- Sebas Aren's Class Window

Sebas sat at the storefront of The Chipped Anvil, going over his god window’s information, flat-out ignoring the Unique class, as it would appear that something ominously wrong had happened in its information. A guild worker attempted to get Sebas attention, shoving her hand through the light blue transparent window and shaking her hand in front of Sebas’ face.

“Sorry, can I get checked out?”

“You’re… Raven right?”

“Yessir! Nimina Raven and you’re Sebas Aren?”

He nodded while looking over the three longswords she picked out, and looked back up, “Hey, let me ask you something, Ms. Raven: what would you have to do to decipher the text on the god window?” Sebas asked and told her the blades would be 30 Silvers.

“Decipher text?”She asked,” Like you are unable to read the text?”

Sebas nodded and told her about his Unique rank class.

“We might want to get you to the guild, something like that is, unlikely to be true, we might just arrest you for lying.” She placed coins on the countertop, hefting the swords together in a bundle.

Sebas gave the woman an untrustworthy look, scepticism took over his eyebrows as he squinted.

“That’s a joke,” She said, “We can see what the god window says with an observation crystal, they have one at the guild.”

Sebas took off the white apron they had him wearing at the storefront, he asked Raven a question while hanging it up on a hook on the wall, “What if the guild can’t even tell what it says?”

“Then we’ll have you dissected and studied.”

Sebas remained silent and just stared at the guildmaiden.

“You have no humor in your body, I feel bad for Gis and Jenva.”

The door’s sign was flipped from open to closed as the pair left the jingle of the storefront, heading deeper into civilization.

Inside the Guildhall, a dozen adventurers sit at the long rectangular tables beginning the first rounds of afternoon drinking. Sebas joined Nimina at the third guild booth from the front door, a small cyan crystal obelisk sat upon the table, where she guided his hand onto the top of the pointy object. A prompt appeared when the tip of the object drew blood, startling Sebas.

[Share God Window?]

[Yes] [No]

“Well, it is nice that it asked for once.”

“We here at the Adventurer’s Guild are all for privacy!”

[Yes]

The text of the blank class appeared for the others nearby, including Miss Raven, a silver-haired demihuman cat guild worker, and Elimir, who was neck-deep in a bowl of some sort of soup.

[ {Unique}]: The Player’s ¢ɲ┍æ´ı¢ɲӘı˘ ›¢ıӘı°æɲ µӘϐ ´˘ϐ¢¿ı˘≥ °ɲ Ә ϐ«°¿¿ ıµӘı æɲ¿≤ ›æɲϐı˘´ϐ ›Ә≤ ¿˘Ә´ɲ, ´˘ϐ¢¿ı°ɲ𝖡 °ɲ Ә ┍æ´ı¢°ıæ¢ϐ ˘ɲˆæ¢ɲı˘´:

“Well shit Tiny, you fucked up big time, what could you have done since you were 10 for this to be one of your classes?”

“I hate you Elimir, don’t call me tiny.”

“I love ye too lad.”

“Have you attempted to select a class yet?” The demihuman asked.

“No, I was going to bother whatever we consider the “Library of Eruka” first before deciding what is a manifested omen.”

“Hmm… Maybe you should?”

“Sir Felix, surely that is dangerous to do?”

“I can’t deny that, but surely a Unique first class would behoove envy that not only all of us would greed after if we were younger, but it could result in something that may shake up the world, albeit… now he reminds me of a young Felian, just look at those eyes.”

“Please don’t patronize me,” Sebas said.

Elimir laughed heartily from within his soup, “The cat called you a cat Sebas, you should feel honored, maybe we should call you Kitten instead of Tiny.”

“I wish a curse upon your bloodline,” Sebas mumbled.

“I think you both are acting up too much in front of our guest!” Raven exclaimed to her seniors.

Sebas placed his head on the counter, arms draped over his hair. Elimir thought for a bit and looked over the rest of the classes Sebas had available.

“If you want my opinion,” he began, “The worst thing that could happen to you is you get a class, sometimes we pick the wrong class, but it is not the end of the road.”

Sebas looked up staring up at Elimir. His face was grimaced with an impatient frown, a disheartening misery from indecision.

“Do whatever you want though, just don’t look at me like that,” Elimir said.

Sebas sighed and stood upright at the guild booth, “How do you even select a class?”

“Just tap it,” Felix said.

Sebas hesitated, reaching a finger forward, “Wait!” Raven shouted before Sebas could properly select it.

“What?”

“Are you sure?”

“No? Should I be?”

“Yes! Absolutely!”

“Hmm,” Sebas hummed, before selecting the class.

[You have selected: < {Unique}>]

[Confirm?]

[Yes] [No]

Sebas tapped [Yes] and let the information fade away. Looking around, waiting for something to change, giving it some time he asked, “Is that it?”

“What did you expect to pass out?”

“Well…”

“That’s just something you tend to do kiddo.”

“Screw you.”

“Don’t hate me for telling the truth, you pass out a lot from what I heard”

“I don’t feel any different, I thought something would happen?”

“You should have gotten a skill or a trait, did you not?” Raven asked.

“No, I didn’t hear anything.”

“Nothing?” Felix asked, curiosity showing from a flicking tail. Sebas shook his head in a declining answer, “Try to allocate your stats or just anything.”

Sebas focused on his strength, waiting for the annoying voice to tell him that he couldn’t increase his stats.

Squinting, he tried again.

“Uhhhh…”

“Uh?” Elimir asked.

“Uh… oh?”

“Uh oh?” Nimina asked.

Sebas nodded.

“Can’t access your window can you?”

Sebas shook his head from side to side, a pale tone on his face screaming that something was majorly wrong. Elimir stifled a laugh, “I think he's going to pass out.”

“Be nice Elimir, he's concerned,” Nimina responded.

“It happens to some outliers, usually if they are cursed,” Felix began, “It’s called mind block, you should be more concerned if that thing around your neck wasn’t working.”

Sebas looked down and held up his copper plate ID, the word “Biter” Underneath his level 10 engraving.

“I’m going to kill myself.”

“What's wrong now?” Elimir asked.

“I’m cursed! I have been since I was born! And now? I’m a fucking Biter?”

“That’s a new one!” Nimina exclaimed, pulling out a large tome and flipping through pages.

“I’m a fucking Biter.”

“Oh calm down, it could be worse,” Felix said.

“How could it possibly be worse?” Sebas asked.

“You ever hear of people with explosion magic?”

“No?”

“They don’t usually come home after their first explosion.”

“... That's fair, this is not the worst, but it is pretty fucked up.”

“It is very fucked up, congrats on the new name, Biter,” Elimir said to Sebas.

After she scribbled down the name and rank of Sebas’ class, Nimina Raven pulled out an Identity Stone, letting Sebas use it to view his God Window.
