Black Clover: The Son of Fire Dragon Igneel

Chapter 122: SFDI: Chapter 122

"War"

In Fairy Tail's basement, the guild members were gathered, the atmosphere heavy with tension.

Gajeel's attack had occurred the previous night, and the news had reached the guild members the following day.

Levy surveyed the room, noticing the grim expressions on everyone's faces. She spoke cautiously, "Don't worry, everyone. Thanks to Drake arriving just in time, none of us were injured!"

Erza countered, "This isn't about injuries!"

Natsu shouted, "That's right! Those Phantom Lord jerks dared to attack our guildmates! We absolutely cannot let them get away with this!"

Natsu couldn't tolerate anyone harming his guildmates; even the failed attempt ignited his fury! However, there was only one reason why he hadn't immediately stormed out to confront Phantom Lord.

Natsu turned his head, his gaze fixed on Makarov, who stood in the center of the assembled guild members. It wasn't just Natsu; everyone else's eyes were also drawn to Makarov.

Makarov wasn't wearing his usual ridiculous pajamas; instead, he was clad in the white robe that befitted his status as a Saint Ten.

With a sharp crack, Makarov crushed the cane he was holding in his hand.

"I could tolerate the destruction of the building! But to dare to attack the children of this guild...that is unforgivable! Let the war begin!"

"OOH!!!"

Unlike the tense atmosphere within Fairy Tail, the mood at Phantom Lord's headquarters was far from celebratory.

Phantom Lord's true headquarters were located in a secluded, little-known location, while their public office for accepting missions was situated in Oak, a town located to the northwest of Magnolia.

The day before, Phantom Lord's mages had been gloating over Gajeel's successful demolition of Fairy Tail's guild hall. However, this morning, they were met with the sight of Gajeel lying unconscious at the guild's entrance.

Everyone knew that Gajeel was a force to be reckoned with within Phantom Lord, on par with, if not surpassing, the Four Elements in terms of strength. The fact that even he had been so badly beaten served as a sobering blow to Phantom Lord's arrogant demeanor.

Jose, gazing at Gajeel, who lay in bed, his body swathed in bandages, spoke in a low, ominous tone, "The injuries you sustained were caused by fire magic. Does Fairy Tail possess a fire mage of such incredible power?

Is it Macao, or perhaps that fire dragon, Natsu? No! They simply do not possess such abilities."

Gajeel opened his eyes, "It was someone named Drake. That bastard is terrifyingly strong; he possesses the power of a Saint Ten, just like the Master!"

Jose responded indifferently, "Is that so? However, it matters not. As long as my plan is executed flawlessly, Fairy Tail has only one possible outcome: utter defeat!"

Gajeel opened his mouth to speak, but ultimately decided against offering any further counsel. He knew that there was no way he could convince Jose to believe in the sudden emergence of an unheard-of Saint Ten-level mage.

Furthermore, even if Jose were to believe him, the plan had progressed to a point where it was simply impossible to halt its momentum. And even if Jose were willing to stop, it remained to be seen whether Makarov would be willing to do the same.

Gajeel closed his eyes once more. Regardless of Jose's decision, he was determined to exact revenge on Drake for this humiliating defeat. And he had a strong feeling that such an opportunity would present itself very soon!

Just as this thought crossed his mind, a deafening crash echoed from the floor below the guild hall.

Gajeel, still unfamiliar with Fairy Tail's modus operandi, had yet to learn that Fairy Tail never let a chance for revenge slip by; they had come to settle the score.

The tranquility of Phantom Lord's branch office was shattered. The main doors were blown open, and the unfortunate Phantom Lord mage who had been standing near the entrance was sent flying by the impact.

Stepping over the debris of the shattered doors, Makarov declared in a booming voice, "Fairy Tail is here to settle the score!"

Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!

ICE MAKE: Lance!

Natsu and Gray charged forward from either side, their combined fire and ice magic sending the unprepared Phantom Lord mages flying.

Take Over: Beast Soul!

Elfman's arms were covered in scales and fur, transforming into powerful, muscular limbs that sent the oncoming Phantom Lord mages sprawling.

"Man! Man! Man…!" he roared, his voice echoing his unyielding determination.

Although he hadn't yet fully mastered the Beast Soul Take Over, allowing him to fully harness the power of the Beast Soul, it was more than sufficient to deal with these weaker opponents!

Card Magic: Summoned Lightning!

Cana tossed several magical cards into the fray, unleashing a torrent of lightning that struck down upon the enemy mages, transforming those who were struck into shadowy figures shrouded in skeletal forms.

Bullet Magic: Rapid Fire!

Change: Magic Gun!

Alzack's handgun unleashed a barrage of bullets with the power of a submachine gun, while Bisca, wielding a machine gun in each hand, unleashed a devastating hail of gunfire, suppressing a large number of the enemy mages.

Word Magic: Iron!

Levy, who had narrowly escaped being attacked, was not about to let her attackers go unpunished. Despite her generally easygoing nature, she was not without her anger.

The words that appeared in mid-air manifested as solid iron, and as the words descended, they crushed several of the enemy mages beneath their weight.

Macao and Wakaba stood back-to-back, their bodies surrounded by swirling purple flames and smoke.

"These youngsters are certainly energetic, aren't they?" Macao remarked with a chuckle.

"We can't afford to be left behind!" Wakaba responded, his voice filled with determination.

Purple Flame Magic: Purple Flame Bind!

Smoke Magic: Smoke Assault!

The purple flames transformed into ropes, instantly binding all the mages surrounding the pair, before the smoke solidified into powerful fists that sent them flying.

"Everyone is so amazing!" Lucy exclaimed, her eyes wide with astonishment.

Because Levy had not been injured in the initial attack, Lucy was free to join the fray, and she had eagerly seized the opportunity.

Erza, standing beside Lucy, declared, "That's right. We are all reliable comrades. This is the strength of Fairy Tail!"

With these words, Erza swung her sword, slicing through several of the weaker opponents before unleashing her own powerful magic.

Requip: Heaven Wheel Armor!

Erza, embodying the very essence of the Fairy Queen, unleashed a whirlwind of spinning blades that sent a large number of the enemy mages flying.

Lucy, her spirits soaring, declared, "I'm a Fairy Tail mage too, and I won't be left behind! Open, Gate of Sagittarius!"

Lucy produced the Sagittarius Golden Key she had recently obtained on Galuna Island and summoned a rather… unique creature.

Celestial Spirits are magical beings that inhabit the Celestial Spirit World, and they possess the ability to alter their appearance according to their own whims.

However, Sagittarius, in his current form, was rather peculiar; he resembled a person who had somehow squeezed themselves into a horse-shaped doll.

"Mossi! Mossi! Do you have any orders for me?" Sagittarius inquired in a high-pitched voice.

Lucy, pointing towards the remaining Phantom Lord mages, instructed, "They are all enemies, Sagittarius. Eliminate them!"

"As you command! Mossi mossi," Sagittarius replied, his voice echoing with a strange mixture of enthusiasm and awkwardness.

Sagittarius, wielding his bow and arrow, began to unleash his magic, targeting the enemy mages with deadly accuracy.

While Celestial Spirits fight by borrowing the magical energy of their summoners, they possess their own distinct magical abilities, and their skill often surpasses that of human mages.

Sagittarius's bow and arrow magic was no exception; his arrows, never missing their mark, struck down every mage he targeted.

Fairy Tail's mages were generally stronger than those of Phantom Lord, and the absence of the Four Elements and their leader, Jose, further diminished the enemy's morale. As a result, Phantom Lord's forces began to crumble within moments of the battle's commencement.

Drake shook his head, unable to comprehend what had given Jose the audacity to challenge Fairy Tail in the first place!

To begin with, it was questionable whether the Four Elements could truly be considered on par with S-class mages, and their basic fighting strength was far inferior.

The weaker mages of Phantom Lord were unable to even stand up to Happy, the small blue cat, who effortlessly swatted them aside while casually holding two fish in his paws!

Whether through a stroke of brilliance or sheer stupidity, these weaker mages had inexplicably targeted Makarov, who had yet to make a move.

Their strategy of targeting the leader first wasn't inherently flawed, but they had severely underestimated their opponent's capabilities.

The diminutive old man instantly transformed into a colossal giant, his head brushing against the ceiling, and with a single, mighty slap, he sent those foolish mages sprawling to the ground.

"Waaaaahhhh!"

"Monster!"

Makarov showed no inclination to deny this; rather, he declared, "You dared to attack the children of a monster? Don't expect human laws to protect you!"

Drake remained on the sidelines, observing the unfolding events, only following Makarov's movements. Within the ranks of Phantom Lord, only two mages possessed noteworthy magical power: Gajeel, and the other was likely Aria, one of the Four Elements.

Drake was quite curious to witness how Aria would attempt to ambush Guild Master Makarov in his presence.
