Blackmail System in Classroom of the Elite

Chapter 24: Chapter 23: The System is Leaving?

I stared at the flashing screen that hovered in front of me.

It seemed to be blinking excitedly and I tapped it, causing it to stop.

The screen began distorting, and the interface began changing.

[Host- Michael Frost

Age- 16

System Points- 1]

Hah…?

Perhaps it was the exhaustion from sex but I felt a bit disoriented. The new 'Attribute and Skills' section immediately caught my attention... there were approximately a few hundred 'Abilities' listed with the ones I used more frequently at the top.

What's the purpose of this?

Could it be I could upgrade these as well?

And why the fuck did I have a separate skill for 'Dodging'?

It was rated SS as well!

Was SS the limit or SSS? Are there tiers beyond that? Could I actually break the limit of humanity using points?

That'd certainly be interesting.

Raping Karuizawa was worth it.

A smile involuntarily crept up my face—

Ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

What?

The System began ringing excitedly and the screen began distorting. It cracked and reformed before repeating the process an infinite amount of times. A bit of anxiety began seeping into my mind.

Was the System going to fuck up the moment I completed the first task? Had I committed a crime for no reason at all?

A flicker of frustration welled up in my mind.

But my heart remained calm throughout the ordeal.

I never cared much about the System in the first place.

Even if the System were to disappear my life wouldn't change. A second chance at life was much more than I could hope for.

Though looking at the fading System screen a flicker of regret passed through my mind, maybe I should've instantly used the point then letting it go to waste.

A few minutes passed in silence once the System screen disappeared.

"I didn't need you in my past life nor do I need you now... But I'm thankful for this new life."

My pride knew no bounds. Even though my personality had been tamed down in prison my core would never change. The System had been a nice addition but I could make do without—

"..."

A screen hovered in front of me. It appeared out of nowhere, just as the first time. But there was no text on it.

Just as my confusion had reached its peak the screen began morphing, taking on a human shape. As the features of this human figure became clearer, sharper, my heart began racing.

I...

"...Adrian?" The name escaped my lips.

The human figure was a teenage boy with short black hair and handsome features that somewhat resembled mine.

It was Adrian Frost, my psychopathic little cousin.

"Michael," the miniature human figure smiled warmly, "How have you been?"

In an instant everything became clear. My second chance at life wasn't granted by some god, it was my own little cousin.

"So you've become some kind of deity now?"

Adrian shook his head, "Far from it," a complex look shone in his eyes, "Things are much more complicated than I imagined."

Silence stretched between us, for some reason I did not know what to say.

"I didn't expect this, are you guilty?" Adrian laughed, sounding amused. "While you were partly responsible, had you not opened my eyes perhaps we'd both be living in mediocrity and I wouldn't have gotten the opportunity I did... So thank you for that."

I did not understand his words.

"Aunt and Emily... I didn't expect you to exploit them. I told you not to touch family." A hint of reproach seeped into my voice. To me, Adrian was just as much of a little cousin as much as an apprentice or perhaps disciple was the right word?

After all, he was the only one I shared my achievements with.

Perhaps Adrian sensed it and a look of sorrow crossed his eyes.

"Did you bring them back?" I asked, "After all, you've become so powerful."

Adrian shook his head, "My main body is occupied, when I came back to Earth I could not find you at all. Later I learnt that you had died of a cardiac arrest before your scheduled execution. I had to make a trip across the River of Time and pull your soul away." Adrian showed an exasperated look.

"How did you end up like that? The Michael I knew left no traces of his crimes. Just look at your attribute panel, if I had even half of these in the real world I'd be overjoyed... Your talent is something else."

"You should know, I lost control... Well, let's leave it at that. What about Aunt and Emily?"

Another bout of silence stretched between us.

Adrian was a psychopath. I know this. But his love for his family was real, and that could never be denied. There was a reason he had fallen into a state of depression after the death of Aunt and Emily.

Though he did give the excuse of 'goddess-like Chinese women' on Instagram how could I fall for such an obvious lie?

Adrian shook his head, "It's better to let them rest."

"... I see."

"Well, I don't have much time so I'll speed things up. I've given you a derivative of my own System. You're currently in an entirely different Multiverse so I can't visit you in person. I'll make a trip when I'm... free."

He could send me here but not come himself? Odd.

"As for the distortion before, forgive me for that while I did dumb down the abilities because I can't send you to stronger worlds, I didn't expect it to get so nerfed. While I did tailor it to your desires of peace and lack of ambition I didn't expect it to have just one function. I'm a clone so I can't do much but I've tweaked it to make it a bit better. Do note that upgrading your physique will also grant you lifespan. Your System Points are basically World Essence, an energy belonging to the cast of Classroom of the Elite. People outside the web of the Heavenly Spirit will not grant you World Essence. For now, I've subdued the Heavenly Spirit of this world. My abilities are limited so that's the best I can do. I hope that you and I both will still be alive by the time I've finished conquering Eternity."

"Your life sounds complicated."

"A little bit," Adrian smiled awkwardly, he changed the topic, "What's the name of your System?"

"Blackmail System."

"..." Adrian was speechless though his eyes held laughter, "I guess that's expected of you?"

"Don't act like a bitch, you seemed to have had a similar experience so tell me the name of your System." I scoffed, this little brat dared to put airs in front of him?

"...Lazy Lust System."

"Pff ahahahaha!"

Adrian smiled wryly then looked at the bed behind him, his gaze fixing on the lock of blonde hair. A flicker of recognition shimmered in his eyes.

"Karuizawa?" He muttered, "I thought you'd go after Airi like me."

I shook my head, "I'm not sure of your thought process but I don't gamble. Why choose a 90% chance of success over 100%?"

I looked at him curiously, "Have you been to Classroom of the Elite?"

"It was my first world haha," he laughed.

"So that's why you sent me here?"

"You're the one that introduced the light novel to me, and wasn't it your favourite series? Surely there's no better world I could send you to that has no superpowers. I would've sent you to a stronger world if I could but unfortunately..."

"I suppose so, how did you end up leaving though? Did you erase the Whiteroom?"

"Well yes, but I ended up slaughtering everyone. There's no Classroom of the Elite left in my Universe."

"???"

"Sigh..."

Why am I not surprised?

"How long have you been fighting?" I asked suddenly.

Adrian was surprised, "Is it obvious?"

"You can't hide it from me." I could tell, he seemed tired though he tried to hide it.

"Well, things went a bit different from how I predicted." Adrian frowned, "As for how long I've been fighting...I... I don't know... I don't know..."

He muttered and I shook my head, that's why I desired a peaceful life. Look at this brat, I'm not sure if it'll be him dying first or me.

I was well aware that the reason Adrian had suddenly remembered me was because he was in a dangerous situation where he was probably reminiscing about his life.

Otherwise, with how close we were, there's no way he wouldn't visit in person if he could.

"I'll be waiting then."

Adrian smiled, "I hope you can live the peaceful life you wished for in prison. We'll meet again if fate allows it."

His figure began fading and a silent sigh left my lips.

"I've left you one last gift. You'll understand once you complete your second Blackmail."

His voice echoed one last time.

"Talking to family once again has been a very... pleasant experience, Michael." a small pause ensued, "I've never forgotten the lesson you taught me. It's gotten me to where I am right now."

I guess with his personality he must've labelled these fictional characters as NPCs.

So you've followed the ideal I taught you till the end?

Foolish brat.

Hah, look at me getting sentimental.

This might as very well be the first and last time we talk after our deaths.

Well, at least it was nice to know my psychopathic little brother hasn't lost all his heart yet.

I turned my attention to the System once again.

It was time to enjoy this little gift my dear little brother had left behind.
