Beyond the Bloodline

Chapter 12 -Didn’t your mother teach you not to eat things from strangers?

The force of the third punch sent the dragon’s humanoid body into the air, while Jamie got up from the ground and jumped up after him, spinning around and delivering a high kick towards the dragon’s chest once more.

**GBAM!!!!

**BOOOMM!!!

The power behind Jamie’s kick sent him crashing down onto the ground with deep impact, ripping apart the earth for several hundred metres and generating plumes of dust and dirt.

“GROAARRR!!”

A gigantic shadow manifested behind the clouds of dust, accompanied by a thunderous roar and a beam of crimson light that shot out towards the incoming Hybrid.

Jamie cupped his palms and drew them to his left side, concentrating his energy on a single point between them.

He held the condensed energy in his left hand and thrust it forward, shooting a streaming powerful beam of energy that collided with the dragon’s breath in a bright explosion.

The collision of the two attacks birthed a blinding explosion, illuminating the battlefield with a dazzling display of light and power.

Bursting out from within the explosion, Jamie pulled back his right fist and threw out a punch, which the dragon met by twisting his body and swinging his massive tail that was now covered in a layer of frigid energy, with dozens of razor-sharp magical ice spikes jutting out.

Fist and Tail met each other in a collision of energy, the forces of the strikes rebounding against one another and creating an explosion that send both of them hurtling backwards through the air.

The sheer force of the impact propelled them upward, their bodies silhouetted against the skies for an instant before gravity took hold of them.

With a thunderous crash, they both plummeted back down to the ground, earth and debris swirling around them as their feet dragged across the floor.

It only took them a second to regain their balance and charge forward once more, going in for another clash.

Jamie activated a skill and surrounded himself with elemental powers as he engaged in a brawl with the dragon.

Having learned his lesson from before, the dragon didn’t dare be complacent, as the instant he sensed even the slightest spatial ripple, he quickly flapped his wounded wings and took as much distance as physically possible within an instant.

Seeing how wary the dragon was, Jamie knew catching it with his void distortion would be a tad difficult.

Then again, he didn’t have any intentions of doing so in the first place.

Fist collided with scales, claws met with energy-infused strikes, each blow hitting with a forceful impact that sent shockwaves in all directions, quivering the ground beneath their feet.

Jamie’s agile form weaved through the air, taking advantage of his higher speed to evade the dragon’s tail sweeps and countering with swift strikes that left blue trails of energy in their wake.

The air itself seemed to tremble in awe as his blows connected, the dragon recoiling from the sheer force of his lightning-quick attacks.

Not to be outmatched, the dragon who had healed his wings to an extent with life law energy, beat them against the air and used wind magic, unleashing gusts of wind that momentarily threw Jamie off balance.

With an expert manoeuvre, the dragon lunged forward, jaws agape and enveloped in flames, aiming to engulf the Hybrid in a searing inferno.

But Jamie was not one to be caught so easily, as he created a foothold of energy mid-air and kicked off it, spinning his body to the side and narrowly evading.

In retaliation, he conjured his own surge of wind magic, generating a horizontal tornado that drilled straight towards the dragon and hit it square in the side, ripping off scales and tearing through its flesh.

The Dragon roared in pain while activating a Fourth Tier Spell, unleashing a torrential fusion of flames and ice which Jamie blocked with a barrier of earth magic.

Jamie poured energy into the barrier, pushing back against the elemental onslaught and slamming the barrier towards the dragon’s body.

In retaliation, Jamie conjured a surge of wind magic, generating a horizontal tornado that bore down upon the dragon. The force of the tempest struck the colossal creature,

The dragon swung his claw to shatter the stone construct, the claw continuing on its path towards Jamie who threw out his right fist to block.

But at the last moment, the dragon suddenly altered the trajectory of his attack, slamming the claw into the ground and shattering the earth under Jamie’s feet in a successful attempt to mess with the Hybrid’s footing.

Simultaneously, the dragon used that same claw to grab onto the earth and pull the rest of his body forward, his open wide jaw clamping shut on the Hybrid’s still outstretched arm.

“?!”

And with all his strength, the dragon pulled its head back, ripping Jamie’s arm off his body from around the mid-point between his elbow and shoulder.

Immediately, the Hybrid leapt backwards, wincing lightly from the long-forgotten sensation of losing a limb.

Blood flowing forth from the rent flesh, erupted in a violent display, casting its scarlet hues on the ground and forming a macabre pool on the floor.

Looking at the bloodied stump where his arm was once connected for a moment, Jamie redirected his gaze towards the dragon and asked.

“Didn’t your mother teach you not to eat things from strangers?”

In that same instant, his flesh bubbled and writhed, followed by the weaving together of tendons, reformation of bones, and stretching of sinew as the arm grew anew with an otherworldly vigour.

In a second, the stump was no more and a fully formed arm stood in its place.

Just like the arm had never been bitten off, Jamie’s arm looked brand new, without a single blemish and was functioning perfectly.

‘Thankfully, I took off my jacket first.’

Thinking that to himself, he turned towards the dragon who had sensed something wrong with the arm he had bitten and spat it out immediately.

But sadly for the reptilian creature, it was already too late.

“GUH!! *Cough!!* Guk!”

“Judging from the current situation, it’s clearly obvious that she didn’t.”

As Jamie spoke, the dragon’s breathing turned laboured and blood began dripping from its eyelids.

A thick, frothy substance drooled from its jaws, and it wheezed with every breath, struggling to draw in air.

Jamie casually cracked his neck while this occurred, placing a palm on his right shoulder and rotating his right arm clockwise, and then in reverse.

“Let’s use this as a little warm-up now.”

He nonchalantly strutted up to the dragon who was now trying to detoxify whatever ‘toxin’ it had been infected with upon consuming Jamie’s arm.

But the Hybrid had no intentions of waiting for him to finish.

He clenched his right fist and pulled his arm back, infusing it with energy and gathering strength within it before throwing out a punch, aiming straight at the creature’s face.

**BAAMMM!!!!

An omnidirectional shockwave spread out on impact, shattering the earth beneath him creating a massive crater on the ground, with the point where his fist collided with the creature as the centre.

The creature’s large body was sent flying out of the rising cloud of dust, drawing a perfect arc in the air before crashing down onto the ground with so much force it bounced back up into the air.

It rag-dolled on the ground for a few hundred metres, rolling into a sea of flames that was once a large building structure, and eventually falling into the massive kilometre-wide crater of fire at the centre.

The lips of the silver-haired man who watched all this happen with a palm raised in front of his forehead, curled up into a satisfied grin as he enthusiastically shouted out loud.

“Strike!!”

And there you have it, the reason why Jamie was using the poor Dragon to play a strange variant of golf.

Unfortunately for the dragon, the Hybrid wasn’t quite done with him yet.

Jamie kicked off the ground and jumped into the air, taking two leaps to reach the dragon’s position and landing directly on the poisoned creature’s exposed belly.

“GUFUOAAAHH!!”

The Dragon let out a strange noise when Jamie’s feet landed on its stomach, while the Hybrid could swear that he heard the sound of the dragon’s bones cracking

‘Did I break his spine or something?’

Not knowing how right his guess was, the man shrugged his shoulders and turned his gaze towards the dragon’s neck, twisting his lips lightly.

“Although I can’t exactly be picky right now, no freaking way am I putting my teeth on that.

Blood Orb.”
