted.'
"Fine. I mean, you weren't even supposed to fight today. I signed you up already, so let's get outta here." Tatsuki said with a bit of attitude.
'Ahh, I think she's a little bit angry.'
"Sorry about that, I just wanted to spar. But yeah, let's go." Kiyota said with a smile, rubbing the back of his head.
"Whatever." Tatsuki rolled her eyes.
'Well, that was kinda fun. I should get a few more points into strength. My punches wouldn't even graze a hollow.'
Kiyota and Tatsuki made their way to the exit and were walking towards the door.
'I should check the quest.' Kiyota thought to himself.
He quickly pulled up the system panel.
'Siri, open quest panel. I'm not really in the mood for this.'
The holographic screen appeared in front of kiyota's face.
----
Quest Completed: Beat Tatsuki Arisawa
Reward: 15 status points, Chidori
----
'Whoa, hold on. I wasn't expecting that.' Kiyota was stunned.
'Chidori... I finally have a way to fight. 15 status points, I'll use them when I'm at home.'
'Siri, Is it the same chidori from Naruto?' Kiyota questioned.
"Yes."
'Hmm...'
"Is there something wrong, host?"
'I have two skills from Naruto now... Is that the only type of skill I can get?'
"No. You have access to unlock every single skill in anime."
'That's a relief. I want to learn some techniques from other animes too.'
"Beggars can't be choosers." Siri said, with an irritated tone.
'Huh?'
'This bitch... No, she's an AI. Maybe it's a bug.'
"I am capable of learning and evolving. Bitch" Siri said, with an even more annoyed tone.
'This AI is getting pretty damn smart. Well, at least I won't be talking to myself all the time.' Kiyota thought, a little concerned.
"Don't worry, host. You can't get rid of me." Siri said.
'Well, anyway, this is perfect timing. If I remember correctly, Orihime gets attacked tonight. I want to practice a bit more before night.' Kiyota though as he looked up at the afternoon sky.
"Hey Tatsuki, I'll be heading home now. See you, later." Kiyota said to Tatsuki.
"Huh, yeah. See you." Tatsuki replied.
Kiyota walked over to the sports equipment storage facility and went inside.
"Seems he got his body back." Kiyota said looking around.
'I'm gonna leave and go practice the Chidori and the genjutsu.'
Sometime later, kiyota arrived home. He was pacing back and forth in his room, thinking to himself.
