Bleach My days as an Espada

Chapter 29: Chapter 29

The struggle regarding the execution at Sōkyoku persists, and Hitsugaya Tōshirō, the 10th squad captain overseeing Aizen's death investigation in the Seireitei, led Matsumoto Rangiku to a previously overlooked area—the initial order for Rukia Kuchiki's execution by Central 46.

"Are we not heading to Sōkyoku hill, Captain? " Rangiku inquired as they sprinted along.

"The situation has spiraled into chaos, leaving me clueless about the intentions of those in charge," Tōshirō replied.

"I can only devise a strategy to manage this mess now. Let's pick up the pace, Matsumoto! "

As they began to employ Shunpo, the distance to Central 46 dwindled rapidly. Upon reaching the courtyard of Central 46, both surveyed the scene and were struck by the unnerving silence that enveloped the area.

"Unexpectedly… no guards around. Since when did these elders become so overconfident? "

After sharing a look, Tōshirō approached the gate and called out,

"I am Hitsugaya, captain of the 10th Division! Due to the urgency of the matter, please permit me to enter. "

However, as soon as Tōshirō finished speaking, numerous sharp blades descended from the gate, obstructing their entrance.

"The emergency protection barrier is still operational? "

Tōshirō's heart raced as he quickly deduced that something had transpired within Central 46. He drew his Zanpakutō and, without further ado, forced the door open. Once inside, an overwhelming scent of blood assaulted their senses.

"This is. . . "

With little time to ponder, they rushed to the courtroom, only to find Central 46, normally comprising forty nobles and six judges—the pinnacle of the Soul Society judiciary—completely annihilated without a soul noticing. Engaging with the dried blood on the table, it had darkened and crumbled at a mere touch.

Tōshirō realized that the deaths had not occurred recently. When could this have happened? Were the orders we received a few days ago completely false? Who could perpetrate such a deed? Ichimaru? He couldn't possibly execute this alone. Were there accomplices involved?

"I didn't expect to see you here, Captain Hitsugaya. I'm contemplating whether or not to eliminate you,"

a sudden voice echoed through the dark courtroom. Startled, Tōshirō and Rangiku turned to see Kira Iziru at the gate, watching them intently.

"Did you do this, Kira? " Tōshirō pressed urgently, but Kira vanished before he could receive a response.

"Let's go, Matsumoto! "

With that, Tōshirō and Rangiku pursued Kira Iziru out onto the rooftop. Tōshirō called out,

"Kira, why are you doing this? "

"I just showed up a few moments before you, Captain Hitsugaya! "

Kira's face and gaze were off, revealing an overwhelming feeling of vacuity throughout his being.

"You're not convincing anyone. "

Just as Tōshirō was poised to react, Kira gloomily interjected,

"Is it truly appropriate for you to pursue me like this? Captain Hitsugaya, shouldn't your focus be on safeguarding Hinamori right now? "

Kira's remarks stunned Tōshirō, and as he opened his mouth to respond, Kira pressed on:

"Are you trying to claim that you utilized the mirror barrier to protect Hinamori when she isn't even there anymore? "

"Shortly after Captain Hitsugaya left, she dismantled the mirror barrier and followed you! "

Even though Kira didn't conclude his thought, he clearly communicated to Tōshirō that while he was after him, Hinamori had already reached Central 46 alone, a place fraught with peril.

"I trust you with this, Matsumoto! "

Once he finished speaking, Tōshirō dashed towards Central 46 at full speed without glancing back, repeatedly uttering in his mind:

"Hinamori, I hope you're safe. "

At that moment, Hinamori stood before the courtroom gates. She recalled witnessing Tōshirō pursuing Kira earlier and felt confused, believing that Tōshirō had slain Captain Aizen.

He was the villain who aimed to destabilize the Soul Society, as noted in Aizen's suicide letter to her, yet the recent events seemed entirely out of place.

As Hinamori's heart was in disarray, a tall figure approached her from behind.

"Welcome! Hinamori. "

That somber tone compelled Hinamori to turn her head with difficulty, revealing Ichimaru Gin's ever-present smile, sending chills down her spine.

"Captain. . . Ichimaru. "

"Come closer and take a look. "

After Ichimaru Gin's words, he turned and walked away by himself.

"This is where the forty-six reside. "

"Why did you bring me here, Captain Ichimaru? "

Ichimaru Gin merely replied:

"Have you been here before, Hinamori? "

"How could that be possible? Isn't this a location where entry is strictly forbidden? This is my first visit. "

The two stood before a door, and Ichimaru Gin abruptly halted, softly stating,

"Someone wishes to see you, Hinamori. "

"See me? "

"Yes. . . "

After his statement, Ichimaru Gin stepped aside, revealing a figure emerging behind Hinamori. As the sound of clogs echoed on the floor, Hinamori instinctively turned around. To her astonishment, it was Aizen Sōsuke, the long-deceased captain of the 5th division.

Seeing Aizen Sōsuke grin at her with a gentle demeanor and warm eyes, Hinamori couldn't help but approach Aizen hesitantly, reaching out to touch his garments.

"Aizen. . . Captain Aizen? Is it truly you? "

"As you can see, I'm still alive! My apologies for worrying you. "

As she spoke, Aizen extended his hand, gently caressing her forehead. In that instant, the girl's emotional barriers shattered, prompting her to wrap her arms around Aizen in a release of her feelings.

"I. . . I have always held onto the belief that Captain Aizen, you were still alive! "

"Captain Aizen can't just perish like that! He can't simply forsake me! "

Responding to her words, Aizen comfortingly patted Hinamori on the back, speaking softly:

"You've lost some weight, and I'm truly sorry. I had no idea I affected you so profoundly! But please know, I had to take care of something, and so I feigned my death. . . "

"It doesn't matter. . . It no longer matters! As long as the captain is alive, nothing else matters to me. . . "

In Aizen's embrace, Hinamori felt overwhelmed with joy.

"Thank you, Hinamori. It's wonderful to have a subordinate like you! I truly appreciate it. Farewell! "

Once he finished speaking, a blade pierced Hinamori's chest, and blood quickly stained the floor.

"What. . . what is happening. . . ? "

At that moment, Hinamori struggled to comprehend the reality unfolding before her. She even reached out to touch the blood on the blade, unable to fathom that it was all genuine.

When she finally looked up at Aizen, she only encountered his cold, indifferent expression, and she collapsed in her own blood.

"Oh my, such a delightful subordinate. Aizen-sama, wouldn't it be a shame to eliminate her like this? "

From the shadows, Fiander emerged, casting a brief glance at Hinamori before speaking.

"Isn't this the one you chose ? So unfortunate."

Aizen offered no elaboration, only responding icily:

"Let's go, Gin, Fiander. "

"Yes! Captain Aizen! "
