Binjiang Police Affairs

Chapter 368: Everyone Has Their Own Aspirations

Since it was a normal delivery, Han Xiangning was discharged from the hospital after two days.

She did not return to the house she lived in for many years, but went directly back to Bailong Port, where even Little Han Han's Baptism Wine ceremony was held.

Master Han and Xiang Fan were very reluctant, but thinking that both of them had to work, letting their daughter do her postpartum confinement in the city meant they could only see their granddaughter in the evening. Instead of having their son-in-law shuttle back and forth, they preferred to support their daughter's decision.

Master Han had just obtained his motorcycle driving license. He originally planned to buy a motorcycle to make the travel to his hometown more convenient. Now that his daughter needed to do her confinement, he initially couldn't ride the light motorcycle for a short period, which provided a perfect opportunity to use his daughter's light motorcycle to visit his granddaughter in Bailong Port.

The happiest person was Luo Yanfeng.

No matter how nice the in-laws are, they are still in-laws. Taking care of the daughter-in-law and granddaughter at the in-laws' place is not as convenient as in Bailong Port.

Her parents did not object, and Han Xiangning was also very happy. She didn't know when it started, but she began to consider Bailong Port as her home, feeling truly at peace only when she returned there.

The Baptism Wine was set up at the Bailong Port Passenger Pier canteen, which saved half of the money compared to hosting it in the city.

Friends and relatives who came to the Baptism Wine brought many maternity gifts: pork thighs, pig lungs, kidneys, and pig's feet weighing two to three hundred pounds combined, enough to eat until the New Year, along with snacks like twists, sesame crisps, brown sugar, and biscuits, which led her into a "painful" life of having everything handed to her.

Crucian Carp Soup, pig's feet soup, lungs soup, old hen soup... various soups rotated in, and though she didn't want to drink, she had to; her mother-in-law said that without drinking them, there would be no milk and Han Han would starve.

She was so busy drinking soups during the day that she couldn't eat any meals.

At night, if she was hungry, she either soaked twists or crispy crackers, otherwise biscuits.

The soy milk, which she didn't like to drink before, now turned out to be the lightest and most delicious thing.

Han Xiangning, with a headscarf tied around her head, sat cross-legged on the bed, had a small bowl of soy milk, and almost pleaded, "Mom, I want to eat deep-fried dough sticks."

"Don't eat deep-fried food, haven't you seen how those dough sticks are fried? That pot of oil, who knows how many days it's been used, it's already blackened, it's not hygienic." Luo Yanfeng cleared up the dishes and then turned to look at her granddaughter who was soundly sleeping in the cradle.

Han Xiangning muttered, "The twists are also deep-fried, and the oil used for frying them isn't very hygienic either."

"I soak them twice before giving them to you."

"That's why it's not very oily on the outside; turns out you've washed it once!"

"Washing once is hygienic."

"Is that necessary?"

"Your mom told me to do this, so of course, I listen to your mom."

Although her mother wasn't in Bailong Port, her mother's "instructions" were executed without fail by her mother-in-law.

With these postpartum instructions from her mother-in-law on top, Han Xiangning somewhat regretted insisting on returning to Bailong Port, because it was becoming unbearable day by day.

Wanting to go outside for fresh air was not allowed, in case she caught a draft which could leave behind lingering issues.

Watching TV for a while was also not allowed; it's bad for the eyes.

She wanted to take off the cloth band tied across her forehead, that wasn't allowed either, removing it could leave lingering headaches.

Everything was not allowed, and she was utterly bored when suddenly footsteps were heard outside. Then,a familiar voice came from outside.

"Sister Ningning, Sister Ningning, I'm back!"

"Sister Ningning, where's my niece, where is little Han Han?"

"Yu Zhen, Brother Yu!"

Han Xiangning joyfully sat up, waiting for her mother-in-law to open the door and lift the curtain, only to find out it was indeed Brother Yu and Yu Zhen, the two carrying many big and small bags.

Yu Zhen set down the maternity gifts and chuckled, "Sister Ningning, let me see Han Han first."

"She just fell asleep, she doesn't sleep well at night, babbling wanting to talk to me, asking me to play with her. During the day, she gets sleepy after eating." Her daughter was very adorable, giving Han Xiangning a profound sense of achievement.

Brother Yu handed the items to Mrs. Han and curiously asked, "Sister Ningning, how much did Han Han weigh when she was born?"

"Six pounds and three ounces."

"How entertaining, her hands are moving!"

"If you think it's fun, hurry up and get married, and have one too."

"We're not old enough yet."

As Brother Yu's words fell, Yu Zhen turned back and scolded him, "It's none of your business here, go outside and help Brother Salted Fish with the stuff."

"Alright, Sister Ningning, I'm going outside first."

Realizing it was inappropriate for a grown man to stick around, Brother Yu quickly lifted the curtain and went out.

Certainly, the young people had a lot to talk about, and Luo Yanfeng, fearing she might dampen her daughter-in-law's spirits, also carried the just-cleaned dishes out.

Han Xiangning didn't expect that even after Brother Yu became a police academy instructor, he was still scared of Yu Zhen and laughed, asking, "I told Salted Fish not to disturb you, what brought you guys back?"

"We missed you."

"You're back, what will happen to Hanwu's business?"

"Grandpa hasn't returned, and my cousin also went over there, they're helping me look after it."

Yu Zhen looking back, seemingly embarrassed, said, "There's also something I needed to come back and discuss with his parents."

Han Xiangning instinctively asked, "What's the matter?"

"The business on Hanwu's side is good, Grandpa is getting old, my cousin just went over and knows nothing, even if she did, it's not possible to let her help me with purchasing; I can't manage alone."

"You want Brother Yu's parents to go over?"

"The daily cash flow is over ten thousand; if they don't go, I have to find strangers, and who can trust strangers."

"Daily cash flow over ten thousand!"

"It's a wholesale business; it's about volume."

Han Xiangning had heard that her business at Hanwu was doing well, but didn't expect it to be this successful.

Astounded, Han Xiangning inquired, "Daily cash flow over ten thousand, how much money does that make a day?"

Yu Zhen scratched her neck and laughed, "I wholesale the goods in the morning and by afternoon, I have to go to the bank to pay the suppliers, the money is all tied up in the goods, I haven't calculated it precisely, but it should be around a hundred thousand a month."
