Beyond My Grandmother's Death

Chapter 13: The Voice of Blood

"**

The winds had calmed, and the clouds slowly retreated, as if the sky itself felt embarrassed.

Adam was sitting in the middle of the crater made by his fall, the transparent spear having melted… or perhaps returned to within him.

Laboubo approached cautiously, staring into Adam's eyes and saying:

– "You... have changed."

Adam didn't respond immediately. He was looking at his hands, which shimmered with threads of gold mixing with red veins, as if his blood was no longer fully human.

Suddenly, he heard a voice.

It wasn't his grandmother's voice, nor Laboubo's, but something older... deeper.

"Finally, you've awakened to your legacy."

The voice came from within him, but it wasn't merely a hallucination. He felt it in his bones.

It wasn't just a voice… it was a sense of belonging to something greater, something more dangerous.

Adam closed his eyes, and before him appeared a vision he had never seen before:

A picture of his grandmother fighting monsters in strange places, with a mysterious tattoo glowing on her forehead during battle.

And her voice saying:

"There is a pact, very ancient, between the gatekeepers and the blood of Nimora. He who is born marked is not just human… but a key."

Adam opened his eyes and slowly stood up.

Laboubo watched the new spark in Adam's eyes and said:

– "You are now… the true bearer of the seal."

Adam didn't understand everything, but what he knew was enough:

His blood was not just a human inheritance; it was a mixture between two worlds.

And his grandmother was not just a grandmother—she was of the lineage of the gatekeepers.

And he... he was the last of them.

**Suddenly, the earth cracked open just steps away.**

A figure emerged, cloaked in a robe, its face hidden, and its voice echoed like a distant reverberation:

– "If you carry the seal, prepare yourself… for you are now at the heart of the war."

The figure raised its hand, and behind it, a portal of purple light materialized, bleeding.

Laboubo screamed:

– "Noooo! That's an inverted gate! From Nimora to before Nimora!"

But it was too late.

Adam felt himself being pulled, not just in body, but in his memories, thoughts, and very essence.

And the moment he crossed the gate, he realized he was going to a place where he wouldn't even recognize himself.
