Birth Of The Crafts-God

Chapter 345: Dinner

After taking a shower and a short break, Lucas dressed up for the dinner later that night. He also had Melissa dressed for the event as well, with her outfit being one of the many Vienna had bought for her while Lucas was out.

When the appointed time arrived, a hover car showed up at the door and the two got in. Inside the car was an android who looked just like a hyuman, if not for the 'noticeable' lack of life force around it.

Lucas gauged the machine and discovered it was one of those expensive robots, equipped with the ability to take on a stellar practitioner. Although its limit would most likely be a second or maybe third level Apertures Opening stage stellar practitioner, it was still quite impressive.

It didn't take long for the group to arrive at their destination —an opulent mansion located in the provincial capital of Trundel City.

Being almost as large as a district in other city-states, Trundel City similarly has a capital where the city's top powers resided. It was known as Ansford province. The Cas Lego province, where Lucas was based at, happened to be the neighbouring province to Ansford province, which would explain why Cas Lego was a large trading hub.

In Trundel City, only two provinces could compete with Ansford —Cas Lego and Neon Summer— but even then, the duo lacked considerably since Ansford province was the centre of the city.

Apart from being the centre of the city, the Ansford province was also home to the ruling family of Trundel City, the Cardoso family. The largest estate with the tallest building visible from any part of Ansford province, was said to be the home of this family. With them as the centre, Ansford province had become what it was today.

Even though it was still late into the night —around 10 PM— Ansford province was still brightly light and secure. One could feel the prosperity of the province at a glance.

The destination of the group was an impressive estate located at one corner of Ansford province. It wasn't the Cardoso estate, but its appearance didn't lack far behind the former. The estate had a grandiose mansion as well as a couple other buildings within it. The entire estate was surrounded by a fence made of vegetation, adding a unique feel to it.

At the centre of the estate was the opulent mansion with a fountain in front of it. It was basically how Lucas had imagined the home of a multi billionaire back on Earth would be like. In fact, it was so 'simplistic' that for a moment, Lucas felt he was back on Earth. There were no fancy coloured lights, floating skyscrapers or helipads, Eretrean-styled architecture and so on. Instead, everything felt Earthly.

While he admired this, it also made Lucas feel suspicious. Was the original owner of this mansion a transmigrator like himself? Or was Earth once a part of the hyumankin's history, or even still in existence?

"This way, please." A butler walked out of the mansion and directed Lucas and Melissa inside.

Despite how much the butler tried to rein it in, Lucas was able to sense his shocking energy and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. From what he could 'see', the butler was at least a ninth level Apertures Opening stage stellar practitioner. This was the level of a family head or leader of any large faction in any of the other city-states.

Realising this, Lucas felt that he had underestimated Vienna's background more than he thought.

After a short walk, the trio arrived at a large atrium at the centre of the mansion. The top was an open ceiling exposing the star-littered night sky. With such a stunning view as its canopy, a garden with a pond was set up in the atrium with a solarium —made entirely out of glass— at its centre. Inside the solarium, a long dinner table had been set up with wooden chairs by the side.

The butler led Lucas and Melissa in, and had them take their seats while they waited for the host.

There was no feast ready yet, but the utensils had already been set. Each of them had a faint aura of stellar energy around it, signalling that they were all low-grade vestiges. Eating with vestiges didn't offer any special advantage; it was also costly to have and maintain, so not many magnates did such. Only the ultra-rich, who wanted to flaunt their wealth did so. Actually, to many it might seem like they were flaunting their wealth, but to them, the production and maintenance costs were peanuts.

While they waited, two maids walked in with two trays and set them before Lucas and Melissa. On both trays were a variety of fruits, pastries and sweets, meant to keep the two bust until the host had arrived.

Each pastry was made with the finest ingredients, which included but not limited to desolate beast flesh, luxurious and rare ingredients, as well as precious stellar herbs —which were unique plants that could improve one's stellar energy and health. The fruits were also the same, but as if considering the guests, the stellar energy they possessed was just enough for a human to handle without any side effects.

Looking at these, Lucas couldn't help but wonder how exactly the main dish would be. Based on the appearance of the estate and the journey so far, it was quite possible that this was an everyday meal for the residents of this mansion.

Lucas glanced at Melissa and noticed she had her eyes glued onto the pastries and sweets but didn't touch them yet. Thanks to Lucas' efforts in raising her, Melissa wasn't one to easily be swayed by food; even if it was very tempting, she could still hold herself back.

As if sensing his gaze, Melissa turned towards him with puppy eyes.

"You can have some." Lucas smiled as he patted her head.

"Thank you."

Without another word, Melissa stretched her hand and began devouring the pastries first before switching to the sweets and fruits. Lucas also had a taste of a few of them and couldn't help but compliment the tastes positively. Although they were still greatly lacking compared to some of what he had eaten in his first life, it was unfair to compare the food of Astral Monarchs and Dragons to a mere Apertures Opening stage lord.

After a few minutes, Lucas sensed some figures approaching but he pretended not to. A few seconds later, even Melissa was aware of their presence and glanced towards the entrance of the solarium. At this time, Lucas did the same.

A trio, led by the butler, made their way to the solarium. Two of them were familiar, being Vienna and the silver-haired man who had extended the invitation. The third individual was also a man with silver hair, but compared to the man in his 30s, his hair was lacking in the same metallic lustre.

The unfamiliar figure looked similar to the metallic silver-hair man [1], but he was clearly much older. Despite that, his aura was more intense and his body robust. He was like a dragon before the storm; calm, yet exuding a very dangerous aura.

Without a doubt, this was the strongest individual Lucas had come across since his transmigration. Not even Russell Mertens, the ninth level head of the Mertens family in Baylands City, could come close. In fact, Lucas didn't doubt that if the two faced off, this silver-haired man could wipe the floor with Russell using only one hand. If it wasn't for the fact that this was Trundel City, Lucas might have suspected that he was the Oklo Dynasty's Emperor.

"Nice to meet you." The silver-haired man smiled.
