Chapter 392: Rhyman
"Let's begin round two."
The creature that now stood in place of the effeminate man voiced out.
"...Rhyman." The princess frowned.
The Rhymans were an alien species that could walk upright just like hyumans. However, they had only one eye and fourteen limbs.
Due to their nightmarish appearance, rhymans were usually looked at with disgust by hyumans. They were also a violent race and their first contact with the hyumans led to racial war. Naturally, the hyumans were victorious and the rhymans were greatly wiped out to the point of being classified as an endangered species.
"So you're indeed from the Stygian Abyss." The princess said grimly as she tightened her grip on her spear.
It was a known fact that the majority of terrorists were mixed bloods and humans. However, not many knew that alien species were also a part of them. This was because the Kellan solar system didn't have many alien species living within.
There was only one native species in the Kellan solar system —the winged anthropoids— and two other exo-native species [1]; the hyumankin and the Kermans. Other alien species were present only in small numbers, and so, not accounted for in big data.
Being so little in numbers, it was impossible for the foreign alien species to form a terrorist organisation or to plot against the Oklo Dynasty. The few non-native alien species present tuck their tails in and tried to assimilate into society rather than causing trouble, as they could be easily tracked down. However, it was an entirely different story outside the Kellan solar system.
The largest terrorist organisation in the galaxy, the Cimmerians, largely consisted of alien races —most of which were defeated foes of the hyumankin. The Stygian Abyss on Eretre was already found out to be a branch of them, so it was of no surprise that there would be a non-native species from their ranks present in Eretre; especially since the species was a defeated foe of hyumankin.
"What about it?" The rhyman said.
Although he had no mouth, he was able to produce vocal sounds from the strange gill-like organs located on the two sides of his neck. However, compared to when the rhyman had a hyuman appearance, his voice was grating and rough.
"It doesn't matter. You'll still be dead today." The princess' eyes sharpened behind the helmet.
*Whoosh*
Once again, she disappeared from sight as she moved at an incredible speed that could rival a moving train. Only a blur could be seen with her figure barely visible.
"I see you."
The rhyman grabbed the short sword tightly with one of his new eight limbs and tossed it at a spot by his side.
*Clang*
The princess was forced to deflect the weapon, coming to an abrupt stop to do so.
Even though he now had only one eye, it seemed like the rhyman's vision was much sharper than before.
As the princess was compelled to react to his attack, the rhyman charged at her, brandishing an arm in the process.
The four new limbs connected to his right arm gleamed with a metallic light as they were brought down viciously at their target.
*Clang*
The princess reacted by swinging her spear at the limbs, blocking them in the process. However, the rhyman grinned at this and thrust his left arm towards her.
"You're wide open."
Despite that, the princess remained calm as she wielded her spear skillfully and used the lower end to fend off the second wave of attacks.
After blocking the two strikes, rather than retreating, the princess closed the gap and punched out with her left hand.
The rhyman widened his eyes, surprised by her movements. He tried to retreat from the trajectory of the attack but the same strange force of attraction was felt at that moment.
Nonetheless, he wasn't the same as he was before. Also, the mass and force behind the princess' fist couldn't compare to the mass of her spear. This meant that the resulting gravitational force generated by her fist thanks to her hint, was not enough to keep him planted.
The rhyman exerted a lot of force and jerked his head to the side, narrowly dodging the punch that could have knocked him out.
At the same time, the four tentacle-like limbs on his head dove down and went for the princess. Similar to the new limbs on her two arms, these four limbs on his face had a metallic sheen to them. They were on par with a Grade 3 vestige in terms of durability and sharpness.
It was too late to retreat, so the princess only steeled herself and prepared for the attack. Her body lit up with a silvery glow that suffused all over her body.
*Crack*
The aura held back the eerie facial limbs for a second before it was broken through like glass. Even then, it managed to diminish the force of the attacks, allowing the armour to fend off the remnant with ease.
The princess didn't hesitate to retreat at the same time, creating enough gap between her and the rhyman. Her opponent also did the same after seeing his attack failed.
The two sides stared at each other for a second before they jumped right into action again.
This time around, the rhyman didn't behave like a sitting duck as he lunged at her. Surprisingly, his speed had also increased and was roughly on par with the princess.
"They say two hands are better than one. How about twelve?"
The rhyman grinned as he controlled all eight limbs on his arms and the four in his head to attack the princess.
Three of the four limbs on the rhyman's face attacked from above while the last one attacked from upfront. One limb from the two arms also attacked from the front, making it three limbs. The remaining three on the rhyman's left arm attacked from that's direction while the other three on his right arm similarly attacked from their own respective direction.
In other words, the princess was now facing three limbs from four different directions. This was almost the same as facing off against twelve different attackers.
But even then, the princess didn't seem to be afraid.
The silvery stellar energy rapidly gathered onto the Purple Sun spear as the princess thrashed it around.
Silver spear lights shot out from the Grade 4 vestige, decorating the entire space in mid air between the princess and the rhyman.
*Clang*
*Clang*
*Clang*
The twelve limbs were forced to confront the spear lights otherwise the rhyman would be in danger. Whenever a limb crashed into a spear light, a metallic ringing sound would be heard before the spear light would disintegrate.
This went on for a while as the two sides were unwilling to retreat an inch.
"You underestimate me." The rhyman's voice suddenly changed, reverting to the cold nature from before.
The lone blue-black star eye (blue iris and black pupil) glared at the princess as a strange energy wave gathered towards the centre.
*Tiuuu*
A high-pitched sound was immediately heard as a thin blue beam shot out from the centre of the eye at an astonishing pace. The beam was both well-timed and properly aimed as it made its way across the battlefield and darted towards the princess.
"Die."
The princess didn't flinch when she saw the swift attack making its way towards her. On the contrary, she calmly tilted her spear and applied her gravity manipulation on the vestige while releasing her grip on it a bit.
Due to the influence of Eretre's gravity, the spear's position dropped a bit. At the same time, the gravity of the spear happened to attract the beam towards it. Although the effect was small, the slight deviation of the beam from its original trajectory, as well as the spear's shift in its position, all happened to be so timely. The beam ended up striking the spear directly, missing the princess in a way that seemed so coincidental.
*Bam*
Even though she had blocked the attack, it was still not easy to handle as the princess was forced one step backwards by the blast.
While one step might not seem like much, this destabilization tilted the balance of the attacks ahead of the princess.
The twelve attacking limbs of the rhyman seized the opportunity and immediately closed the gap.
"Get back!"
The princess roared as she swung her spear in a horizontal fashion.
A huge stellar energy crescent formed in front of her and blocked the attacking limbs.
*Bang*
Both sides were forced to a stop as an energy explosion occurred following the disintegration of the stellar energy crescent.
Just as the princess felt she could relax, a blue beam tore through the explosion and appeared right in front of her before she could even react.
*Boom*
The beam struck true, hitting the princess right on the chest as she was sent flying by the attack. The princess crashed into a tree, leaving a human-shaped hole on it as she forced half a meter in.
"As I said before, you are still too green."
